Another thing that might help with autistic overstimulation if it’s smell or taste is something like Lorals latex underwear. They block scent and taste but the wearer can still feel everything. And it might not even be that yall need them every time, maybe just in the beginning or whenever the giver is feeling more keyed up. I’m also autistic and this is something I plan to have in my toolbox to try to hack my sensory barriers 😊 but the advice of checking the other stimuli and trying it in the shower are also great advice!

I already know how to stop overthinking. To do just that is by not overthinking anything , but you just don’t do it at all but you just start all over on a newer slate. But it’s like starting all over again , but its like that you just don’t know anything but you just live in the moment and relearn everything all over again but you just don’t ever overthink anything.
