I've done all the work on my RennTech Benz, albeit it has been reliable. I've wanted these since a child and I've watched each single one of your (X year) reviews, thanks for keeping my dream alive and realistic 👍🏻
Sometimes I just drive this to Starbucks and back a lot of times. Sometimes I don’t even go anywhere at all and just take some side roads and enjoy the scenery lol
Love the new video on the Granturismo... Could you tell is a little on costs over the last 4 years? Been watching the videos and seems you've had no major repairs?
When the Maserati dealer put this car up for sale they The performed a major service, every fluid had been replaced. the service also Including drive belts and filters, and brand new tires. After I bought it, all I have been doing is oil changes. I have been doing them myself, using OE parts. It cost me about $120 vs $600 at the dealership. I do want to do the coolant flush and brake fluid flush soon though.
I've enjoyed your video's, thank you. I've been considering getting a Granturismo and will probably start looking next year. Do you have any recommendations on your model year vs other years? Do you have any thoughts on the MC vs Sport vs Stadale, etc?
Sorry for late reply. I like the 2013-2017 front refresh and I think those years are the best for the money. If you can afford it the the 2018-2019 have the interior refresh so you may want the updated infotainment screen. The MC has the automated manual transmission, I have never driven an MC but on other automated manuals I have driven, I like the fast shifting and the response, so if your looking for the most performance You could consider the MC.
Hey I appreciate the videos. Compared to the C7 stingray, how do you rate the -interior feel -power -reliability Is there any common problems with them either 4.2 or 4.7? Like for example the older porsche 911s suffer from IMS issues or bore scoring
The ride quality and interior quality feels better in the Maserati. Plus I really love the sound of the Maserati. The Corvette will feel quicker, I think the Granturismo is rated for about 4.7sec 0-60 compared to around 4.0 sec on the C7. The Maserati is a bigger heavier car also that seats 4 vs 2 people. Maintenance and repairs would be more expensive on the Maserati, but so far all I have done is oil changes that I do myself. I spend like $120- $130. On the Corvette I have also done my own maintenance including the fluid changes, Brake fluid , transmission, engine coolant, differential, drive belt replace, battery replaced. I also had a wheel bearing go bad at around 40k miles.
People just don't understand these cars. They jump on the internet bandwagon. My QP has been super reliable, knock on wood! Lol, now I just have to fix some sticky buttons, and I want to get the interior wood bits wrapped in alcantara to make it look even more modern. I love this car and plan to keep it and If I do upgrade Im gonna get the 2018 or newer Granturismo for the Apple carplay!
Nice car, would u advise to get a 2010 or older model this year or wait. I see that used car prices have risen due to covid Im either looking at this or a newer used bmw 5 or 4 series. Im asking for ur help because it will be my first sports car and im a little intimidated by the Maserati, i have no debt, kids, and make over 6 figs btw. Cheers!
I personally like the 2013 and newer for the front bumper redesign and i like the different seats also, and about waiting or not is a hard call, because we don't know what could happen to the car market if the federal reserve increases the interest rates.
Did you own a c6 corvette before the c7? Because I'm looking to buy a sports car and I hesitate between a c6 z06 and a granturismo S 4.7... What do you think?
The only Corvettes i have had, is the C4 and C7. The Granturismo has 4 seats. I find the ride more comfortable than the Corvette. The Granturismo is also more rare, but if you want performance then the Z06 would outperform.
well, Im 6'1 and I find it comfortable, the seat is not all the way back, i checked and have 1 inch left to retract. . Don't know if you may have seen my Corvette videos, but for comparison, on my C7 Corvette, i do have to keep the seat all the way back.
hey I love the car ! thanks for the content too. I'm currently looking to buy a 2015 Maserati gt for 48k$ with 44k miles. do think that's a decent deal at least ??
@@yungritual863 I can't really say, you didn't provide list of options that the car may have that could affect value, condition of car. If i were buying another I would like to see the service history of that car, and if it had any accidents. I would check to see what they are being sold for online, to get a better judgement. Even the area of the country has some affect on prices.
Heyy man im currently deciding between two used cars either the 17 Maserati GTS (full mc kit) and a C7 corvette, both around the same price. So if i were to choose one, which would it be.. im looking for something with more reliability and could he daily driven with no problems.. Everyone around me is convincing me that the c7 is more reliable and has much less issues than what an Italian car would have and also a better looking and driving and performance .. my main target isnt performance and power as i have a audi A5 coupe 2.0 with a bit turbo
When I bought my car it had just had all fluids and filters changed, so all I have done is oil changes. Here’s a vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d59Jtf696Vw.html Maserati charges a lot for maintenance but I find this car easy to work on and saves me a lot of money versus taking it to the dealer.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t3BM8tPCBaQ.html Here are some of the things I looked out for when I bought my car. I have been watching the prices and It looks like 2008s are holding. On my case, I decided to spend more on a newer model since I planned to keep it for several years and wanted lower mileage, and also, I really like the 2013 front end redesign and the seats.
I bought a 08 GT (4.2) with 14k miles back in Sept. 2021 and paid $30,000 for it. It now has 23k miles and not a bit of trouble with the exception of the driver door isn't as tight as the passenger..ie its opened more. It has a slight gyrating noise in the dash but I will be doing the 24k Maserati Service since they can't find any service records on it except oil changes. Here's the tears! replace all fluids, hoses, Trans flush will cost me $3,500. That doesn't include the door getting tightened. I just drove it from Maryland to SC and back and it performed impeccably to a T ! I bought a extended warranty but Maserati dealerships don't want to deal with it unless it's a Masi warranty! I had a good Indy Mechanic in VT where I lived but have yet to find one here in southern MD so I'm taking it to Masi Dealership in D.C. for the 24k service. Advice! See if you can find a Indy (Euro) shop close by because folks are scared to death to work on it! I have a slight body damage and collision shops are like, "Were not touching it" Hope this helped and good luck!
@@jefferyyoder9785 So by all fluids I assume, coolant, oil, power steering, transmission, differential, and brake fluid, but when you said hoses, is it just the radiator hoses? because $3500 seems crazy high.
@@jefferyyoder9785 I once had a shop give me their business card telling me they worked on all makes and models. I'm like great you can work on my Maserati. They then said they didn't work on them. So I handed them back the business card. I think People are scared to work on it because of the name. I will admit that even I was scared to do my own oil change when I bought this car. I did pay for one oil change. Then after that, I started doing them myself, and I thought the oil change was just as easy as on my F150. I looked tru a $10k Snap on diagnostic scanner and it didn't even have Maserati software but One of my friends that bought a scanner at a parts store had Maserati software and I tested it myself to reset my oil light. So it don't even cost that much to have diagnostic data.
I have to guess driving this car with the recent gas prices is painful on the wallet lol. Still I always liked the sleak design and I liked how it stay unchanged after 10 years just wished the interior innovated just a bit yet it's a steal compared to a Ferrari.
Not really. So this car has an efficiency mode but it’s called ice, I think it stands for improved control and efficiency, so far I’ve never even used it in all the years I’ve had the car lol. Instead I actually have some wear on my Sport mode button lol. If fuel prices keep rising I’ll try the ice mode on longer drives to see what it does. For now in my area, fuel price for premium is $4.85
Sorry for late reply, so I measured at the Maserati front bumper and was about 4 1/2 inches of ground clearance and the Corvette was about 6 1/2 inches
I'm looking to buy this car but struggling with the cost of it. How much do you think you spend on this car on a monthly basis? Also what's the maintenence cost like and what could I expect?
So it depends, on my case when I bought my car, it had just had all maintenance completely performed. Every single fluid, filters and drivebelts replaced, back then this was like a $2400 service. I would check the service history of the car and giving a call to Maserati service on what the current prices are. The oil changes on my area they go for about $600 but I do them myself with OE parts and save over $400. here's a video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d59Jtf696Vw.html
I didn’t have any breakdowns to speak about. I believe I said I haven’t had any problems since I’ve owned the car. I also don’t drive the car much so all I’ve done is the oil changes. I do my own oil changes so spend like $110 on parts using a Maserati oil filter.
@@wisam111 So another reason I liked this car is because the Maserati dealer sold it to me with brand new tires, all fresh fluids, and alignment. The tires have like 5000 miles and maybe I could go another 3-4k miles.
@@wisam111 not the way I drive lol. I also like driving this car by the empty side roads that are curvy and just enjoying the car and the scenery. Curvy roads do more wear on tires
