I love that “the things I can do” isn’t Mark saying he’s too important for college. He’s afraid of trying to live a normal life when he knows he’s a murderer, when he knows if he loses control he could kill someone again.
Only a monster kills without feeling. While Mark was justified, since Levy was insane and ready to kill Debbie and Oliver, the fact is that he is now afraid of his real power. That is what makes him different from Nolan and the other Viltrumites, understanding just how much damage he can really cause if he isn't careful.
@@vbar964 Yea do people not remember when he fought that Viltrumite lady with hair blade and how he froze when he had the upperhand and should've finished the fight and she took advantage of his hesitation and stabbed him in the stomach?
@@hoodgoth1If we are both talking about THAT scene, it’ll probably happen by the time of like season 4- 5 The down HORRENDOUS fools won’t be able to get their sauce till like 2067
From what I see he's bassicly the Spiderman equivalent of invincible. The writers just love to put my boy through hell . I haven't read the comics , but I know THAT event with Anissa , and a few more , and oohh brother .... He'll need alot of hugs to recover
Acted like any son would EXCEPT he clearly wasn't aware of the scope of his capabilities. The problem is he kept on bashing while the body was dead already
I mean whilst not stated, he's been through so much since then, its gotta be all adding up. I think it's why he kept saying you weren't there to Cecil, he didn't see a difference between what Nolan did to him and what he did to Angstrom. This finale hit so much different than s1, but just as hard
It starts. The wave of emotional anguish and self-torture. The over-emotional impasse of wondering whether or not we’re still ourselves, or we have now become what we hate, what we feared to become in the future. This is THAT moment for Mark!
I love those words that Cecil comforts Mark with: “Bad guys are usually the ones who break people’s arms”. At some point a man like Cecil has to boil morality down to something like that to do what they do. Simplistic of a principle as it is, it’s what Mark needs to hear.
The more I think about it, Mark got extremely lucky that when he lost control it was in an unpopulated wasteland. If this had happened in a city or more populated area it could of been REAL BAD.
1:55 there's a dimension where they didn't show up and he ended up eating angstrom or what was left of him this is the same verse where cannibal mark was created.
@@MCNarret Yes Ansgtrom is unique. He mad that up. What he is referring to is and event occured after "invincible wars" where Ansgtrom teamed up with alternate dimension marks to hunt ours down, and betrayed them at the end by sending them to that deserted world. Only one make remained, who survived feeding up from other marks that was stranded with him. Thats the not made up story of the cannibal mark.
Nope. That was evil mark with the cape and Black goggles. That's the one who becomes the cannibal. And he eats the other evil Marks who Angstrom strands there with him btw
just the mix of the song in the background while showing Mark's PTSD aftermath and remembering all he's been throught make this a very powerful and emotional scene, makes you actually feel his pain
I think this show is more realistic when it comes to heroism than any other things I watched. It taps the reality of having PTSD and the importance of power and how hard it is to live normally when everyone u love is in danger everyday
I love the mental journey Mark takes from "I had to do it." and then he walks it through all the way to make sure he's aware of what he did and why. He doesn't want to leave it as a justification. He hates what he did. But he wanted it. And not for the right reasons, but definitely for VALID reasons.
In Mark's defence, Angstrom deserved every punch, and every inch of his body being turned into jam All versions of Invincible but this is a good guy, while all versions of Angstrom, but that one, was victim, but it isn't anything that allowed him to be such SOAB
I like how cecils behavior contrasts to how he was in episode 1 of season 2 where he had doubts about who mark was but this definitely prooved to cecil that mark is a good egg and wouldn't willing kill anyone.
Towards the end of this season, Cecil and Donald have really pushed the older adult/almost parental figure (grandparent/uncle) with other characters. Part of me genuinely wonders how me of it in the series will continue to appear legitimate vs. how much is to reach specific goals. Cecil sounds like he is both trying to reassure Mark and convincing himself that this will not turn out like it did with Nolan/Omni-man even if that means stepping into the role of father figure/grandpa for Mark. Will he keep his word to Debbie about looking out for him? I kind of hope so but have my reservations on the subject.
It’d be nice for Mark to have explained to Debbie that he couldn’t live more than 100 years functioning as a same named practitioner of medicine 😂 wouldn’t make sense for a lot of humans
*One act pushes anybody limits even it meant to protect ones family & regret the actions later. He really tried to be different than his dad (even his Viltramite culture)* 😢
The "i thought you were stronger" line can mean 2 things... 1) he's referring to himself... belittling himself over his inability to control himself. 2) he's referring to Angstrom... he thought Angstrom was stronger and would've survived~ the onslaught.
Angstrom had zero justification for going after Mark. If he hated him because of the evil versions then he should have gone after them instead of the good one and his innocent mother and brother.
Angstrom was insane by that point the good Mark did/the fact he wasn’t evil ran against literally every other memory of Mark from the other universes where he was evil. To him at this point it was utterly inconceivable there was a “good” Mark and not one who didn’t deserve to die. He was thrashing around and raging at the very *idea* of having saved Mark.
@@thomasraines1396 Mark isn’t angry that he killed him but HOW he killed him. A dog with rabies should be shot once with a gun, not get its brains bashed in. Basically the same mentality. But still Angstrom admitted the best scientists in other universes couldn’t fix him. Mark ended Angstrom’s suffering either way.
It's not that Mark didn't have a choice, he did make a choice and chose to kill Angstrom. What matters is that he made the right choice. Angstrom threatened a defenseless a nine month old baby and beat an innocent woman. Mark may not have wanted to, but it's something that he should do. Him wanting to kill Angstrom to protect his family is the most human thing a person can do.
5hat not exactly what he meant he thought he emotionally stronger than that at end of the day mark is a human and vilamiet I know I spelled it wrong I really do try.
Mark you lose yourself for a mintune everyone does that but i understand why you scared of doing it again but under thouse conditions no one in there right mind would not lose all control again with your power set it okay to scared of this happening again. Madye condier rejoining the guardains haveing other people around you that can help however little can still help you stop that form this happening again.
How so? He punched a man until he was dead, how is that not by definition killing someone? Murder, sure, that would be inaccurate. Not exactly premeditated.
I don't watch the show but I saw this clip on reels and don't blame him. The massive head dude said he'd hurt his family. I'd be the same too Mark... When the worlds bad, you got to save what little joy you have in the world and never let anyone take it from you. Be greedy.
Just because the world around you became bad doesn't mean YOU have to, even if we all think it's "fair". Not trying to say it's wrong but we can't act like this is perfectly fine because it's really just an excuse to do bad and get away with it.
Question. Is this how people are supposed to feel should they ever be met with a reality of having to kill someone? I have not had that to happen to me, but watching these kind of clips i fail to see the ptsd consept. If someone is trying to kill you, why would you feel bad killing them?
Mark isn't a normal person. He is a superhero and has always idolized that concept and the moral good that it is supposed to represent. He is incredibly hard on himself to do the right thing to the point of neglecting his needs as an individual. This moral strength though is what he has clung to and allowed him to keep getting back up in the face of so many traumatic events he has been through throughout this series. By killing Angstrom, even if Angstrom deserved it, he proves that he is not the ideal he has tried to live up to and all the trauma he has managed to compartmentalize until now is crushing him. Basically, he "thought he(himself) was stronger..."
Like a comment above me said, his rage, his bloodlust, and even the way he attacked Angstrom at the end, it reminded him of what his father could do, and he's scared that since he has the same powers, and he crossed the line once, what's gonna happen if he keeps crossing the line? How much destruction could he cause?
There is a sinister parallel between Sinclair and Anstrong. They are both extremely intelligent humans who seek to create a utopia, and that makes them more dangerous than any other villain whose only purpose is to steal or kill. Both characters are foolish enough to believe they can play God. And foolish people with power do a lot of damage. The biggest crimes in the past century were committed by humans with a completely broken moral compass who thought they were doing good. And they brought hell to Earth, Both Sinclair and Anstrong hurt people in Mark's personal circle, and of course, he reacted in a different way than he would if they did it to anonymous civilians. While Mark in his confrontation with Sinclair avoided killing him (despite destroying his jaw) in the case of Armstrong he could not do the same. Mark was quite angry and stressed after that hostage situation with his family, Armstrong did not fall unconscious when he started hitting him and he was teleporting him to several universes, so he lost his cool for longer than with Sinclair. Obviously Armstrong had to die to prevent his madness from causing irreparable damage, and he was suffering enormously so death was a relief for him. No one blames Mark for killing him, he didn't give her much choice and it was an accident anyway. But this sends an ominous message to Invincible. He still doesn't know how to control his strength and he still doesn't have the nerves of steel to face a hostage situation, especially if they are known people. Obviously he has PTSD and a hard time, since killing is not something that leaves you indifferent. Plus, there's the whole thing with Omni Man and the Viltrumites, so that adds even more pressure on him.
This ending is kinda lame, Mark killed a guy that wanted to kill his family and cried for straight minute about it but when he realized he cannot come back from this dimension to see his family he was like "that's a shame".
This is just setting up for what's to come, buddy. If you read the comics, you'd know this is just building up for Mark questioning his morals as a hero.
It'd be a gamble. He has no idea if the planets are the same, or if they'd have a breathable atmosphere. Plus so far when he's traveled into space it's been for brief moments. Moon and back at best. He's not certain of how far he could go before running out of air.
What exactly do you mean here? It is pretty rational to recognize that going to college isn't really a good choice for him as he really needs to give his 100% to being a better hero, especially with the threat of the Viltrumites.
@@joelsasmad that after he got some of it out the supper fast flight it was because he was problems with not fast effort to save his loved ones amber and his mom and brother he letting some serious steam the so munch so he think clearly again
Angstrom was wrong. He wasn't stronger. He could NEVER match up to a Viltrumite's strength. Mark, listen to me. Levy went after your mother and little brother. He broke her arm. Those actions alone were automatic death sentences. 🙁
@@origamipein18 Why did you respond? You CAN ignore me if you have a problem with my comment. And at least, I'm not being THAT serious with my response even if it's weird that you're directly talking to a fictional character about why you think he shouldn't feel bad about that moment.
@@origamipein18 Not at all. You're mistaking your comment for role play which is what most folks normally do. What you did is not role play or w.e. you think is normal. It's weird much like Mark talking to himself.
He felt bad because he lost control. Losing control means if he was slightly angered he would put everyone around him in danger. And that is not something he never wants to do because succumbing to anger and violence would make him no different to Omniman and all the other Viltrumites.
You know what I dont understand when Allen the alien was searching for mark they telepathy talk to each other, but when Mark was trying to stop a metor he was talking perfectly with his father why can't he do that when immortal attacked allen
