the lightly roasted bunny is cracking me up! poor guy never stood a chance. and the clear resin just magnifies his eternal suffering 😂 great turning regardless 👍

Marshmallow has a lot of air, so not surprised it deformed. Actually turned out better then I expected. I enjoy you videos.

Thanks Jerald! Yeah, I'm thinking the pressure pot might have been the biggest culprit on this project. Going to have to try with a slow setting resin with no pressure next time😀

Air bubbles in pressure pot is what I was thinking as well. Great experiment though!

Hi Zac! I am new to your channel and was amazed that the peep didn't just turn into a blob. Love the faux burl. Looked like great fun! Great try. Yes, I subscribed and hit the bell. Thank you for sharing your work. I do have a question, I watched someone turn a honeycomb blank and they said that you made it. Do you have a video of making one and do you make them bigger? It was just beautiful and looked just like honey.

That was quite instructive. Biggest problem I’d have would not be eating all the Peeps before casting one. 😬. Mr Peep looked rather angry at the end there. I wonder if encapsulating it in a thin layer of epoxy resin first would work. I’ve found that works well with Oreo cookies

LOL I think Mr. Peep was very mad at me 🤣 I actually realized after I posted this video that the one thing I didn't think about was the pressure pot. I think I need to revisit this using a slow setting low exotherm resin without using pressure, might just do the trick if it doesn't melt 🤔

Thanks! It helps the resin flow into the little cracks and crevices better. If it were cold, the resin can tend to pull away. I recommend it for square molds, silicone molds, and/or molds with fine detail in them.

I did try a stale peep too at the end of the video. I don't think moisture is the issue, just melted due to temp and possibly other factors

Maybe let it get stall in like a week or two. Mozzarella stick are frozen before they are deep fried. Also museums will paint a layer of resin on the skeletons let that harding a day or so and the fully cast it.

Those are all good ideas. I did let the second test sit for about a week, maybe week and a half. Frozen peep might be worth trying out though too!

That might work to keep it from melting all over, but I realized that I think the issue with the deforming might be caused by the pressure pot. Didn't even occur to me that the marshmallow is probably full of air bubbles until after I was done with the video
