We're going through difficult times with the spread if COVID-19. This an unprecedented global health crisis. I hope this recital makes things more tolerable for those who are quarantined just like me.
This was the first part of a concert Argerich gave in the USA on March 25, 2000 (nevermind the date in the picture, it is wrong).
She had been treated for melanoma at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, Calif. The treatment was successful and out of gratitude, she gave this concert to benefit the institute.
The whole thing included a second part in which Argerich was joined by her friend Nelson Freire and the Juilliard String Quartet. Unfortunately I don't have this second part, that's why I didn't upload it.
