what strikes me of marcelo is that he point his toe to the ground AFTER he sweep the guy, so somehow it's different from the basic bg sweep commonly taught. It seems he got a so advanced hip core movement that he dosen't even need the toe help!

So the butterfly hook sweep has many variational details that power the sweep. The hook isnt really needed but the power to roll over the shoulder with the toe power generated foot
@extrememma4535 if i were 100 miles within the vicinity of the school, i would come... it would be a dream come true, but unfortunately i live around 9000 miles from there :(
Because hes not getting into guard hes getting into butterfly guard. If hes in butterfly and someone drives forward they are driving right into a sweep
Im actually really frustrated by this atm. Everyone including marcello, glosses over the grip fighting. 0:25 "I concentrate on his hands, and then . . ." They grab your wrists, they dont just let you do that. Its really screwing me up. If you cant get grips, you cant play butterfly.
He didn't exactly get owned he was winning the grappling. He probably should of tried other submissions. Because he wasn't able to get the rnc. Because he wasn't used to the gloves. They seemed to get in his way. Also he struggled to get it to the ground. His MMA wrestling needs some work. But it only got stopped on cuts not so bad a loss.
