guys, whenever you do a review of a watch and film it on the wrist, make the effort and film your whole hand because we are interested how it looks on the context of your arm, to see the proportions, not to see just the dial itself. It's pointless to film it on the wrist w/o showing the whole arm!!

Thanks for the review. It's too bad the camera wasn't zoomed out more when you were showing these on the wrist as it's difficult to gauge from so close up.

The automatic movement is it an eta? also is the crystal plastic or? Can you elaborate on the accuaracy of the automatic versions or perhaps post a link to the details? Thanks, great video.

Hi Mark nice video. Back in 2009 I got one of these watches issued to me while deployed in Iraq when I was in the Army. It’s a very nice watch and have been really impressed with it. It will definitely withstand some brutal punishment that’s for sure. Over the years of use and abuse my only complaint is that the tritium has depleted unfortunately. My question is what can I do about it? I’m really thinking about buying one now that I’m out of the Army and can’t get another issued. I’d like to replace it with the same one I have that has the US Government printed on it. I believe mine is the 41 based on your measurements. Do you have any in stock?

Just got my GSAR in yesterday from you and I have to to I like it but I do wish it was about 2-3 mm larger. I am with you though not sure the Jsar or JDD would be to tall. I think I would like the 46mm better but that 17mm hight would be to tall. Over all I want a Rolex Submariner one day and it's only 40mm so I'm going to keep wearing the Gsar so when I do get a Sub I'm more used to that size.

Would love to buy the 41mm TSAR...any additional discounts for an avid watcher of your channel Marc.

How bright is Maraglo compared to Tritium? And comparing Maraglo to Superluminova? How long does the lume last than the other?

I have a nearly 8 inch wrist. My wrist is thicker than most. I have on order the 41mm Automatic, however I am fighting with myself about the 36mm. I own and love to wear two 38mm timepieces; one Swiss Diver and one German Flieger Type A, each with the ETA 2824-2 movements. I am scared to buy a $1000+ watch at that 36mm size.

Mark I agree with you that the jumbo watches are too much for the street however if you were a super diver you might actually want it under water. One thing about professional divers is that they have to be able to work incomplete darkness. It's such as a oil rig. Anyway nowadays most divers wear a diving computer on their wrist. Also, I don't see the US government giving away many $1,000 watches.

Dang why don’t they have 39mm!?😢😢😢 I think the 36 looked the best. Now I have to figure out what’s best for my wrist 7”. I’m not a fan of overly heavy watches either.

Good video, but your wrist is way too close to the camera to show the real size of the watch.

Does it look to you that the numbers on the dial of the GSAR and the Jumbo Quartz are the same size? Do you know if the numbers on the dial of the JDD and the GSAR are the same? If both are the same do you know any reason why this would be? It seems to me if the dial is bigger the numbers on that dial should be bigger and easier to read.

To Marc or anybody who might know, do the Marathon watches bought from Long Island Watch include the manufacturers warranty??

I understand the dial depth on the medium and large, but don't understand it on the jumbo. The reason for the depth is the tritium tubes need that extra clearance on the medium 36mm and large 41mm. The jumbo 46mm does not have these tubes so the depth should lessen IMHO. I have a 7 3/4" wrist and am juggling between the large and jumbo. The height is a negative to me on the jumbo and again don't understand it because it is not needed. Most likely they offer the jumbo with tritium as well and use the case for both with and without tritium.

I keep my watches indefinitely. What’s the deal when the tritium fails? Repair or toss! IMHO, the Callander wheel looks best in black.

I wish they made a tritium JSAR, I'd be all over it.

First 4 chars of the code is the Inventory Management Code (or IMC) and all of the following numbers (9 chars total) are the stock no. or siin/diin. The first 2 will be the country code, so I guess Canada must be 21. For example, the Uk is 99, I know that much. Think America is 00. So ye - example - 0645 991110001, or 0645 99-111-0001.

for theses military watches : 36mm is almost a "lady" size watch , 41mm is ok but in the small size , I would liked if marathon could have made the GSAR 45mm

These wear really small. I have jumbo and it still looks small on my 7.25 wrist.

it´s a shame than the jumbo diver & pilot Chronograph doesn´t mention in the dial US GOVERMENT neither the symbol of the eagle with the arrows in the clasp bracelet stainless steel

I have a 6.7 wrist and for me, the SKX007 is as big as I can go. In your opinion, which one fits more like the SKX007? The 36 or the 41?

Would anyone use this as an everyday watch?

I purchased the watch it is really small you save $300 but after wearing my other dive watches it looks really small in comparison to me.

Would absolutely love the 36mm with an automatic.. why do watch brands never put what you want in a watch?

I really want one of these, but they look so "meh" to me. I love the idea of a government issued time piece for special forces, marines, FBI,..., but the watches themselves do not seem all that cool The Traser line looks better to me, but I LOVE the idea of wearing a watch that a marine or other heroic person wears. Do you have any comment on this? I know it is a rather open-ended and not entirely sane comment, but I am curious if there is some kind of quality to these watches that one must hold an actual example to understand (enamel dials exemplify this). I would hate to order one and return it. Perhaps it is just me, but I feel as though the appearance and the description are greatly misaligned.

Being a woman, I love that I can have a rugged, quality watch that is a great size for me.
