This is a simple recipe for Baby Back ribs (back ribs). Marinate overnight in pineapple Juice, one cup of soy sauce, a large sweet onion, chopped garlic, and a chopped jalapeño pepper. Use your favorite rub and glaze with your favorite BBQ sauce if you like. These went on the pit (drum smoker) for five hours and were spritzed with a mixture of Bud Lite Lime beer and Coca Cola, two to three times during the smoke.
Hickory wood was used for the smoke.
The tasted and texture- Excellent! Very juicy and tender. This recipe is a keeper!!!

Beautiful Baby Backs, a lot of folks don’t bother marinating ribs. However, I’m beginning to think it is a good idea. Your ribs looked awesome. I don’t like fall off bone ribs either. I agree about the Weber lighter cubes those things get hot enough to ignite ice! However, this time of year with temps in the upper 90°s, if i don’t store them inside in the air conditioning they get kind of gooey. Great UDS cook.

Thank you Sir. Appreciate the comments. Thank you for the tip on the wax cubes. It’s in the 90’s here. I better bring them in. Yes, marinating did wonders. Definitely worth experimenting around with.

Great video!! TIP: get an old school sprinkler key... cut “U” off the end, reverse the “U” and weld back on the rod creating a hook. Use instead of hammer to pick up and lower basket. Hangs well with your BBQ tools.

After having some time on your uds do you prefer it to your Oklahoma joes offset? Pros and cons of each?
@SmokinwithKasket
@SmokinwithKasket 5 лет назад
Hi Seth. Actually they both are unique in their own way. If I had to, I would give up my Oklahoma Joe. The UDS will yield the same results with much less effort. The temps. remain very stable throughout the cook with less work on managing a fire. The oklahoma Joe however, offers a way of grilling if needed over the fire box and the art of managing a fire to maintain the desired temperature is very fulfilling and the fact that you can burn wood, charcoal or both in the OJ offers another level of options. The UDS is an amazing machine much like the Webber Kettle. This really is a difficult choice betweeen the two. Thanks for your support and interest here at our channel. Happy Smokin'

@@SmokinwithKasket thank you for your speedy reply. I enjoy your channel quite a bit. Do you recall roughly how much it cost to make your drum smoker? I'm a welder in a fab shop so metalwork would be no issue. I also saw that Oklahoma Joe's recently released a new model called the bronco. It is their take on a UDS. It looks to be very good quality but sells for $300.
