Scenes from Marilyn's rarely seen film following All About Eve and The Asphalt Jungle as a femme fatale. have also included her scenes while watching in the audience. Hope all Marilyn fans love.
@K S: Yes, Marilyn had a pretty voice, but she had lung problems and couldn't really belt things out. Her breathy singing WAS NOT an act. She didn't have lung capacity. I think today she would have been diagnosed with COPD.
@@marilynking3350 Marilyn was CONSTANTLY being treated for "respiratory" illnesses and they weren't fake. She smoked. (It was hidden from public view, but she smoked off and on.) She had x-rays, (which were later sold, of course), taken of her chest and lungs because her doctor(s) felt it was warranted. Her breathy voice in speaking was half act and half NECESSITY. Marilyn had weak lungs!! I have a zillion Marilyn Monroe books and it wasn't so much the books putting it all together, but me coming to that conclusion based on the medical information in the texts. I come from a family with serious lung diseases and issues, so I have a bit of knowledge in this area. I hope this answers your question. Blessings to you, Marilyn King. Just as a P.S.: Yes, her singing voice was weak, but where a song called for tenderness, Marilyn nailed it.
RIP My sweetheart. You are the best actress of all times and even if everyone try to be like you noone has a your finesse yet your lucky and your eyes that means you'd soul.
No one could ever replace marilyn monroe all of the actresses in Hollywood are nothing like her we once had a one of kind actress that was the sweetest person of all gorgeous as can be and the smartest of all time
Some people mentioned that her voice is so different in this one. Check out Scudda Hoo Scooda Hay! That was Norma Jean's voice. She gave up on that really fast. I love Marilyn! She created the greatest movie icon in the history of movies! Wonderful!
True! You should hear her last interview to Life Magazine, 3 days before "they" "suicided" her. You listen to her and as the reporter noticed, that was not a suicidal girl talking to him. Her voice is like music and her laugh makes you smile with her. Her last words "Don't make me a joke" followed by laughter. He said he looked back and she waved good bye. Her photographer who was making a book with her had an appointment for the following Monday. You should listen to that voice. It is not too breathy actually, it is very natural. Anyway, a big fan and admirer here! Regards!
The studios created MM, not Norma Jean. The studios owened that iconic symbol, that's why they decided to kill her, cause they knew she would worth more dead, and being eternally young. She was a product, not a person, her real persona was forever lost.
@@EduardoBuenoamigo In later years, Richard Meryman, (Yes, one "R" in Meryman), the interviewer from Life magazine, said that Marilyn was unstable. He said Marilyn bounced from subject to subject and from MOOD to MOOD. She would be happy and buoyant and then she would switch to angry, sad and paranoid. (All while drinking champagne even though her doctors considered her an alcoholic.) Marilyn was a WRECK in her last 4 years of life, (and especially in her last two years), sadly. Nothing could have saved this woman. She was too ill and there was no treatment for a woman with her "issues". She was bi-polar and is suspected of having Borderline Personality Disorder. They can barely treat those illnesses TODAY, let alone in the 50's and 60's. Rest in Love, dear Marilyn. REST IN LOVE.
Marvelous montage of stills & clips ! THANKS so much for uploading for us to enjoy ! A sheer & delight to see Marilyn so early in her career ! Hubba hubba ! She was no Marie Dressler, but Ms Monroe was certainly one hot dish in her day !
she looks beautiful. her singing on 'file my claim' was so very good, some of her best work! but as for her speaking, her acting coach natasha had her do this exaggerated pronunciation and breathy thing, and the effect was so contrived and almost comical. they also told her to be sure her smile didn't expose the gums above her front teeth. too bad she was made to abandon the natural voice she had in years before this.
I agree - Mickey said many things through the years that somehow make me question their validity - what in the world would make anyone believe that he gave her the name "marilyn" -
That guy alongside Marilyn ... I recognize him .. He played Lt. Rip Masters on the old Rin Tin Tin television series from the 50's. There's Pat O'Brien and Milburn (Doc Adams) Stone, too.
I'm not sure marilyn would make it to what she became with these kind of roles. She definitely looks great and acts great, but we can say it by knowing her MM iconic persona. Through marilyn's character she made it to such a big platform in Hollywood's arena.
You got to laugh....”oh brother” as she stares at Mickey Rooney as if to say, you think your famous! Baby, I’m going to be famous Forever! And almost 70 years later we still Love M.M. while Rooney is forgotten virtually.
She seems older in this. The music reminds me of some of Blondies songs-sung by Debbie Harry in similar style. Who knows who influenced Marilyn -it seemed forced.
Good christ, this movie looks annoying. Perhaps it's because I have a serious allergy to Mickey Rooney, I don't know. The idea that he's yelling his head off for a full hour and 15 minutes makes one shudder. But this was released *after* "Eve" and "Asphalt"? Contract thing, I guess. Whew.
