@@corvettedude4423 Maserati end up the production in 2019, but its coming back, but with a V6, the same of the MC20. Wont sound as good, but that thing is going to be fast, really fast.
Saw your Maser vids from way back! Thanks for doing the three-year update. Just watched Doug DeMuro vid on Gran Turismo and he loves it. A couple reviewers said it had the best steering of any car. I’m super happy it’s been reliable. That’s been the big question for me.
That is an incredible deal for $24k. A few days ago, I had seen a 2009 blue Granturismo for $24k. Maybe it's that one. I can't see how they could get any cheaper. They are the last of its kind, end of the Ferrari era.
I’m thinking of getting one soon. Same year and model. How long have you had it for bud? Did you buy with full service history? Any issues with battery etc going flat?
Great review, really on point. I own a 208 GT MC and I love it. I owned a Ghibli SQ4 before and I now appreciate the handcrafting quality and the legendary V8 and its glorious sound. Big difference. I agree with the full carbon fiber package, it really adds to it appearance
Love your car and completely agree, I have the 6 speed Quattroporte which I love , When people realise what I am driving they really acknowledge it.. Classic cars..
Recently got a 2016 GT sport convertible w/30K miles for $58K. Nero, Cuoio. Absolutely love it. Has always been my dream car. Glad to hear maintenance has been according to what I have read and it has been reliable for you. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations on your car. Grad you liked the content. Here's the 4 year ownership review, I just did ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G142OswCctI.html
@@qkxao9282 -- Definitely cheaper to own than my Quattroporte was! I'm at 80K miles now, got it with ~30K, and I drive it pretty hard - just got back from a 1,600 mile trip. No major mechanical problems - so far, the only bits that have gone bad are the parking sensors up front. Just make sure you do as much stuff yourself as you can - brakes at a dealer are ~$4K - get the parts from Scuderia and it'll be less than $1K. Oil change at the dealer is ~$400 - get the parts, do it yourself, etc. The major cost I have to deal with is gas - I drive it in sport mode and in manual, and I get ~15.9 miles per gallon. I know they have a reputation - maybe I just got lucky, but my GTS has been one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned, and it's my daily driver. It's been a great purchase, and when it's time to retire it, I'll be looking for another one. Nothing sounds as good, IMHO, and it's still a head-turner. It's a joy to drive, and while it's not quite the fastest thing on the road, it ain't slow, and it's very comfortable on long trips.
Thanks for the detailed reply. I purchasing it today, it’s coming from the west coast, at a Porsche dealership. Delivery is estimating 10 days. Very excited. When you have a chance, please send links to your favorite accessories sites. Thinking about updating bulbs. Door knobs. Interior lighting, mats…etc. thanks again for all you assistance.
Congratulations. So the only thing I have thought about doing to my car was installing the Larinisystems X pipe, there are some videos out there and it sounds good.
Great video!..I have had my 2012 s since 2015...bought it with 4k miles and has 24k now....love every.single.second. of it ...same exact color combo as yours.🥃🥃
Purchasing a 2014 GT with 40k miles, no warranty but well maintained. I will use as a daily driver putting 10k on a year, keeping it for 2 years. 1- what do you think my yearly maintenance costs would be? 2- estimate problems with a GT with 40-60k miles? 3 - I only keep cars 2 years, just trying to understand potential issues problems if it is my daily driver? I have the money to buy new but with the depreciation and the fact the car has not changed much at all, 40k now is a steal. Any thoughts, estimated costs or issues with this car spec would be appreciated greatly.
Beautiful car. One of my favorite car design. It will age very well later in time. Designed by pininfarina they know how to design cars. At first I thought it was MC but the tail pipes told me it’s not. Just beautiful, I was real close of getting one in the past. I still love the design.
$600 for an oil change seems reasonable. In Los Angeles, I was quoted $1,600 - $1,800 for an oil change + air filter change. I paid $900 for an independent mechanic to do the work. I suppose I could have just done it myself, but I was told a service stamp in the owners manual is important for these kinds of cars when it comes to resale.
Realistically, these things depreciate so hard that the service stamp for the cost you paid isn’t going to recoup you value in resale vs the money saved doing it yourself if you have the time and desire to do so.
Stop giving stealerships your money for regular maintenance. Labor charge is what kills you. Original parts are not that expensive compared to Porsche, BMW heck even Mercedes

Yeah, I’ve talked about it on my last review, that many people don’t buy these cars because their dealership is too far away, or there is only one to choose from. Maybe with the mass production of the suv Grecale there will be more dealers opening up.
Been looking at one it has 60k most of them have to many previous owners. It was between this and the bmw m5 however with That intro, made me say yea I want the Maserati!!!!
Thanks for watching. So, my very first car I ever had was a 93 Corvette, and at the time I made this channel, I didn't own the Maserati. I will also be adding a C8 Z06, I should be able to get the first year run of 2023. So Corvette dude seems fitting. The Maserati is a very special car that I will be keeping, its been a great car,. Next few days i'll post the 4th year review.
Everytime I’m in mine... The few ppl in C8s still stop and talk to me because my car is extremely rare here in Monroe, LA. TIMELESS DESIGN. Both my Quattroporte S and my GranTurismo GT Convertible Sport have Nero Carbonio paint jobs.
Nice. Yeah, the Grantusimo is rarer. last time I checked the Maserati Granturismo market for all model years was like 1/3 of of the C8 Corvettes for sale.
Thank you for the video. I have 2018 Gran Sport on hold, only 10k miles with warranty for a few months remaining. The car has been serviced 4x in under 10k miles. I normally keep cars for a few years but for 100k without warranty I concerned. What are your thoughts? I cannot find a new one so this one with only $10k miles is like new inside and out. Any concerns with not having warranty?
Originally when i bought my car i was going to get the 2 years warranty extension, but since i never had any problems the 1 1/2 years i had it during the warranty period i decided not to get it. I thaught that if the car had been problem free for 4 years it would't have major problems. back then the 2 years warranty cost was like $4800 so even if I had a problem might not have been over that amount.
Hello. The 2018 was sold but I have now a 2014 Sport on hold with 40k miles. No warranty. Questions: 1 - I will drive this car as a daily driver but no more than 10k per year. Car has been maintained with last Maserati service at 32k. The Benz dealer I am buying from did a service and inspection, the car currently has no leaks or issues. Question is, what would you estimate (guess) maintenance costs would in 12 months? 2 - Would I have an issue using this as a daily driver putting 10k a month on it? I will only keep it 2 years. 3 - What do you think could be major issues in 2 years or 20k miles? 4 - Should I be concerned with the miles at 40k, and keeping it until it is 60k? The price is great, it has already depreciated so I would simple trade it in 2 years or 60k miles. I have the money to afford close to new, just trying to understand what to expect if I use it as a daily driver for 40-60k miles? Any thoughts - and guesses on the above questions is appreciated. I am in South Carolina so similar weather and roads to you.
@@burgessgrb3 sorry for late reply. As far as service estimates, I recommend calling the Maserati service department. I perform my own maintenance, so I don’t know current prices with all this inflation. I was actually at Maserati yesterday to pick up the oil filter. I was told that the Granturismo is a reliable car and that they hardly ever replace engines. I have seen several for sale with almost 100k miles. Maybe one day I may consider trading mine. I like the 2018-2019 redesign especially the last year, 2019 convertibles , and if the price was right 40k miles would not scare me as long as the car had its proper service history and did not show indication of being a problematic car in its repair history.
12 years and still the same style. I have an 08 Maserati GT black w 8K miles now it has 12 or 13k (barely use it) and bought it in 2013 pre-owned for 68k and still today its beautiful 7 years later. I am glad I bought it. Unlike in 17 I bought a Ferrari California with 7K miles and they changed it the next year w the Cali T and last year 19 it was discontinued for the Portofino. SO that was a bad buy especially since it cost me 135k and now only 3 years later looks dated and out. Well a good buy and a bad buy.
We need to hold on to our Granturismos, they are the end of an era. Saw an article today that Maserati is switching to V6 and 4cyl. Before the Granturismo, I had actually considered a Ferrari California. How does reliability and maintenance cost compare to the Granturismo?

thats strange on the tyres i have the 2008, and tyres last easly 20 000miles +. espeically the front dont wear out at all, the back grind down faster as i floor it decently
Mine being a 2014 has not had any problems at all. The only Porsche I’ve driven was a boxster, I liked the handling, but I can’t say about much about the 911. My favorite parts about the Granturismo is that it’s a great looking car and awesome sound from the naturally aspirated Ferrari V8. All Maseratis now have turbo and the sound is not the same. Maybe this may even help it gain value in the future.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VEiXRn7YzuY.html Here is a sound difference between the two. The Maserati sounds better, but also its not a fair comparison as it does not have the performance exhaust. My friends C7 has the performance exhaust and sounds better than my C7 but I still think the Maserati wins even comparing C7 with performance exhaust. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3JBz58c66wE.html
Hi! I´ve seen a 2008 GranTurismo with 45K miles and its a bargain, but I'm worried about issues with the car. Yours is a 2014 i think. What do you think about the 2008 model, is it reliable?
From what I have seen on Carfax reports, the Granturismo tends to have more issues on the 08's as that was the first year introduced. The most know was an issue with the variators, but most should have been fixed under warranty. So even if it did have issues as long as the car had them addressed is the important thing to look for, and that the car was properly maintained. As the years went on they got the bugs worked out of the car. This car has depreciated so much, that for a little bit more money, one can find a Granturismo a couple years newer.
Here are some of the important things i looked for to make my decision. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t3BM8tPCBaQ.html Regardless of car. I need to see the history of a car, so I can see if it was maintained, recalls or how many breakdowns it's had in case I might be buying a lemon. For example, I was helping a family member find an Audi. We found one that had 125K miles. Very high mileage for the year, but looked in perfect shape inside and out. History showed no breakdowns and every single maintenance item was done by the book and by the dealer. So chances are that the vehicle will continue to be a good car. Honestly if the car didn't come with the history, we would have walked away from the car.
About to buy one for myself, this is a helpful video, Got sick of my Porsche Boxster and had way too many Corvettes over the years, Now that I am a Grandpa this seems perfect having a full-size back seat and still sounds great.
I do find the ride comfort and handling better than my Corvette. Also My vision is not 20/20 so driving the Granturismo is easier at night because the headlight beam turns as your making a turn and that makes a huge difference for night driving. Not sure if I talked about it on the video, but I thought I’d mention it to you. I really like that feature
i hear that ghiblis are absolute shit in terms of reliability, but granturismos on the other hand all seem to get surprising rep by comparison. im definitely thinking of getting one, doesnt seem too hard to maintain either on your own given the oil change vid you did makes it look like any car really
Don't believe the hype until you drive a Ghibli SQ4. Loved mine over the Quattoporte SQ4. It was a small little bad-a$$ car and awesome exhaust note. It was perfect for city driving and driving around town. For long distance travel, the Quattroporte was my fav. I've never owned a GT, but have driven plenty of them. Yes it was awesome, but I wouldn't knock the Ghibli.
I know, it's crazy. I paid $380 once. I was intimidated in doing it myself, just because its a Maserati. Maybe thats why they charge $600, because they realized people will pay it. When the price went from $380 to $600 I started doing it myself and I found it no harder than on my 2002 F150 or 2015 Corvette ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d59Jtf696Vw.html
I didn't think tire wear was a problem in the Ghibli. I know that the Granturismo is more sport driving oriented, so the toe in is high, around -.17 degrees making the inside wear very fast.
Corvette Dude Yeah it is. I get 50, 000 mile and 25,000 mile in too it there gone my friend said it’s because I drive the car too much but it’s a daily drive a car
I'm a big fan of watches. My local Maserati dealer has a very limited selection of apparel, so i never got a Maserati watch. This is a Rolex Gold two tone. Model 116613LB.
@@bodegaboys7475 Im just a Truck diesel mechanic. I was also a part time instructor for automotive at a technical school, but i'll add that for me the most important factor in being able to afford 4 vehicles, (if I count the Harley Davidson) has been my financial goals and spending discipline.
@@corvettedude4423 Are you still paying for this car or have you already paid for it? I'm thinking of buying a maybe 2015 model for about $ 40,000, but I'm waiting to pay for my house this year and maybe I'll buy the car in cash next summer. I'll have to watch your oil change video. Because I like to change my car oil myself.
Theres an Audi dealer in TX that will do an Oil change on a lambo for $500....some business are fkin criminals. Even had some dkhead auto chain tried to charge me $500 for a $200 battery.
More or less just a drool fest over the car vs a actual 3yr review imo. I find it hard to believe in 3yrs you only changed the oil and haven’t even changed brake pads. The reliability/maintenance bit you did was lacking if I’m being honest
why can't you point the camera out the windshield so we can see the car's performance; instead of constantly on your goofy face, just like that other goof, DeMuro?
