I loved Blood and Bone and in my opinion Michael Jai White gave one of his best performances on screen.

The white guy was declared the winner because Michael double-tapped (after obviously winning the fight). It's important for the storyline.

It's unbelievable, that the man with so much muscles can move so smoothly!

I don't know what style Michael Jai White uses, but something I have always appreciated in any of his fight scenes is that he always maintains a strong base. Before he launches any attack, he has a solid base. Just watch how he stands as he's waiting for an enemy attack. He cannot be moved.

The guy that tossed the sword to Michael Jai White , that’s actually Bob Wall, he played O’Hara in Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and he was also in Return of the Dragon.

This movie was very underrated. I watched this so many times. Its one of my favorite Micheal Jai White movies. Its impressive how fast he moves with his size. Dope commentary.👊🏽

I've done martial arts for 10 years, and let me tell you, there is no bigger blow to your pride than to be dropped on your back like in 9:09. That's happened to me many times whenever I sparred my sensei, and I could never figure out how to counter it.

The end fight has to do with the story. The guy that warned him was his cell mate. He was killed and MJW promised to look after his wife and son. His wife forced to be James’s (the villain who had his hand cut off) woman to save her son who was in foster care and was hooked on drugs. James also was responsible for framing MJW’s friend and got him put in jail. Overall a really good movie, well worth time to watch.

That bathroom scene where he sweeps the guy then hammer fits his chest on the way down, MJW said it was paying homage to Billy Blanks who did the same thing to him years ago when the were sparing.

They didn't show it in this as it's not the fight themselves per se, but one thing I love about this is that it puts you in his mind, as a fighter in a few earlier fights. He will watch a fighter he's going up against in the next match and it'll show how he notices their weaknesses and then use it against them. For example he noticed one guy ALWAYS throws the right leg to the body if the guy leaves his ribs open.. so he intentionally leaves his side unguarded to provoke him into the leg.. then knowing it's coming he grabs it and ends the fight with a devastating move. Same thing with another guy noticing he drops his guard afer his cross.. so he provokes it then knows he'll be wide open and lays him out.. great story telling.

Michael doing all of those moves in timbs is insane and impressive

Excellent flick.Jai White at his best and a cast of Real Martial artist and/or fighters in this film. Nearly everyone fighting was a real martial artist. Underrated classic.

For those wondering, when Bone puts Price (Matt Mullins) in the knee bar in the final fight, Bone taps out instead...thus losing the fight for those he was forced to fight for.

last double fight was really greatly choreographed and executed. smart moves, faints, options, that was so cool.

fun fact: the asian guy in MJW's corner for the bare knuckle fighting scenes is Rufio from Hook.

This is one of my favorite movies. Not just for the action, but the storyline is good!

Yeah, you _REALLY_ need to watch this movie. There is a ton of serious fighting in it, and the storyline is every bit as good as the wrap-up, of which we only saw a tiny tiny bit.

I highly recommend the TV series "Warrior". It's based on Bruce Lee's writing, and featuring Andrew Koji and Joe Taslim, the fight sequence is just mind-blowing.

Honestly, i don't really actively follow any "reaction" channels, but your videos are awesome. Love the fact that you don't stop every 30 seconds to give a 5 minute explanation about the origin of the technique, just genuine tiny explanations to understand what the technique was and if it was well performed. The guy who plays O'Hara, the one who threw Bone the sword in the final fight scene, is the same guy, Bob Wall, who played O'Hara in "Enter the Dragon". I little nod to Bruce Lee. A lot of people miss that little Easter egg

I remember Bob Sapp when he played for the Chicago Bears. He was just as big then. Moving slow and getting his ass kicked is how I recall him from most of his MMA fights too. The seated white guy is Julian Sands.

I love when MJW feints a hook kick while he is fighting Bob Sapp. My brother and I have tried that for shits and giggles and the speed and dexterity you need to even perform that kick midair is absurd.

12:03 That's Julian Sands, He was a staple of a lot of mid-budget movies in the 80's & 90's such as, "Warlock" and "The Tomorrow Man". I swear he's a vampire. He's remarkably well preserved in this film. Bear in mind this movie was made in 2009 and Sands was born in 1958. As for MJW, the guy is obviously juiced to the gills for a lot of his movies, but it still impresses me how agile he is for a man carrying serious muscular weight. He looks about 230+ lbs here and is obviously cut, but he throws kicks around like he's 5 stone lighter.

He was declared winner because Bone looked at James and decided he didn't want to win to give James the satisfaction. He clearly would've won vs Price. He tapped the mat when he had his opponent in the lock.

What you missed was MJW's character tapped out to forfeit the match. He ended up costing the next opponent a $5 million bet.

6:06-6:07 I'm glad you mentioned Bob Sapp,he was in Elektra as one of Hands,and a body guard in the movie Faster with Dwayne Johnson(that is massive as hell) but as Samoan he's big,fast and strong and that's scary.

In his defense with that armbar, I think he is counting on the impact from that BOOT"strike" to sit his ass still for a second,also,this is a street fight ,a TRADITIONAL arm bar could get your leg BITTEN.

"cutting the legs is ust as effective as cutting anywhere else" hence the primary function of shields, to protect the thighs from attack. leg armor improved many years after everything else so youre spot on

It's cool that the last fight scene was a nod to Enter the Dragon a couple ways. The whole fight scene was similar to Lee's fight with Ohara the scar faced guy that killed Lee's sister. The guy who threw the sword to Michael the old guy called him Ohara and he was the actor who played Ohara in Enter the Dragon.

The fact that Mike did the fights in Timbs is always something to me lol. Them damn boots got heft to 'em.

For me, Blood and Bone was Michael Jai White's 'Enter The Dragon' (yep, love Bruce Lee too). This movie was peak Michael Jai White and his abilities. For such a heavily built guy, his movements are just so beautiful to watch. With some of Bruce Lee's favourite moves popping up here and there and the "O'Hara!" near the end very much a throwback to Enter The Dragon.

"Groin kick the single best defensive move" Every MMA fighter I've heard talk about it says that kicking someone in the nuts is probably the dumbest thing to do in self defence. 90% of the time it doesn't work and all you're doing is making someone that wanted to just knock you out now wanting to break your neck because you kicked them in the balls.

The rich white guy who looked familiar was Julian Sands RIP who recently was found dead in a hiking accident. He'd been in a lot of movies and TV shows, 'Warlock' was one of my faves.

So the fight with the white guy in the suit. He was a big shot in the movie, like kinda a final boss type deal for the super rich club that was running all the fights. Michael Jai Whites character was being used to beat him so his handler could join that group seconds after getting that leg bar in MJW taps out. He showed that hes way better but he intentionally lost so that the handler (the black guy that attacks him with a sword) wont get what he wants.

Cool fact: The guy who throw the sword to Michael at 10:43 is Bob Wall, old school veteran karateka that always played the villain in Bruce Lee movies. PS: His name in this movie is Hoara, same as in Enter the dragon :)

the reason for having the leg not over the head is because you want them to sit up just like he did first time so you can advance into that other lock witch gives you alot more options some smaller ones and some very painful ones to haha
