That Nightcrawler fight scene was everything. The string section kicked off like we were in Castlevania. 🎉 I really, really hope that Chuck X’s return to earth means that Onslaught is coming.

After watching this episode, Bastion quickly became one of my favourite X-Men villains. Bastion is such a great villain in this show, and his plan is genius yet horrific to think about. His being a mix of Nimrod & Master Mold is wild. I love how charismatic he is with his belief that mutants supposedly take away humans' chances of the future, like a twisted, charismatic entrepreneur/salesman pitching his belief onto your average human middle-class guy, spreading more fear and insecurities about mutants to inevitably get them to act on said fears. What's even worse is that there is a level of truth and meta-commentary from his philosophy and how he manipulates blue-collar class racism and the bigotry normal humans create based on their fears. Not to mention the fact that such a big part of the population are secretly Human Sentinel sleeper agents and didn't even know it is SCARY ASF! These things can also reproduce and extend the human population, making the implications even more terrifying. It's funny how Gyrich teased this fate in the first episode, saying, *"Tolerance is extinction."* This basically means that whenever humanity starts tolerating mutants, humans will inevitably believe they'll go extinct; therefore, they believe that whenever mutants start tolerating humans, mutants need to go extinct, hence what happened in Genosha. That Wolverine and Nightcrawler fight scene is some of the best Western animations I have ever seen in a comic book animated show like GODDAMN THAT SCENE WAS CLEAN ASF! I loved seeing the first-person perspective of what it's like to teleport with Nightcrawler. I love how much of an overprotective mom Jean was to Cable, and seeing the Summers family fighting together was cool and cute to watch. Dom Torretto would be proud. It was really surreal watching Dr Cooper become so numb to the death and misery humanity creates to make mutants suffer, ultimately coming to accept that Magneto was right about humans. Magneto also officially declared war on humanity after all the pain and death he witnessed and sending that EMP blast around the world, which no doubt caused hundreds of other deaths, like planes falling out of the sky, reactors losing power, and God knows what else was such a scary yet overpowered move! BTW, THE CAMEOS IN THIS EPISODE ARE INSANE; WE GOT SPIDERMAN, OMEGA RED, DOCTOR DOOM, BARON ZEMO, SILVER SAMURAI, etc...

"Magneto Was Right!" Such a great use of the mutant metaphor when characters are going about their business and they don't know who around you is going to unmask as Sentinel and turn on them. Loved Wolverine and Nightcrawler's nine-blade brawl and the Summers family car chase! Can't pick a favourite action sequence this episode.

With regard to Sinister's "Cape"... Originally, he was supposed to be a 10-11 year old trapped in the body of a 100-130 year old "child." Essentially a child who matured 1 year for every 10 years aged. When he hit puberty and his powers started to manifest, he became pissed at the world that he was essentially a child stuck in the body of someone who should be growing up and he was angered that everyone around him were maturing, so he created the Mr. Sinister persona based on his own drawing of what a child might envision an all-powerful person lashing out at the world might look like. He also created Gambit as a duplicate of himself in the image of what he wanted others to see him as... a cooler, more respected adult... but over time Gambit became sentient and broke away from it. Unfortunately, all of that was scrapped after Chris Claremont was fired in 1991. Instead, we got Mr. Sinister being a 100+ year old Victorian chemist that experiments with gene splicing some five years later in 'The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix' miniseries.

"Hard to work with" can be interpreted in different ways - sure, a determined creative type might have an odd way of working that people have difficulty adjusting to. But it's also full on corporate speak for "This person was abusive to fellow employees and we would like to avoid the PR nightmare of explaining it in so many terms". Rumours point toward the latter, particularly with track record.

We do know that whatever DeMayo did that it was not criminal. No one from Disney officially ever said that he was hard to work with. That was a independent blogger that was allegedly quoting from an unnamed anonymous source that DeMayo was hard to work with. If a Disney or any employer for that matter the record leaked a former employee personnel record to the press and stated that any former employee was hard to work with, that would be grounds for a lawsuit because Disney has defamed his character and hindered his ability to find new employment. IMO what probably happened is that Disney got cold feet before the release of the series because of the heavy political messages that was imbedded in show and caved into the strong anti woke campaign that was mounted against this show right before the show's actual release and removed him from the project. After its expensive battle with the State of Florida, Disney had grown weary of getting into any more political controversies and just removed DeMayo, an unknown gay black showrunner from the project without realizing that they actually had an actual bona fide hit and a highly critically acclaimed show on their hands. Remember that the X-Men are Disney characters. So Disney is now stuck with egg on its face as they fired someone that they probably should have promoted. Both Disney and DeMayo has been unusually quiet about the circumstances of his termination probably under the advisement of each one's attorneys which that usually happens when there is about to be litigation. And know this, even though the complete second season script has been already completed, the next showrunner is under no obligation to continue or resolve any current plots, resolve any cliffhangers left over from this season or to use any portion of DeMayo's season 2 script. Most likely they will not utilize any of his scripts because they would to have to acknowledge him in the Season 2 credits, pay him a fee, and would have to acknowledge him during award season, which is already going to be unusually awkward because this season shows are most likely going to win an Emmy award next season. Winning an award would mean that DeMayo would have to give an acceptance speech from a project that he was fired from and since he is a former employee that has been blackballed, there is no controlling what he might say. As far as the show is concerned, future scripts will probably be less edgier and will be more closely monitored and watered down. Future shows will most likely focused on being more kid friendly and selling merchandise. -

This Nimrod did the nasty....hahah Cable converted Cyclops' Porsche into a convertible right before it gets destroyed.....it says "SL1M" on Cyclops' Porsche...originally he was called "Slim Summers" until issue #3 where they changed it to "Scott" and "Slim" was just a nickname....Another mind-blowing n exciting episode! damn you can feel the punch when Beast got clocked by Trish...If Val didn't release Magneto and cause Bastion return back to base, Bastion would've got to meet Xavier the moment he lands.

On their honeymoon Scott and Jean’s minds sent into the future (by Rachel Summers) where they became young Nathan’s parents for his first ten years. He didn’t know them as Scott and Jean they called themselves Slim and Red. When he came to the present as Cable and saw their powers he recognized them right away. However, since they didn’t recognize him he kept it to himself.

Maybe they didnt recognize them? I mean i think doom says jis name like he always does and this design for doctor doom might not be somwthing they recognize , especially with the purple on the screen , but baron zemo is always purple but they are absolutely more familiar with the big fur coat and purple balaclava from the winterfalcon show

@Syntell Charles was seriously hurt thanks to Gyrich. The only way he could get healed was for his GF Lilandra to take him back to her galaxy since her people had the technology. He bid them all farewell, including Magneto. Only the rest of the world thought Charles was dead.

Morph can apparently mimic physical abilities only, so he probably picked Juggernaut for the muscle and maybe size. But the prime sentinels still body flipped him like it was nothing.

@@LaCheeserie I watched Batman everyday after school when I was a kid. Loved the Fox Kids lineup. It was a great show, but not every episode had you on the edge of your seat or had the kind of dialogue that X-Men has. Yes, there are certain episodes from Batman that I would put up there with X-Men 97, but as a season, I think X-Men 97 tops Batman.

Its hard to compare a 10 episode season to other project who were slated for 18-24 episodes. Obviously the 10 episode project has to jam things together with less screen time. As an audience member i can't discredit 18-24 episode seasonal projects because they were tasked with fleshing seasons out. But yes X Men 97 is amazing so far. Its hard for me to put anything above Batman TAS. But we will see once X Men 97 season 2 is watched by us. And I'll revist this

I think the Mojo episodes was a filler. It didnt really move the story. I think what it did could have been done in the confinement of the other shows. It started Sunspot down the road of accepting himself and relationship with Jubilee.

Team, their not just Professor X's X-Men anymore. Magneto just saved everyone. But mankind wasn't tracking the threat. all they know is that Magneto shut down all the electronics in the world. Wolverine knew exactly what was going on and is going to side with Professor X. But cyclops wilk side with Magneto. And you know Rogue is going to side with magneto. All the others, I have no idea but I'm telling you right now there's going to be some infighting and a civil war within the X-Men is about to start. Bastion is not the villain. It's the drama that's about the split this team in two. In the words of nightcrawler, so that's who we are now? Bastion is not that big of a villain but the X-Men themselves is on a whole new level as their greatest villain

(Im gonna come off really harsh like everyone who was rude last ep cause u dont literally remember every small detail but i love u guys and the comic wolverine and i dont mean it that way )if u just want more cool moments thats fine but wolverine is getting the golden treatment and this version is way better than the og show ,so every single episode are we are going to complain that wolverine is getting screwed over when he has had nothing bad happen to him ,he spent the whole original series being a massive stalking creep and suddenly he has the emotional maturity to tell her to go back to scott and not take advantage of her feelings like he absolutely would have if it was the old show . Wolverine hasnt cheated on anyone or actually killed anyone he shoulsnt have and the only negative thing he does of note is wanna kill every body and everyone at home is cheering him on , so sorry the entire show isnt a power fantasy of a short murderer who stalks women like the moviesand people act like its okay cause hes sad and edgy . I am absolutely personally bothered by this stuff and coming off like an ahole cause in the ultimate universe where miles is from hes a literal groomer and every word for creepy non consensual stuff , and the movies i like that logan but its still creepy when 50 year old hugh jackman was carrassing sophie turners face in smen apockalypse

@@Syntell that's totally fine ans my own perceptions and memory on wolverine are definitely clouded but I just think I see him as Rocky always getting back up , ,it's just wolverine is amazing in this series , and while he doesnt have the focus , he hasnt done anything to get mad at either .when people get mad about wolverine getting tossed around when that's his job , he's a brawler with knives for hands who can't die , he doesnt need to solve every problem with plot armor he's getting plenty of cool moments him being knocked into the sky and then figuring out how to combo them on the way down like Scott in episode 1 , sorry for typing so much lol, thank u for listening , I'd probably be saying the exact same stuff about cyclops as u ,if he didn't get a pop off moment immediately in episode 1 lol
