Her English is soo much more polished with almost none of her French inflections left. To think of where she started in 2007 and now. Time goes by so fast!
Canada is it's own country and although we are on the North American subcontinent, we are often not referred to as "American", as the term had been hijacked by the United States of America. Besides, let's face it, nobody wants to be associated with them anyway. USA has marvelous actresses as you put it, but let's not forget the other marvelous actresses from all over the world.
I prefer some french movies. France is the most productive contry actually, all in relation of course. And Hollywood remakes all our movies but usually turn out awful; but True Lies was a good remake, and the one with Russel Crowe too. Nearly every year a french movie is top success of the year
I'm French, don't get me wrong ^^ I love English actresses, french actresses spanish, italian, japanese, whatever, THAT IS NOT MY POINT, my point is as much as I love Marion Cotillard, she is not better than an entire country, I'm sorry if I'm a little agressive but it's like the 6th time I write the same thing in my answers....
Canada is in america right? anyway that's not my point, USA has marvelous actress, and it would be really stupid to forget about their amazing career just because of Marion Cottilard, whom I love but next to Meryl Streep, she's still a baby actress
which still leaves Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Marilyn Monroe, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Roberts, Orpah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Jenifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Emma Robert, Grace Kelly, Rachel Mcadams, Amanda Seyfried, which is still a pretty God damn big bunch of amazing AMERICAN actress !!
no :) in my first revie to which you responded I was responding to ILoveFriedFetus, whom claimed than Marion Cotillard was worth more than all the women in america...
they're not my actresses, not my culture, I'm sorry If I'm mistaken but I'm pretty sure that besides Marion Cottillard and Audrey Tautou you couldn't even tell me one french actress
you cannot even list American actesses...Ellen Page is Canadian, Natalie Portman is Israeli, Audrey Heburn is Belgian born British,Helena Bonham Carter is also British...
Ellen Page, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Helena Bonham Carter, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, and so many other ? you realise that most of the amazing movies you watch are American, with American actresses, and as much as I adore Marion, it's plenty stupid to judge an entire country.....
But your American movies win quality by adding European actresses. Have you heard of Kate Winslet? Keira Knightley? Carey Mulligan? Why do you use them in your movies if you have plenty of good actresses? Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of American actors, but you have to admit that Europe also have some top class actors. Just look how many Europeans have won the Oscar. Peace!
