I like to think that in the beginning there, it’s not that Robot gave the twins bad schematics, but that The Immortal’s rage was SO INTENSE that it broke the collar
@@aaronwynn333 I agree. I mean it looked like the collar worked AT FIRST. But then it stopped because he was so filled with rage that it made the collar short circuit.
It is possible I mean Robot was planning to take them back to prison. And the Maulers are smart they would figure it out if it's a fake thing they get probably
I love Immortal because he singlehandedly disproves Omni-Man's worldview just by existing. He's been alive way longer than 500 years, and he still dedicates his life to truth and justice. Like he's literally Abraham Lincoln with superpowers. I hope he mentors Mark a bit in the future seasons when it comes to learning to deal with functional immortality in a healthy way.
If the shows follows the same path as the comics, eventually a few hundred years in the future, his immortality has driven him insane and he took over the world because he lost sight of the point of life. When a pair of time travelers bring Mark to their time to get help, Immortal asks Mark to kill him because he can't handle it anymore, and nobody on Earth is strong enough to do it. To be totally fair to Immortal, though, that's literally something like 2.5 million years spent as a protector of life before he eventually lost it.
@@dr.veronica6155That was an alternate universe. Mark kills Robot (whole different story) but preserves his brain to help guide immortal to build a Utopia for Earth.
@@soljafon Yeah, I'd argue with equal durability Immortal wins this fight. He has the upper hand on Omni Man for most of this it, albeit Nolan is distracted with trying to help Mark (and due to the fact a dude he murdered 8 months ago is currently punching him in the face) but his attacks just do less cause of how durable Viltrumites are.
@@agc2757 Thars why he is Superhuman! Indeed, the Immortal, could be defeated by a Viltrumite teenager. Viltrumites are incredibly powerful, and their overall surpass that of most other beings. Even a young Viltrumite would likely pose a significant challenge to the Immortal. the most advantege of The Immortal is reisilence and Experience
The yellow part of his costume is the I from the Image Comics logo, which is an awesome detail. He’s kinda like Image’s mascot nowadays, aside from SPAWN of course
The first thing he does from waking up from the dead is run Omni Man's fade and he went down trying to gouge out his eyes for the sake of revenge, he was a real one
No question he's the strongest human in the series at this point. He puts up a far better fight against Omni-Man than Mark did, and the Maulers were explicitly expecting him to be able to solo the entire current Guardians of the Globe, including Mark.
And it really seems like he could, here he's at least as strong as Omniman, just not as durable. Mark seems too inexperienced to defeat The Immortal, and the rest of the New Guardians likely lack the offensive power to keep up with them.
@@gamingandwhatevs Mark vs Immortal is way closer than you think. Now that Mark's finally recovered from Battle Beast, the cyborgs, and Omni-Man, I think Mark can beat Immortal with a 50% of winning. He just isn't as experienced.

Lmfao, if Immortal was as strong then Nolan wouldn't be able to casually stuff his fist through him, what a load of bullshit. Season 1 Mark Vs Immortal? Good fight.
@@122q3 Yea as far as I know they both are incredibly strong. The issue is that The Immortal is still technically human while Omni-Man is a viltrumite which has way more durability than a human.
I like to think immortal could have taken on the pre purge viltrumites. He managed to do more than the stupid hammer sky laser with just a few punches, he just lacks durability. If he could staple himself together instead of having to get the mauler twins to mid battle then he could contend with at least mark, maybe not Omni man though
@@122q3 The show did a very good job at making that apparent. I can see he is able to do some damage to Omni-Man and injure his eyes but as far as recovery goes, he can't take nearly as much punishment or heal as fast.
It may be fair to call Immortal the world's second-strongest super after Omni-Man. Mind you, his berserk rage probably pushed him past his normal limits.
The fact he knew he wasn't a match for Omni Man and still went balls to the wall ballistic in whooping his ass speaks volumes about the Immortal's bravery and rage.
@theunseenpath I mean, I think this fight makes it pretty clear he is not, in fact, a match for Omniman. He was just the closest to being so (but still very far off).

You have to respect Immortal here, he was killed in the most brutal way by Omni-man, then he was resurrected and the first thing he did? Try to kill Omni-man!
I don’t care how tough you are, imagine seeing someone you murdered 8 months ago flying straight towards you with visible pure primordial rage on their face yelling *”YOU BASTARD!!”* Even Nolan must’ve been sh*tting his pants to some degree.
3:16 I love the brief little moment of “oh shit, he’s actually got hands” on Omni-Man’s face here. It wasn’t close, but he actually took Nolan off guard with how long he lasted.
even though immortal wasn't strong enough to deal any real damage he did throw some pretty good combos and i feel that immortal could've lasted longer if it weren't for him using the same telegraphed attack
@@FGCtrash SPOILER ALERT well he dose later on say they were his friends when he was going to kill them after mark got a second chance to rewrite his past mistakes.
Watching these fight scenes again you can really feel the OOMPF of all of these hits, it genuinely feels like these guys are just powerhouses who can’t be stopped by normal means, it just makes it feel more engaging, I love it
I 100% love how in the beginning of the show the Mauler twins were ready to LITERALLY BOX with immortal, but after reviving him and seeing him mad they wanted absolutely non of the smoke.
Everyone wanted to fight Mike Tyson during his peak, but once they stepped into the ring with him, they regretted it before the first punch was thrown This here reminds me of this
The Maulers knew what they were getting the first time - at worst beat up and sent to jail. This time... Honest Abe didn't look like he was down to just put them in jail
There’s something about immortal I love and is so intriguing. He’s lives through all of humanity and defends it til the bitter end. That’s chilling. Even if he gets fucked up. The eye gouging was so god damn cool and just showed you how dedicated he was. He will be back
@@proudlywild1491yeah even tho omni man is way more durable I feel like immortal was just smacking the shit out of him prevent him from landing a killing blow like we saw at the end when omniman had enough of it and made sure to get a lethal shot in before getting staggered.
@@proudlywild1491he will Probably be the only character left at the end of the show because he literally will live forever and in theory means he will just be able to kill everyone after a while
For those wondering why immortal didn’t kick so much ass at the beginning of the show, it’s probably because he was caught off guard and was fighting more like a hero, not wanting to kill becomes he mostly likely thought Omni man could be saved. Here he is seeking revenge after he and his friends were brutally murdered, therefore being so unbelievably Furious that he basically went super sayian.
Sort of like the Doomsdays effect. Whatever kills or hurts doomsdays will not effect him a second time in the rematch. Neck snap, hard neck, armor piecing through the chest, bone chest armor, drowning, maybe gills or doesn't breathe. So in this case Immortal might if this is the case have a strong back and/or chest durability increase
I mean he and war woman seemed to have caused more damage ok the first fight. Afterall they were laying down punched on omniman and he lost a lot of blood where as here he matched him for strength but didn’t cause a lot of blood loss.
For those saying that Immortal isn't actually in Omni-Man's league as far as strength is concerned, take a look not only at all the blood he draws in this fight, but also at 2:33. Omni-Man is holding up his guard for the next punch, and Immortal breaks that guard in a single hit. He's definitely Viltrumite tier as far as strength is concerned. Especially when you consider that Omni-Man is in the top 3 Viltrumites alive right now. The only 2 stronger than him are Conquest and Thragg. Also, take a look at 3:16. After the two hit each other (which I'll point out resulted in Omni-Man going flying back while the Immortal instantly regained his composure), Immortal screams that he'll kill Omni-Man, and at 3:16 you can plainly see Omni-Man's face, which seems legitimately concerned about the prospect that that might actually happen.
2:33 wasn't a strength scan but a skill one. He didn't brute force his way through Nolans guard, he had led Nolan to make a mistake which left him open for the follow up. Left hand played the part of a feint, not meant for an actual punch as it is to mislead, which gave immortal a crack through Nolans defense, hence the right fist winding up and ultimately crashing down on Nolans face. A++ for effort but honestly, the fact that the punch didn't do as much damage as it could have provided he was stronger - it suggests that Immortal is much more weaker than Nolan than what meets the eye.
@@dt_grey4521 I meant to imply that as powerful as he is, he still retains a physiology that causes him to be outclassed by beings who are biologically superior. Such as Viltrumites. Or Allen the “Super” Alien.
In the first episode we got to see Immortal in action with the other Guardians, and we saw that all of them were genuine heroes, protecting vulnerable people before anything else. I think that's one reason why so many viewers have taken a shine to the Immortal. He has the power, but he also has the heart.
I don’t even think Omni-man was nerfed from the comics, Immortal just got a MASSIVE buff. He was able to draw blood and visibly stagger Omni-man with each blow, and even temporarily stun him.
The fact that immortal is roughly around the same age as Noland and yet still values the lives of humanity is something that disproves the belief that Omni man has...that outlasting everyone will make them not care about humanity...immortal is the real hero
Immortal loses his humanity and mind in the future at compendium 2 invincible goes to the future for a small time and kills immortal there because immortal unironically asks for it and when mark says that he cant he attacks him
Immortal is far, *far* older than Nolan. Given that he came from caveman times, that could be anywhere from 200,000 years ago to 10,000 years ago, meaning he's *at least* more than a dozen times older than Nolan.
@@cankafal6930that’s not suprising, imagine being burdened with the weight of managing humanity for hundreds of thousands of years, he’s older than all viltrumites.
He sorta makes me think of Vandal Savage if he was mixed with Shazam or Black Adam without the lightning powers cause of how powerful he is compared to Omniman
I think a lot of people are downplaying Immortal here and are outright forgetting that Nolan is of royal blood and is one of the strongest Viltrumites alive. He's also a lot more powerful in the show than he is in the comics. Immortal would likely curbstomp a lot of other Viltrumites like Thula, who Nolan effortlessly kills soon after this within seconds. Thula was nearly fodderized by Mark, and she was only getting hits in on him and nearly killed him because he's incapable of not holding back at this point. Imagine if she fought Immortal.
Absolutely not. The Immortal would die if he challenged her, (Amazon) Invincible has inconsistent powerscaling at times. Which explains why Mark even stood a chance against her, and she had multiple chances to Kill Mark earlier in their fight. Thula is like arguably top 10 within her legion, and the Immortal couldn’t even hurt Invincible with his punches, so he’s definitely not hurting her.
@gabrielsykes4125 Immortal made Omniman bleed, yes I know it was off guard, Nolan was tired and hit with powerful ray and those half dead man robots, but still that's an impressive feat, Omniman let his guard down and Immortal punched him, he even made him bleed, and Omniman is stronger than Thula, I'm saying that maybe Immortal not on omniman level, but totally stronger than low class or normal viltrumites, and he would win against Thula
@gabrielsykes4125 Alternate Immortal was literally about to kill alternate Mark and had him by the throat. Mark had to be saved by his dad last second. It's also heavily implied that evil versions of Mark are stronger than our Mark. What are you talking about?
He may have died…again, but at least he exposed Omni-man to the world, and gave him a decent fight, and almost gouged his eyes out. That’s more than most could say.
I love how the Mauler twins see how unhinged the Immortal is and just go "Yeah want none of that". Essentially the same guys who decided to wage war on the White House by themselves took one look and decided to back away slowly.
Looks like in his long life the Immortal has been King Arthur and Pres. Lincoln. Omni-Man is such a shit-heel that he made King Arthur and Pres. Lincoln fly into a blind murderous rage.
He's actually a Celtic warrior, lancelot, one of the sailor when colombus discovered America, fought in the revolutionary war(sided with the American ofc), Abe Lincoln, fought in ww1/2, and then superhero immortal
Mach 3 is 3 times faster than sound So either: - Viltrumites have super hearing - Immortal screamed WAY earlier OR! And this is my headcanon cause it's so funny and badass - Immortal is so angry, he's screaming so hard, his voice travels MORE than 3 TIMES FASTER than SOUND! You know, the thing that dictates hearing
Its worth mentioning that Omni-man is a strong viltrumite and a respected warrior among them. Immortal could throw hands with other viltrumites and likely win
I think I'm this scene Omni man just wasn't going to his full power, if you look in the scene where he destroys a planet he's going full power, there's parts to where he's going so fast he's splitting the atoms behind him and causing nuclear explosions.
Also omniman has super hearing right? How did he not know Donald was across the road with a team listening in? How did omniman hear Debbie talking to art? How did omniman not get deafened by the literal explosion he was in after Donald blew it up? I understand it's difficult to be consistent but god
@@DrumCoversFromHell Super hearing in heroes is almost always a focus thing, since if it was just a constant passive loud noises would be extremely effective as a debilitating strategy
Also i’m fairly sure he didn’t necessarily hear Donald at first, the soldier he killed was trying to make her way over to that house and so he got suspicious, given the fact his whole house and neighborhood was evacuated
It’s actually impressive how much damage the immortal was able to do to Omni man. I like to think that immortal is on the same level as a low level vliltrumite but still massively outclassed by Nolan.
What i love about this is that this is the typical 90's cartoon trope of the evil guys take one of the heroes and either brainwash or collar them (think Phoenix from the OG x-men cartoon) before 'friendship' or some horseshit brings them back. Here Immortal was like "I DONT HAVE TIME FOR YOUR BULLSHIT!" and breaks the cliche's back. 10/10
@@christiansmith9456 What I love about Invincible is that it both deconstructs tropes and plays them straight, it's not a pure deconstruction like The Boys (which I also love, but in a different way) but more of a blend.
3:11 Damn!! he actually had more strength than omniman in that attack. Only if he were more durable like onmiman, he could have lasted far longer. but still, compared to first time, he did 1000 times better here. That anger really boosted his strength to insane level.
It looks like he's just as strong but not as durable. I mean he is the immortal. It means he cant die but it doesnt mean he cant be hurt. So he isn't as invulnerable as omni.
I love the look on the twins’ faces when they back away. These guys are so fun to watch and are definitely my favorite villains alongside Machine Head.
The Immortal is so cool! He's just a cave man cursed to roam the Earth forever with an eternity's worth of pent-up rage. All they have to do is sew him back together and he'll go right back to doing his thing
@@Solotocius That's pretty racist; there would be nothing wrong with him being Celtic, and that face paint is clearly indicative of either that or some Scandinavian culture. Both are incredibly badass regardless
bro immortal is so dope. he knew he wasn't a phyhsical match for omni man but he gave zero fucks and wanted all the smoke. he did the most damage to him besides maybe the roided kaiju
Usually in anime, when someone's power level outclasses another's, they'll do a scene where the inferior character will launch a flurry of attacks, or some great technique against the superior character, and it'll do nothing. Here we see a more subtle rating of power. The Immortal can still hurt Omni Man. He can hit him, stagger him, make him lose his balance and even make him draw blood. But when Omni Man attacks The Immortal- it's much more violent and looks like it does a lot more damage. Each punch bruises him, paints blood across the sky, disfigures his face, sends him flying. It's nice, concise action and clearly shows the audience that The Immortal has no chance.
I love how Omni-man on the first impact with Immortal, wanted to kill him then and there but as soon as he noticed that his son was desperatly calling him, he TRIED to push immortal away to priorotize rescuing his son but Immortal would knock him down everytime.
Really hope that we see the Immortal gain the strength to fight on par with Viltumites. He doesn’t need to be able to beat Omniman, but let him cook at least one Viltrumite
He actually can. Nolan is a very powerful Viltrumite, and will only get slower stronger as he ages. Not anything crazy, but a few years before he’d die of old age and is still a beast? Definitely more powerful than he is now. The Immortal can definitely smoke a few foot soldiers
This version of Immortal can already fight on par with Viltrumites. Nolan is of royal blood, and is literally the third strongest Viltrumite alive at this point. Amazon Immortal would likely curbstomp Lucan and Thula considering how much better he fared against Nolan than they did. Thula and Lucan went down within seconds, with Lucan only managing to incapacitate Nolan with a surprise attack and flying full force into his back. One of the things the writer said he regretted about the source material was making Immortal and the rest of the GoTG so weak. So far, the Immortal has been massively beefed up from his comic counterpart. He wasn't even able to draw blood from Nolan in the comics, and now we have him nearly gouging his eyes out and actually winning against him for a moment in a clash.
3:10 Rather late to the party, but look. Immortal follows up while Omni-Man was still spinning back. He either *won* a straight clash against one of the strongest Viltrumites, or was so damn pissed that he overpowered the momentum Nolan couldn't just to keep charging in. I said it when I read the comic and I'll say it again. What a beast.
I find it weird that Cecil, the guy who NEVER discards anything that could be useful to him, just gave up on trying to revive the Immortal, and buried him. Cecil: "This guy's been dying and coming back for thousands of years, but it's been a few weeks and nothing... fuck it, plant him."
@@elismuts7163 So keep him on ice. When they took the Immortal's body from the scene of the fight, they were very careful with it, sealing off his neck, and putting his head in a special stasis thing. It was obvious that there was an established protocol of what to do when Immortal got 'killed'. Just dumping his body in the ground is just counter productive. Not only do you run the risk of someone stealing the body before you are ready to revive him, (Like what happened.) You also run the risk of him reviving on his own. If he really did want to hold off on Immortal coming back, burying him in a public cemetery was the worst way to go about it.
Despite seeing the immortal getting killed by omni man again, I felt happy for him that he took a small amount of satisfaction with him by gouging his eyes out and causing him pain. What a badass
It’s too bad he didn’t find out he exposed Omni-Man’s true self to the public by “dying” to him again. It wouldn’t bring the Guardians back, but it is something.
@@infraredsg4606 Hey he would have blinded him if Omni-man didn't follow through with the bisection. Sure he didn't have a chance of winning, but this was far from a stomp.
This fight tells me that - had they known what was truly going on, and been prepared - the Guardians would have won; after all, if Omni Man didn't see them as a threat, he wouldn't have even bothered murdering them, let alone doing it surreptitiously. As others have said, The Immortal definitely looks to be on par with Omni Man's strength, he's just less durable, and Omni Man has other powers he could use to turn the tide if things got dicey. However, the Guardians had a wide array of powers that could *easily* be used to counter Omni Man, and they had many years of experience working together. I think it was the shock of the situation and the desire to not harm Omni Man any more than they had to that caused them to lose. If the scenario were, say, Cecil completely discovers Omni Man's true nature and warns the Guardians - them formulating a plan of action to defeat him when he attempts to ambush them at their base - I'm confident they would have won.
They probably would've killed him without prep if the martian manhunter ripoff either: A: did his little binding attack at the start of the fight. Or B: moved his heart to the back.
@@GokuTheSuperSaiyan1 Spoilers, but through some time travel shenanigans, Mark warns the Guardians of Nolan's betrayal and they beat him. Comics Nolan only beat them so effortlessly because he jumped them before they knew what was happening. Also they nearly killed him in the first episode so I'm not really sure why you think they're not a threat to him lmao. Immortal is basically a slightly weaker Omniman in the show and actually draws blood in their 1v1. If Immortal was bloodlusted like this in their first fight with the rest of the Guardians, Nolan would have died right there. I know some people like to insist Nolan sustained injuries on purpose to make it look like he was the only survivor, but the show literally goes against this and people are actually even more suspicious of him because he was the only survivor. There's also the fact he attempted to assassinate all of them, but Red Rush was too fast for him to do so and he got caught. So he was never intending on being seen there at all in the first place. He was going to kill them and dip out as fast as he could like in the comics. It was also because it was the only way he could kill them without struggle.
I definitely see why Omni Man went after immortal first. Seeing how immortal was hanging in there for as long as he did against Omni Man. Giving run for the money
I don't quite understand how Omni-Man can hold the beliefs he does about humanity when there are beings like Immortal who live just as long as Viltrumites and have nearly the same strength. You can't call someone that similar to you an ant, because an ant couldn't live as long as you or put up a competitive fight like that. Humans are just as capable of great power in many circumstances (in the Invincible world). The Viltrumites themselves had a damn planetary Civil war/culling before they became an Empire.
@@PokemonTrainerVince Patriotism isn't nationalism. Patriotism is just loving your country. Nationalism is taking it to a level of hatred for other countries -- and imposing your country's ideals.
Immortal's the GOAT. He literally goes right back after Omni-man mere seconds after getting resurrected, runs his shit for a little while, and when he's had his entire midsection blown out, he still dies with one last "fuck you" to Nolan by digging his fingers in his eyes.
This scene honestly has one of the best three-way battles I've ever seen, because we each have different reasons we don't want each individual side to lose. We want to see The Immortal avenge the Guardians of the Globe, but if he succeeds, Omni-man won't be able to save Mark from the Kaiju, and if Mark defeats the Kaiju, there's nothing able to stop Omni-man
Omni-man was "holding back" because he was concerned about Mark but also didn't want the world to see him kill The Immortal. Nolan had no choice but to put an end to it since The Immortal wouldn't stop.
So from what I’m seeing in terms of strength immortal can take on Omni man but it’s just that tough ass body that Omni man has that gives him the advantage.
@@FGCtrash Yes with help use your brain. And when it was only war women and immortal left he one shot them both with little effort. But i guess you can say he was also focused on killing them there, where in second round he was focused on helping Mark. And then got serious at the end, where he killed him after 20 seconds…
My favourite detail is that Immortal manages to being Omni-man’s true nature to the surface both figuratively and literally. The planet witnesses Omni-man murder Immortal (again) and his eyes literally turn red as a result. “The eyes are the window to the soul” and the whole world just saw what Nolan’s soul looks like.
He hit him like 20 times, created a shockwave and was able to push omni man back while still flying towards him, and was able to make his eyes bloodshot red while literally having a hole in his body I also forgot that he drew much more blood from Omni man than Mark did.
Immortal burying his thumbs into Omnimans eyes was a true Viltrumite move lol. Took him by surprise 🤟 Perhaps he will learn this next time to fight more dirty.
