Truly!..i get the urge for this one at very odd hours..current neighbors much quieter than last set. headphones on super loud day starts soon & with it construction& city noise too much( too few even would know who mark is..let alone me...most have guns..here. I do not ..thanks to mark..i just might make it thru another day..cleaning my imaginary gun!)
This quintet is badass. All the string players are fingerpicking-Worf on bass and Bennett picking an electric twelve string, too! Just the way MK likes. I’m with you fellers…MK is the best songwriter/vocalist/guitar player over the last four decades. Full stop.
I'll say it again for this post... This man is a pure poetic and musical genius. IMHO, the most underrated singer-songwriter/musician of the last what, 40 yrs? How can he not even be on the Rolling Stones Top 100!?!? Just wrong..
I agree whole heartedly with your description of Mark and his awesome talents........but I'm of the view that he's too good for Rolling Stones Top 100......he's in a league of 10 or less Musical Greats; I'd add Bob Seger to that list, for very same reasons as for Mark....poetic and musical genius;... and, the older I get the more I say it.....they write and sing melodies that resonate with our ears, minds and souls. We're blessed to have them in our life-times.
No air, no attitude but pure classic. That's legendary. Every one of the musicians is so secure in themselves & enjoying their part. The sheer beauty of the bass, Mark's lovely guitar playing & singing, excellent mastering & the way the video has been done (black & white), just awesome
I have very fond memories of listening to Dire Straits as a kid in the late 70s my father loved the music and played it religiously on Saturday mornings very loud it was his way of unwinding after working all week, I do the same now & my kids also love your music, Thanks for the music Mark and keep up the good work I'm sure many more generations to come will enjoy👍
Me,too well i wasnt exactly a kid in the late 70s,i heard money for nothin on the radio in my car&called my brother who was in a band&told him YOU GOTTA HEAR&HOPEFULLY LEARN THIS SONG!!Well, well,he actually did!!!!!!
Peace this autumn every body..safe& cooler labor day wished everybody..love to listen to Mark? Then we are connected by superior intellect & taste..practically family!
Truly the best songwriter and guitarist that blessed us with music in this universe. This man plays like clockwork, and every song is a tale in itself. I would love to catch him live once in my life at least!!
I will 4ever treasure being able to go backstage (Brothers in Arms tour) & meet not only Mark Knopfler, but the whole band,( both my little daughter & i, she about 4 or 5 years old, in a black motorcycle jacket like me, pink ribbons in her curls~with one of the band, think it was Charlie White, holding her for a pic
Hi dear Mark. My name Malkhaz, im from Georgia republic. thank you for your wonderful music. i was at your concert in Moscow in 2001 if i remember. it was magical. thank you very much
I keep a weather eye on the horizon, my back to the wall I like to know who's coming through the door, that's all It's the old Army training kicking in I'm not complaining, it's the world we live in Blarney and Malarkey, they're a devious firm They'll take you to the cleaners or let you burn The help is breaking dishes in the kitchen - thanks a lot We hired the worst dishwasher this place ever got Come in below the radar, they want to spoil our fun In the meantime I'm cleaning my gun Remember it got so cold ice froze up the tank We lit a fire beneath her just so she would crank I keep a weather eye on the horizon, tap the stormglass now and then I've got a case of Old Damnation for when you get here, my friend We can have ourselves a party before they come In the meantime I'm cleaning my gun We had women and a mirror ball, we had a dee jay used to eat pretty much all that came his way Ever since the goons came in and took apart the place I keep a tyre iron in the corner, just in case I gave you a magic bullet on a little chain to keep you safe from the chilly winds and out of the rain We're gonna might need bullets should we get stuck Any which way, we're going to need a little luck You can still get gas in Heaven, and a drink in Kingdom Come In the meantime I'm cleaning my gun
I Feel Always Happy when I hear your singing you always make my day I appreciate it thank you MK you are my perfect favourite even when I close my eyes when you're playing guitar I know exactly That's you nobody play like you thank you so much MK to share your music with everybody🎸🎸💜💜💕❤❤❤
Same. His performance of "Brothers in Arms" at Monserrat with an orchestra is so epic. The tambourine man goes hammer time too! Always gives me chills.
There are men who speak to the most affectionate and secretive part of our soul and so make it clear that you like to call on you: GOD BLESS YOU BEATIFUL MEN!!!
Mark is the most talented man to come from this blighted isle. LOVE YOU M8, your music is the soundtrack to my, and my fathers life. Blessings to you and yours always and forever.
Mark's distinct voice ... doubled by composition and orchestration ... the result is a superlative delight in hearing ... a wow ... to which I repeat for several decades ... with the same emotion and feeling ...
Guns? I learned at a young age about them. My Dad was one of Patton Boys. He took both me and my brother to the dump. Set up targets. Talked about this over/under shot gun. How it worked, what it could do, and what you had to do.
That's The Legendary The Unique Artist. It's complete total school Which i Realized the Creator is the Legend Sir Mark Knopfler... Greetings From Yemen .
