There is a minor hint to the Screwface has a twin plot twist. When they make it to Jamaica, John talks to Screwface's ex-girlfriend in the dance club. She says that Screwface has two heads and four eyes. There's the hint. It's not much, but it something, so they didn't pull it out of their asses..
There's also the scene where Screwface is having a meeting with Tito. Screwface's brother makes an appearance there to mess with Tito and give Screwface that mystic flair that he's almost supernatural.
FUN FACT: The girl that plays his niece is "scream queen" Danielle Harris. She was in Halloween, Daylight, The Last Boy scout and Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter is Dead.
I always thought it was a sign of some kind of neurological condition, or he isn't aware of how normal people run. I'm not trying to make fun of people, but I thought Seagal might be autistic or something. People used autism as an insult or joke for the last 10 or 15 years, but we had someone on our cross country team who did the same thing with his arms when he ran. You're supposed to keep your arms kind of loose, you don't want tension, but not like Seagal. You just don't make fists when you run, not let your arms flop all over the place. It's like Seagal never saw anyone else run before, or he has no awareness of how he looks. It's like people who pick their nose in public, or put their hand down their pants on the bus. It's not even comfortable. Maybe Seagal learned to walk way too early or really late, that can affect how people walk and run. Anyway, people made fun of how Seagal ran as far back as 1990.
There were clues dropped that he was a twin. When he was talking to the Colombian near the pool, his brother repeated the same line from the shadows. And the chick at the club said his power is because he has "two heads and four eyes"
Favorite story about this movie is when "Tom Wright" tricked Steven Seagal into thinking he was actually Jamaican&didn't reveal he's actually from New Jersey till the film wrapped. Priceless 🤣
@@SelectiveSocial401 that's kind of the reason Tom Wright pulled the Jamaican con on Seagal. Seagal was rejecting actors because he felt they weren't authentic enough(like he's an authority on the subject), so Tom Wright played a production long joke on Steven Seagal.
@@SelectiveSocial401😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 We had a white guy who sounded like he was Jamaican (Snow) back in the day and people accepted so I'm not surprised about that one..😂😂😂😂😂 I do like Snow though..
YES!!! I was gonna make this exact same comment 😂 To anyone who hasn't seen it, you HAVE to look up the clip of the Tom Wright interview where he talks about this. It is hiLARIOUS!!! 🤣🤣🤣
When Martin mentions at 27:45 about Jamaican gangs, this is slightly more accurate than you think. Mind you, I grew up in Florida in the 80's & 90's (the most craziest state in the U.S.) But, there was a time where Jamaican gangs were taking over smaller cities and suburbs. (Fla, NY, and parts of the east coast and some west coast areas) I knew guy from my neighborhood who was shot and killed by the "Miami Boys" around the time I joined the service. Also, believe it or not, back in the day, drug dealers usually hung out at schools to hit on girls and sold drugs. (yes during the day...lol) I know these guys have a hard time believing some of the absurd plots from Hollywood, (and true stories) but sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.
There were actually two clues in there movie about Screwface being two different people leading up to the reveal...it didnt come out of nowhere at all.
I don’t know why, but my grandmother used to stay up late at night playing cards by herself and all she’d watch were these C-tier dumbass action movies. She especially enjoyed this one because they shot guns and cursed a lot. Boy was that weird.
Yeah they just run by the mill run by numbers action movies it's not bad it's not good most the time its just there u get some laughs and some decent mildly cool moments once and a while nothing special to get u excited and talking after it and there's alot of c tier action movies and I believe they still make good amount of them today especially with people trying to copy the big successful S tier ones
All jokes aside, this movie was cold AF! Seagal was in his prime, badass action scenes, gritty and brutal, killer soundtrack by Jimmy Cliff, great supporting cast, and a badass villain.
I agree, I saw this in the movies with my EX...The man may be a dick in real life but his early movies were fucking brutal, this is my 3rd favorite Segal movie after the 2 Under Seige movies.
Great movie! Just watched it last week and at least once or twice a year. The best part is that bad azz 1973 mustang Mach 1. I almost cry every time I watch them destroy it.
As a woman from the Caribbean this movie is a classic. I’m here for the laughter. “Everybody want go heaven, Nobody want dead, Afraid. Screwface made this movie a classic!
Thank you I’m from the UK of Jamaican descent. The accents are mostly terrible apart from Screwface! The Lester dead domino scene was hilarious. “who kill him, the white boy Hatcher?” 😂😂😂
@@Baddab35 yes screwface had the best Jamaican accent, the rest was not even trying. Screwface had the best lines! My hubby quote screwface all the time.
@Baddab35 from the uk too (jamaican parents) & even as a kid I laughed at this one white guy going through this crew of jafakecans. Sidenote: did you ever listen to jungle music? If you did, you must remember the tune where they sampled bare tings from marked for death.👍
It's been some years since I heard Steven explain why he runs that way but from what I remember he said it's a martial art style. I've done various styles of martial arts growing up and none of them ever taught me to run while throwing my arms around like that though lol.
Honestly man I didn't even know they teach u how to run in martial arts I never did that in a martial arts class or seen that like at all so I'm confused honestly were he even got that idea from
@@Heresjohnny122psn I think Steven is just full of s**t and was trying to explain it away. Kinda like how anime fans try to explain away why they may be furries.
@@rommix0 that's kind of the problem with anyone who trained or did anything before video pictures or documentation was wildey expected things u will never know if your telling the truth 100% or not cuz the only evidence u can take from is usually very vague old pics or documents that no one can verify being true or not because most of the person who could are passed away at this point so u can basically really only make inferences on the little vague evidence u have on the few story's u heard or snip bits of pictures and small videos and little documentation So it's just something u can't confirm nor something u cant deny its a mystery

The roast finally came out for holidays. And nothing says happy holidays like a classic 90s Seagal movie. Above The Law, Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Out for Justice, and Under Seige are the best Seagal movies.
There is one clue about the twist. An informant says “Screwface has 2 heads and 4 eyes and that’s the secret of his power.” That was the one clue about the twin brother reveal.
Use to always laugh at how the title for this and "Hard to Kill" could easily be switched due to the subject matter. Me and my cousins loved both but always confused the two when trying to reminisce about them.
I always felt the titles could be sequential First he was marked for death But he proved to be hard to kill Now, he's Out for Justice But he must go Above The Law
Surprised no one mentioned Predator 2. Hollywood was Jamaican heavy in the 90's. Btw, Screwface twin was hinted during his conversation with the columbian drug lord with the bad accent and when Steven Seagal spoke to Screwface ex girlfriend
Grew up watching this terrible movie and laughing at it. Martin and Korey say there wasn’t a hint. However, there is a scene where Screwface’s brother walks in the shadows saying “I and eye be waiting.” So when the reveal came that he had a twin brother I remembered that scene. Now knowing he has a flare for the theatrics, I took that as it wasn’t voodoo but a misdirection to make it seem he could teleport. Most people don’t rewatch this movie so it’s a blink and you miss it moment. Still love this movie because it was a guilty pleasure how hilariously bad it is.
55:50 There were a gem clues the led to Screw face being twin brothers. 1: The ghostly appearance of another Screw face when he was meeting with the Spanish crime boss. 2: The reason the sancteria death curse did not work on him. 3: The Jamaican dancer saying Screw face has four arms and two heads, and that is the secret to his power. Although I don't know why she didn't just say he is a twin.
Horror fans know who the niece is in this movie - Danielle Harris in one of her first roles. Also... no clues dropped as to Screwface twist? It was established earlier in the movie that he has two heads and four eyes. There was also an earlier scene where Screwface was talking to his crew and somehow he appeared in another part of the room with no explanation. His people believed in the black magic so they didn't think much of it. If Korey wasn't too busy slagging off the movie and actually pay attention to it, he'd have noticed these things.
This is one of Steven Seagal’s least awful of his bad movies. Fun Fact this is kinda a Halloween 4 reunion, this is directed by Dwight H Little who also did Halloween 4 (and a couple of other movies and episodes of TV shows) and it also has Danielle Harris who played Jamie in Halloween 4
Guys, awesome roast and still love what you all do but there's a few mistakes that I just gotta point out. The twin reveal as a few others have said is no ass pull. 2 scenes in the movie hint the twist at the climax: 1- Early in the movie in Chicago when Tito meets Screwface by a pool. Screwface gives a cryptic warning and the twin speaks and moves behind a pillar throwing Tito off guard like he saw a ghost. 2- When Hatcher, Charles, and Max go to Jamaica and Hatcher meets the girl in the club who does business with Screwface she says to him: "Screwface has 2 heads and 4 eyes and that is the secret to his magic." 3. The older lady we see at the little get together I'm pretty sure IS Hatcher and Melissa's mom. The scene doesn't say it, but later in the movie when Hatcher calls his sister before she's attacked she says in the scene "Mom's there (at the hospital) with Tracey (the girl shot during the drive-by)." Not trying to burst anyone's bubble so don't @ me, movie's still messy and roast worthy (though I still enjoy it), but some of these details aren't too, too hard to miss.
I remember seeing this back when I was a kid. My step dad was a fan Seagal and when his new movie got on VHS we would rent it for a family movie night.
I think a hint was dropped in the movie that Screwface had a twin, but went over all of the viewers head, even Steven Seagal. When John Hatcher meets the girl at the club in Jamaica, who was previously known to be Screwface girlfriend. She says "Screwface thinks with 2 Head and 4 eyes, and that's the trick to his magic". She might have been the only one who knew he had a twin brother. She probably even slept with both of them. Even his henchmen did not know this little secret of Screwface, which they thought was magic.
Now this was peak seagal marked for death is awesome but out for justice is my favorite Steven Seagal film it's absolutely insanely violent and hilarious
I'm still wondering what was the appeal of Seagal to begin with? Van Damme had looks and agility, Arnold had Charisma, Stallone had range, Norris had skills and Chan had a personality. Steven Seagal is a balding man with a dad bod that stands in one place during fight scenes.
@KillRhythmYeah Out For Justice was his last box office hit and after that everything he had was terrible except Glimmer Man and Exit Wounds but they still weren't huge like his early movies
Seagal was a massive star back then. His fight scenes were WAY more brutal than any of the other stars, he became an overnight success because of that. He was a high level master in Japan before he ever got into movies, that was part of his "intrigue", when he first burst onto the scene.
@@keldorthebluemack No, Seagal and Van Damme were the guys who kept their mainstream career running well into the 90s while Arnold and Stallone were floundering (still popular internationally though) and Norris went to TV. Under Siege was a big hit, and then his other 90s films weren't as well received but he was still making theatrical releases instead of direct to video, and he was still big enough to be the bait and switch protagonist of Executive Decision, but around that time he really gets a massive ego and the wheels fall off.
Korey is wrong in his assertion that there were no clues dropped prior to the reveal of Screwface having a twin. Earlier in the film, they catch up with a former lover of his (Screwface’s), and in questioning her, she states: “…Screwface have two head and four eyes, and that is the secret to his magic!…” She straight up TELLS THE AUDIENCE right there! If Korey stopped lookin’ for jokes long enough to pay attention he’d have gotten it too, lmao! 😜
This is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. I put it ahead Above the Law. They foreshadowed the twist a couple times, the Jamaican girl at the club for instance" him have two heads, and four eyes" hence a twin.
@@lenindominguez1986 my friend i was never a fan of the live action street fighter 🎬 , but watch 🙌 " Lion Heart ", " Cyborg ", " Blood Sport ", and of course " Double impact " ! 🙌, " Lion Heart ", was the live action 🎬 movie " Street Fighter ", should have been
To my understanding, the art form that he studies,Which is aikido, is not the brute force that is displayed in his movies. The fighting may be fake, but the injuries that these co-actors do get are indeed real. That's why I will never look at another Steven Seagal movie ever again.
There are actually at least two instances in the movie (neither scene shown here)were the fact that there were twins. The movie is still silly but the twin thing doesn't completely come out of nowhere.
This just goes to show you that Korey really never truly pays attention to the films that he watches, because they hinted at Screwface being a twin at least twice earlier on in the film before the reveal. The first one was when Screwface had the meeting with the Colombian drug lord, and when Hatcher had the conversation with the dancer at the club.
Somebody probably said this already, but you guys didn't cover the funniest scene! When they're fighting the Jamaicans in the department store, Steven kicks everyone's ass, and Keith David is nowhere to be found. Only after everyone's all beat up, Keith comes running in and smacks some dude who's already doubled over with the butt of his rifle like he's doin' something to help.
You can tell that none of them have advanced martial arts training or skills. He runs like someone who has been in martial arts for a long time. It changes how you run
In the movie, the light skinned chick who was Screw-Face's ex-girl said that he had 2 heads and 4 eyes and that was the secret to his magic!!!!! You missed that one Double-Toasted!! 🤣🤣🤣 there was the one part where he was in 2 different places in the same scene. Too me, this was one of the pluses for the movie!
There was one scene earlier in the film with a dancer (who used to party with Screwface) who says "...the secret of Scewface's magic is that he has two heads and four eyes..."
Seagal has become a global treasure, good man. Gotta appreciate all the entertainment throughout the years. Thought this movie was fascinating and entertaining.
Huh, I wouldn't call him a global treasure but more of a Global Trainwreck seeing how much he faked his way to stardom and has made a utter circus of himself especially with becoming a fanboy of Putin.
Marked for Death was my favorite Steven Segal movie...when I was 8 years old🤣. My older sister rented it from Erol's and my 8 year old self thought it was gritty and hard hitting🥴!
After streaming space ice and other channels that likes to roast seagal, You can't know how much i've been hoping for this channel to make a bad review on either marked for death or on deadly ground. And immediately this dropped i jumped up with joy and amazement. Double toasted has been my life saver since i discovered them this year. Thanks for this review.
I have a Jamaican mom and watched this when it came out at age 10 and it scared the shit out me cause i can relate to how aggressive and over the top Jamaicans can be when trying to make a simple point lol. Check out the Spears & Steinberg podcast, its raw and uncut cocaine jokes!
Same house used in Marked for Death where the kid gets shot is the same house used by the next door neighbors to the Griswold's in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, which is the same house in Lethal Weapon. Its on a Hollywood set
