I am unfortunately not that familiar yet with Marty's backing guitarist, but that will change after having watched this video. The dude knows how to play, and his phrasing is beautiful. Heck, it does kinda sound like he is learning some stuff from Marty, since you can definitely hear lots of Marty's style in his solos. Heck, even the vibrato and the hair, lol. It seems like we have a "Teacher - Student" situation going on.
I forgot his name, but you can find it on Jackson's youtube page. He's credited with writing the demo's for their import models. Watch those videos and you should see his name at the end of them if I remember correctly.
@@brandonchurch2094 yep. Mustaine got every drug in existence, broke his nervous system, got cancer... but Friedman really didn't age at all. Minor wrinkles on his face and that's it. Must be that japanese diet or something.
How does Marty still look the same after 40 fucking years? His hair is so awesome. Only the Devil could grant such longevity and talent! Marty is an absolute legend.
I grew up with Marty in Laurel md.....watched him play literally in a wooden barn with the group deuce..........it was an incredible experience watching him play at 14 years old to 18
2:37 are you kidding me? Whoever you are either you are a huge Jordan Ziff fan or you do not know the beginning of Tornado of Souls. Shame we have to watch Jordan playing the rhythm while Marty makes one of the best beginnings of any solo just off camera to the left. Thank you for the excellent video and the good quality.
*puccini4* What solo? WTF? Where? You mean "guitar lead?" - A Guitar - SOLO - is when the band leaves the stage and the guitarist is alone (hence; 'solo'........as Van Halen would do with Eddie Van Halen). You must be 13 years old. Go home to Mom.
Good to see Marty with Kelly again, it's like in the good old days! Amazing playing too, he just keeps getting better! The drummer in the other hand....I don't like the trend to use chinas and crashes as a rhythm cymbal.

He left because Dave and the record company re-recorded his solo in the song Breadline off of Risk. They thought the solo sounded "to happy", they also did this without telling Marty whose main job was solo writing on that Record. Then when he heard the final mix of the album he said, eff that. I'm out. The dudes got way too much writing talent to be stuck strictly as lead guitarist any way. Makes sense why he left
Zachery Noland Dave told David to tell Marty that the label doesn't like Marty's solo, so Dave should Fill it. At the moment when they're listen to the song, Dave thought that David has already told Marty about this. David hasn't told Marty.
Marty left because he got tired of his job and wanted to do something else. He was merely an employee who got a salary and he wanted to do his own thing in Japan. Don’t all the lead guitarists eventually leave the band?
Norbit CleaverHook I sent sent him an email once and told him to cut the shit and get playing with mustaine again and he told me him and nick Menza tried to join megadeth again and Dave refused
Nickhead87 Not true. Dave tried to get them to do the RiP tour and they wouldn't. Also tried to get them to join after Broderick and Drover left. Didn't go through.
Search for : "Marty Friedman-Wikipedia : Fact or Fiction?" He was not "tired of that kind of music", he wanted to do very heavy songs AND ballads. What Metallica did with "Nothing else matters" basically.
