I'm baffled,that PRS is still using that cheapo,crappy nuts on the SE models. How much more would it cost,to put a proper Graphtech nut on these guitars,ffs?! I have the Korean, 2013 SE Tremonti Custom,the ltd. edt. with the quilt veneer top and maple cap and tuning stabillity was a real issue.After replacing the entire hardware and putting some S.Duncans with individual coil-split pots,the guitar became a real rock/metal and even blues machine though. The Tremonti models,both the expensive USA and the asian budget version,are pretty much a L/P for modern players,that Gibson refuses to build.Full thickness body no chambering,to get that fat tone,but with a non-locking tremolo and a modern shaped neck.

I thought no one can make full thickness Les Paul except Gibson and Epiphone. even ESP/LTD eclipse still a little bit thinner. I don't know if this applied globally or not but I'm sure Edwards and Grassroots can copy Gibson and Fender stuff freely because they're JDM.

Kiesel actually makes full thickness L/P style guitars,the CS6 and CS624(24 fret version),the body is thinner then a L/P but it's not weight relieved(chambered),unless you order it that way.ESP makes also full thickness Eclipse models,both the Japanese and Korean LTD Deluxe series. It doesn't matter how thick the body is outside,but if it's a big slap of wood,that hasn't been hollowed out from the inside. Not even Gibson makes full thickness L/P's anymore,except if you order a custom shop model. Modern production Gibsons,are all chambered,from outside,they look fat but inside they're full of holes. Some people actually claim,the chambering makes the guitar sound better.

I got a 2018 Indonesian SE Custom 24 a couple weeks ago and replaced the nut immediately with a Graphtech Tusq nut. The stock nut wasn't plastic, but more like the Techtoid nuts that Gibson use (which I also mmediately replace with Graphtec Tusq). My guitar rarely goes out of tune now, so it was a minimal investment.

One of the few modern metal-oriented guitars that has a good clean tone, which makes it usable for other genres. Good value for the money. The all-black theme is not to my taste, but it keeps the cost down and is a good, neutral basis for modding.

I've never played a Korean SE, but my 2018 Indonesian CU24 fretboard was very nicely done. No sharp fretboard edge or fret ends. The crown on the frets were a little too square for my liking. I ended up doing a complete fret level, crown and polish, replaced the nut with a Graphtech Tusq and the neck feels better than my "high end" Gibsons. To be honest, I usually level/dress the frets and replace the nut on every guitar I buy.

I like the Tremonti Standard. Personally it reminds me of the early 2000s. I wish that they would have done a white binding instead of cream. I think that after putting in a GraphTech Black Tusq XL nut this thing would be a great workhorse guitar. I'd be interested to hear the guitar through a brighter amp and see whether or not they compliment one another.

Fredrik Svärd It’s funny you ask that. We were just having a discussion today on the Facebook group for the MT15 about how it almost has too much bass. I have to turn down the bass and turn up the treble.

I have an MT15 plugged into a mesa 4x12 and that shit is LOUD. Master turned to 9 o'clock on the dirty channel and it's loud OUTSIDE my house.

Not really a creed fan. But, I love Marks newer stuff. I have the MT 15 head. It sounds really good, no matter which guitar I plug in. Ordering the guitar today, because it has better sounding pickups than the Se 245 standard. Getting Sweetwater to replace the nut with a graph tech, and do a set up.

As usual a great review. I have the Korean 245 but then I'm 71 and I also have a Plexi. My beef with modern Metal is the endless repetitive 1/4 note thing. It makes all the tunes sound very 'samey'. I have no problem with using a a quarter note groove here and there but a whole gig!!! It's nuts. It also explains why very few women go to modern metal gigs. Some of you guys should break out of it. I think by now it should be yesterdays approach to writing new tunes. If you are a young new band think about it ...are you going to make it big doing this stuff! Hey I can play quarter note triplets at 120bpm. If I play slower it gives me some where to go. You play full out after 3 tunes it is dead boring because you can not make the music any more frantic so you have no where left to take it. Ok enough pontificating. Great vid as always and looking forward to your next review.

Got a question about the trem on the tremonti, I am not very experienced with vintage trems.. In E standard the intonation and action ist perfect out of the box, but the angle of the trem seems a bit high. Should it be leveled like a floid rose?

It's a little bit late to post on this vid but anyway.. Very nice video man ! Really well put together and everything sound soooo good ! I am thinking about buying one but the problem I have is that I am not only playing hard rock and metal but also really etheral songs (more like pink floyd) and blues. Do you think the high bass could still be handled to a point where I can play those kind of styles ?

I have the first run hard tail made in Korea prs tremonti se I got it for $350 used at the pawn shop it only had 1 little ding in it.i love it it's an awesome guitar feels great kinda sucks I can get a new 1 for under $600 mine was $800 when new and it looks the same just no tremlo and no Paul reed smith signature min says tremonti in that spot and prs on truss rod cover

This was one of the best tones you've had on the channel. Personally, I'm not a fan of any of Tremonti's music - I find it dull, vanilla & uninspired. But the Tremonti SE is a beast. I bought a used 2002 version a few months ago & that thing will rip your head off. Thinner than usual singlecut body, comfy neck, wicked pickups, easy to play. The secret is in the Sharpie: you just Sharpie over the name "Tremonti" on the headstock. Voila! Perfect axe! :-)

An observation; I think you make great content, the quality of music, video and production is top class. I just feel like the way you EQ your own voice is annoying to my ears. Theres some bass frequency that makes your voice sound really boomy (especially when I use monitors) when you talk. Just a tip you want to look into cause some days I just cant watch the video til the end since I get headaches from your boomy voice xD Maybe I´m crazy but thats how I feel

It's not a bedroom amp, was thinking the same but ended up getting an Orange with EL84 tubes instead (the PRS uses 6L6). The MT15 is LOUD even at 7 watts

Peavey 6505 MH. Goes down to 5 watts and 1 watt. More gain than you'll ever need too. Needs a noise gate though

Its not what it looks like, it sounds killer! This $400 amp easily rivals $2,000 heads. It’s nice not breaking the bank and having quality equipment. Wish this was around in the 90’s when I started playing guitar.

@@michaelmiller7789 don't feed the trolls, they have no idea how much other tube amps with 5 preamp valves cost or how much high end transformers impact the tone. they have no idea what a killer deal that amp is in regards to the guitar, if real rosewood, good quality mahogany , amazing hardware and picups for the price bracket, and also bird inlays and bindings are all bland, they have no idea what they're talking they are probably play some pink cardboard guitars from a noname chinese brand and feel that anything above that is a waste of money.
