What makes threatening/shooting Mordin hit harder for me, is that Shepard does it with the very same gun Mordin gives you when you first meet.

I love how in Mass Effect 3 Garrus is Shepard's best friend. He's supportive to Shepard's decision regardless. While that makes him an enabler if Shepard betrayed Wrex on Tuchanka, he stands by Shepard.

I honestly love how Garrus perfectly knows Shepard's answer on Mordin's status before they don't even have to tell a word to him. Real squadmates through and through

The scene where modin screams "I made a mistake" That was perfect charecter devolpment, as we start to see he regrets helping modify the genophage, and wants atonement by helping cure it

1. Didn't recruit Garrus at Mass Effect 1 + Kill Wrex; 2. Make a poor choices that cost most of your best Crew died in Mass Effect 2 + Keep the Collector Base; 3. Do this at Mass Effect 3 + Kill Kaidan/Ashley; The Reapers: "Dude.. no offense but that ain't just Renegade, that's plain Evil, you know?"

If Wrex is in charge, then yes cure the Genophage. If Rex is in charge, then no do not cure the Genophage.

There's being a renegade, and then there's just being evil. Really glad Dan is here to show us all the things we miss by not being terrible people

It's just not worth it, sacrificing Mordin for the cure will hurt but at least you'll get more points for it and you'll end the genophage. I also like how Shepard can always confide on Garrus and tell him the truth, he's such a bro and a true best friend.

Honestly, Mordin being replaced by an almost exact duplicate of himself upon death is so boring. Wouldn't it have been more interesting if instead of having another Salarian struggling with conscience over the genophage, Mordin's stand-in would have been somebody who has to be talked OUT OF sabotaging the genophage, in direct opposition to Mordin's stance? Especially with Wreav around? Just... some difference would have been appreciated. As it stands, it cheapens Mordin's character when in absence of him, his shoes are filled completely.

In the 1st scenario you should have avoided to do the Tuchanka bomb mission just to add the cherry on top of the angry Wrex scenario (he says this tiny line before the "And before you die..." and goes like this: "That was for the bomb that exploded on Tuchanka, the one you could have been bothered to stop!!!").

I like Garris's reaction to if you sabotage and kill Morden. He fully understands Shepard's silence... and says "Damn this war."

The Salarian support really isn't worth it. A) it means betraying at least one of your allies unless you get the conditions for Mordin to survive and B) it makes parts of the Citadel DLC slightly boring without Wrex's presence. Also I'm surprised you didn't include the changes for the Extended Cut/Legendary Edition ending montage. I think that if Wreav and Eve are alive then one of the Krogan montages shows Eve raising support to deal with Wreav's new Krogan army.

You know...if you not reveal the Sabotage, only at the final moment with Mordin, you can still cure the Genophage. After all, I love that talking with Mordin as Shepard says "Everytime we talked about this before, you defended the Genophage! Hell! I had to talk you into saving Maelon's Data, how can you change right now?!" Then Mordin responds with his legendary quote, which is also one of my favorite moment. "I MADE A MISTAKE!" Also...When Shepard lets Mordin go, then the Genophage is still cured. :D And Wrex and Eve are happy. :D "Go...Save the cure..." "Thank you Shepard. Difficult decision. Why it had to be me...someone else...might have gotten it wrong..." Sidenote: If you go with shooting Mordin path, and not press the Renegade Interrupt, you see Shepard stand down and Mordin enters the elevator, pressing the button. He nods to Shepard and the elevator goes off. Then Shepard walks away, tossing away his/her gun. I find it interesting that he/she did that as well, if he/she shoots Mordin.

You don't actually have to deflect twice, only the second time. If you choose to tell Eve about the sabotage the first time, turbulence will interrupt Shepard, giving you a second chance to lie. Only the second one counts.

Man, i love Wiks. The way he says: "For eternity!" when he dies, very happily, made me drop a tear. He was one of the only salarians that were human (empathic). Wiks is such a good guy, i managed to cure the genophage with the research of ME2, i'm glad i took that decision.

No matter how renegade I am, I can't betray Wrex and the Krogan. I just can't do it.

I love this game and the fact that there are multiple combinations of possibilities based on decisions from 3 games. I really wish Bioware and EA see there is still a lot of money in the ME franchise if done right (aka not Andromeda) and it returns to the former glory with top quality villains, story, characters and meaningful choices. I'm personally not an RPG player myself, yet games of the ME trilogy belong to my most favorite games of all time.

Won't believe me but I was just thinking about this topic for a video of yours yesterday xD

I did a renegade run one time, and this happened, I really felt so bad, yes I know it’s a game, but it was sad to see, probably one of the worst renegade options that you can do .

While I cured it without question on my first playthrough (Wrex alive, Eve dead) and always defaulted to that unless I was playing extreme renegade on subsequent runs, after taking a few years off from the trilogy and playing it again a few months ago I was surprised to find my views had shifted. I think I may have been overly influenced in the past by my enjoyment of Wrex's personality, stepping back a bit I really reevaluated my decision. I just don't believe that Wrex alone would be enough to stop the krogan from starting trouble again, he's openly regarded as an extreme outlier among krogan in his outlook so I don't think the other krogan would listen to him forever. Honestly, even Wrex I'm not entirely sure about, he may be more level-headed than most krogan but he can still be very hot tempered and he's bitterly resentful of the turians and salarians, plus he has some comments in 3 about the council "having no choice" but to give them certain concessions once the genophage is cured that have always sounded troubling to me. Even if Eve is alive and with krogan women having more of a say again in their society I'm not convinced things would be OK, they say that krogan women only started being given less power after the genophage hit, meaning their influence didn't do anything to stop the krogan rebellions in the past, why should we believe things would be different this time? It's unfortunate that, necessary as it was in order to stop the rachni, the krogan were uplifted before they were ready, which led to all the trouble but it's pointless to dwell on the past; the harsh truth of the matter is that there's, in my view, simply very little chance the krogan could be cured and remain peaceful. Add to that the fact that the only way to get salarian support for the war is to sabotage the cure and the fact that, as Mordin said in 2, the genophage isn't actually a true *sterility* plague anyway meaning they _could_ still survive as a species if they could just stop infighting and actually _tried_ just made the decision to go ahead with the sabotage seem increasingly appealing. All that being said, I do understand that it's wrong to think like this really, it's playing God with the lives of a whole species and they probably should get a second chance, I just fear that second chance could have disastrous consequences for a lot of innocent people. I'm certain that if "Mass Effect 4" depicts a future where the genophage is cured the situation with the krogan will be mostly fine, maybe with a bit of tension remaining but basically as amicable as any of the races. However, it would greatly amuse the cynic in me if the galaxy was under the control of a tyrannical krogan empire by the time that game is set.

I know that Scenario 3 is what I got (back when I played ME1, I never bothered talking with Wrex, as I thought that he and his people were simply bloodthirsty Warmongers. Thus missing the chance to convince him about the cure)

The thing is, though, the Genophage has not outlived its original purpose. The existence of people like Wreav being able to reach positions of authority demonstrates that clearly. Basically all dialogue on the genophage acts as though it was this terrible war crime committed against the krogan (which it was) but never seems to focus on them having earned it. They killed billions the last time they decided that their superior physicality gave them some right to rule the universe, the council tried diplomacy and the genophage was a second-last resort. The actual last resort would have been wiping them out entirely. A lifetime later and they did not learn their lesson. If it was not obvious to literally everyone that if their birth rates were fixed, they would immediately begin another total war, the genophage would have been cured long ago. The only thing that makes it even seem partially viable here is one intelligent, level-headed guy ostensibly in charge of them, and in a century or two, that will no longer be true.

I wanna know if grunt has anything to say about the sabotage the final mission. Maybe eve if she sends emails

For ME 4 i could imagine that you have to rebuild the different worlds (Quartier Part of the game) and the great alliance between every species break, so you have a gigantic war between everyone. (Big Part of the game) your aim is to reunion all the different species.

it's shame that the same "action/consequences" shown here doesn't actually extend to the very finale of ME3 and that just turns out to be a lazy "pick one"-option without much(if any) consequences from previous choices throughout the ME series.

Though scenario 2 and 3 sounds playable to me, I mean they can always cure the genophage after the end of the game, I'm not gonna like killing Wrex but I'll try it out on 2nd playthrough

Does the Krogan Clan score include the Kakliosaur clones? You get extra kroge points for reviving an age-old mount for the krogan; they're immune to a mulititude of toxins.

If you save wrexs family armour in me1 the renegade dialogue in me3 will be different and Shepard will say I remember saving your family armour years ago thought this was cool when i done a all charater death play through

Years ago, on my Renegade run, the scene with Mordin was quite gut-wrenching, evil stuff

Mordin VA does such a great job during this mission. My canon is sabotaging the cure with Wreav and Eve but I've tried them all. Mass effect is such a great game with so much replay value

I hate fact, that normal krogan survive multiple shots from shotgun, and Wrex always get killed with 1 shitty pistol all the time.

I remember this bit of npc dialogue on tuchanka in 2, a krogan (generic urdnot) was talking about visiting his son from the female camp and enjoying his time with him, and it was little things like that that made me cure the genophage

That why you every betray wrex and eve. They are the power couple to put the korgan in a good path

In terms of total war assets, it doesn't matter. It doesn't affect the outcome of the total story

I’m doing scenario 3 so that I can save Mordin and because I don’t want to cure the genophage. However instead of killing Wrex, I chose not to recruit him in ME 1. That means he’s still alive, somewhere.

This might be a stupid question but have you considered doing a guide to get the Geth Rifle in Mass Effect 2, To get this weapon if I recall could only be done during Tali's recruitment mission but you had to be playing that level on the hardest difficulty the gun will be obtainable in the room Tali is in next to a dead geth. the gun couldn't be obtained on other difficulties

Great. So, you're saying I should have ditched Wrex in game #1.

The Salarians uplifted Krogan, the Krogan didn't evolve as a social being. Giving Krogan the cure does not at all prevent the war, doesn't matter if Wrex or Grunt are in charge, they still like "popping up planets".

Is it possible to inform them of the sabotage but still go through with it? I had this thought recently playing through Mass Effect 3. When Wrex confronts you at the Citadel he plays the audio of you and the Dalatrass but what if you told them about the sabotage while on the mission to cure the genophage?

If you kill wrex in Mass Effect 3 you will lose Clan urdnot and the Krogan Clans. You only get to keep Grunt and Arlak company

so much what if and story change but only for the final movie to only be worth playing ME 3 and you get the same ending as the player playing since ME.

You can actually get rex to survive if you go through the silversun strip and then onboard to the normandy after speaking to the asasi councilor. That's what I did and wrex was there on earth for the last mission.

i thought if you save the council and save the salarian in the citadel you get both Krogan and Salarian aid

I know someone who killed off every squad mate by the end of 3 except Mordin. If that's not careful diplomacy I don't know what that is.

The farthest i would ever go to a renegade ending for this part of the story is keeping the shroud sabotage a secret, pulling a gun on mordin and deciding not to pull the trigger. Its far more suspenseful and interesting deciding to do things that way.
