The album sold better than Glitter in the US but was still not considered a big success. Fans were displeased with the amount of whispery vocals. She obtained some goodwill during this era, leading to her commercial comeback next. This album made me a lamb. ❤ Oh, “Clown” was about Eminem.

Ahh Charmbracelet ✨✨💫 . Well now we have entered the next phase of her Career. After the Glitter mess & the 1 sided split from Virgin Records, Mariah took some much needed time off to rest, physically, Mentally and emotionally. She used this time to connect with her Dad (Alfred) who was dying of Cancer . His health was so sensitive, by this point, that the Only flowers that didn't give him an allergic reaction were Sunflowers 🌻🌻 . She had been approached by Jay Z and ultimately her friend Antonio L.A. Reid (formerly of LaFace Records, co-owner w/Babyface) who was now the Head of Def Jam /Island Records. She ultimately Joined & with a new sense of Security, Maturity and Support from her new label. This album didn't get the proper marketing and promotion it deserved however it Proved the doubters that she still had alot left in the Well of Vast Talent (Vocally and Lyrically). She did a Charmbracelet World Tour (her Band Intro Interlude is Phenomenal, especially the L.A. show) she did several Live TV performances including the today show NBC, Oprah as well as an MTV special (Shining Thru the Rain). Tho this isn't a commercial success by Mariah standards, Lambs Love this album rightfully so. A Precursor of what's to come up next in 2005s , TEOM. P.s. In between this album and TEOM ,she released The Remixes ,a 2 sided album (1st side Club remixes, extended versions & 2nd is Hip Pop , Rap , R&B remixes.)

Even though this album didnt cut any #1 hits its still a good album regardless. I love " through the rain " & she does a Def Leppard cover of " Bringin on the heartbreak " Mariah still has it going on! Yes the massive comeback of all time is next- " The Emancipation of Mimi " which took her to a whole another level & the first album where she was truly her & truly free. When you get to this one be sure to react to the " Ultra Platinum Edition of TEOM. This one has the 4 bonus hits where one of them " Don't Forget About Us " became her 17'th #1 & I absolutely love that song. That entire album is straight 🔥. You will love it! Cant wait for you to hear it just like all the rest.

This album didn't sell as well as a Mariah album should have but a couple million at the time wasn't terrible and she wasn't overly concerned...The album proceeding this, 'The Emancipation of Mimi', was her huge "comeback" and had incredible numbers...you'll understand why! ❤

This album is a fan favorite, but overall it still didn’t do great compared to her previous work. She was still considered unpopular to like at this time, some ppl would call it her “flop era” lol. In fact there’s a story about her asking to collab with certain artists for this album like Justin Timberlake but his team declining since she would be considered a stain to his image or wtv even tho she was and still is more successful than him which doesn’t make sense💀. Thankfully tho the next album “The Emancipation of Mimi” is considered her comeback into mainstream media and it was SUCH an AMAZING comeback that it’s considered among critics one of THE best comebacks from ANY artist of all time! It not only catapulted her back into the public eye in a positive view but also she got song of the DECADE from that album with “we belong together” spending 14 weeks at #1, which is her 2nd longest running #1 hit along with “all I want for Christmas”. The only song that’s spent more weeks at #1 from Mariah is “one sweet day” which spent 16 weeks at #1. But anyways, not only did this album grant her song of the decade for the 2000s and made every fake weirdo like her again, but the song “we belong together was so huge it blocked another Mariah song from going #1 lmao, and that was “shake it off” which WOULD’VE peaked at #1 if it wasn’t for “we belong together”, so it only made it to #2 and fun fact, “pon de replay” by Rihanna also peaked at #2 because it was ALSO blocked by “we belong together”. Mariah also had ANOTHER hit song from the album called “it’s like that” which peaked at #16 but it stayed in the charts for over 2 months. She also has a deluxe edition of the album which granted her ANOTHER #1 hit, that being “Don’t forget about us”! So overall she had 4 massive hits from this era and it remains one of her best selling albums to this day!! And ik I mentioned “one sweet day” being her longest running #1 but if anything “we belong together” would probably be considered her most successful song of all time until recently in the late 2010s-early 2020’s when “all I want for Christmas” started taking over and eventually becoming Mariah’s most successful song of all time lol.

The album did not do well, and it did not have any number one.For me, I loved the sound and for sure you can hear some of the base that we would get in TEOM.
