Andrea, I love all these videos you've done on Marilyn Monroe. I've been collecting books on Marilyn since I was 13 years old. It is worth noting, my family members can remember at the time of Marilyn Monroe's death, there was talk of foul play.

Andrea, it was either in this video or another that you mentioned having short stories/novelettes with Marilyn Monroe in your library, and that you work in theater. I am currently working on a short story/short film screenplay in the sci-fi /fantasy genre regarding her-- I don't wish to say more and spoil it. After I register it, would you recommend my starting my own website for those who may be interested in that type of thing? I am also writing a sci-fi-fi/fantasy novel, but of a different subject. Perhaps I can have one inclusive website.

Andrea's Attic The short story, while pretty much complete in my head is still in the early stages. The novel is about 2/3 typed. If you would like to have a look at the cover and synopsis it’s posted on the Warwick bass Forum in this thread (I’m a musician too). There are also a couple of clips of the narrative as well. If it piques your interest I could send you the teaser. Mind you I wasn’t able to get through to the email in your vids description, but perhaps there’s another way. Here’s the link if you’d like to have a look- images.app.goo.gl/ujednE7YA9k1qJQk6 Thank you for interest and pleasant videos-

Andrea's Attic Andrea, Happy New Year to you! Just to let you know, I’ve since met an illustrator and will most likely present the Marilyn short story in graphic format that could easily be transformed into a teleplay that I believe fans would appreciate. So please be patient as I have a few other projects to finish before I do so. These things do take time. But in the meantime I must say that I find your various videos and commentaries comforting-

Andrea's Attic I just finished it as a 27 page short film screenplay (approximately that many minutes in screen time) and this morning submitted it to the U.S. Copyright office and to the 2020 Script Pipeline screenwriter’s contest which will select a winner in August (first prize 25,000 and runner up 2500 USD). Not that I expect to win, but at least I know it will be seen by some who may like it. Cheers and thank you for the “Cursum Perficio” recommendation. It just came in today.

What do you think of the celebrated Biographer Lois Banner’s Book,” Marilyn: The Passion and the Paradox?” Have you heard of it / read it? It has very good reviews on Amazon. Lois is a retired Professor who lives in Los Angeles.

It's good, has a lot of information on Marilyn's family. I liked it a lot. If you want to learn more about Marilyn's death, which is a book of its own, google Box 39,Marilyn Monroe, For future readers obviously!

Hi Andrea, I tried to contact you via email with a biography question but it was declared undeliverable. So I hope you don’t mind if I pose the question here- When I was a young university student in the summer of 1981 or 1982 an aunt came to visit us. She had brought a Marilyn Monroe biography in a trade paperback format, and though I was not a Monroe aficionado, I did browse through it. That was when I learned that she had died of an overdose at a young age. This book had photos, the last and most upsetting of which was one of her body in profile on an autopsy table. I’m guessing this bio must have been published or reprinted for the 20th anniversary of her death. Do you have any idea what the title or author might’ve been? If so, how would this one rate? I remember very little of it to be honest, except I think it suggested that Marilyn did not necessarily want to die so much as to escape the misery of consciousness.

The first book in which this photo was published was Goddess the secret lives of Marilyn Monroe by Anthony Summers. I think this must be the book you are referring to hope this helps

Andrea's Attic I’m sorry to bother you again, but do you know who Marilyn’s referring to in the chapter ‘My first love” in My Story? She doesn’t say his real name in the book. is it the alleged surfer boyfriend (Tommy Zahn)? or is it someone else?
@andreasattic1830

No problem it is believed her first love as mentioned was Fred Karger

These comments are really old so I'm just leaving this comment for anyone who might see it in the future. J Randy Taraborelli's book on Marilyn is excellent if you want to learn about Marilyn's family- her Mom, her "Aunt Grace",half sister,her real father, etc. He really goes into detail, I appreciated his efforts. I found the story about Marilyn going out to the desert to see her real father to be so sad because he has been found out to be the real father by DNA testing since that book was published. He wouldn't see her,wouldn't even come to the door after she drove out there.

biographies which don't cover the circumstances of her death are incomplete IMO

Marilyn's death is complicated enough to be its own book. Anyone reading that wants to know about Marilyn's death should Google Box 39, Marilyn Monroe.
