That's absolutely true, they actually did talk and shook hands afterwards! What great sportsmanship we had back then. Now it's all about penalty points and bickering on twitter.
Also 2021: Cars have no ABS and No Traction Control, the tyres don't create even close to the same level of spray,... Different times require different measures
@@TheDFreitas23 This is true, what I meant was that the FIA want races to be thrilling and safe but now cars can't even stay on track in wet conditions
The gloves, the helmet, the barcode livery, the steering wheel, the sound...gives me goosebumps on my entire body even 10 years later. Really thankful for the memories f1, ferrari and massa, the uncrowned f1 champion, gave me
@@koko400gt you do know that almost the entire was was under a safety car. In face the first 18 to 20 laps were. Meaning around 40 mins of SC before the actuall start.

Ehh yess, ofcourse. You like this way of racing, not giving each other any space at all? Sure, no one likes the stewards having to intervene but this way, battles wont last more than one corner except when there is enough run-off and the track comes back towards you so you're basically cutting the track and continuing the fight. Other than that, battles last 1 corner which really isn't fun to watch at all
And righteously so. This wasn't a battle, this was a farse, just like yesterday's "race". Running other driver off the track is anything but a battle. It stops any battle from happening.

In 2007 especially Heidfeld did a few very great races and overtakes. I remember Silverstone rain race he did two! double overtakes in that race. Or i remember how he overtook Alonso in Bahrain on the outside on dry conditions. he was 2 times on podium and 5 times on P4 that season.
Seriously it was a disgrace, the weather was not this bad, they were just scared of an incident. If you are going to be this scared, stop racing in the rain altogther.
@@ErwinLiszkowicz tha visibility is poorer and the rain is much heavier than spa 2021, and if theres no traction control drive slower, no one wants u to put pedal to the floor. The drivers today are babies.
@@preritsharma4203 kekw, you have no clue about what you're talking about. Behind the SC the visibility was worse than in this video, but sure... you know better 😂
@@ErwinLiszkowicz ohhh dont take my word for it, Take Max’s word during the first safety car stint. I guess u know better than him. He even said it during the after race show, it was quite possible to get a race if they started just half an hour earlier. But i guess u know better. And regarding racing in the rain, there are countless examples in the past 2 decades where Formula 1 has raced in much worse conditions.
TBF people be like "oh this is formula 1", i like being competitive but massa was just so dirty, and then kubica got mad and started going dirty aswell so it was pure chaos. Although it was interesting, this is just not right...
@@CrakBBCL I blame the rain, Massa did mistakes that i do in F1 games, he tries to overtake someone on the rain but he, not intentionaly, pushes the driver out of the track
@@CrakBBCL 0:53 - Massa was on the track when he used all the space to not let Kubica overtake him, but then, Kubica, coming from the grass, push Massa out of the track. Two different situations here. If Kubica have had done that while on the track, ok, fair... but no, he came from the grass, crossed the track and pushed Massa out of it. This is being dirty.
@@marcioaguiar1985 Not true, Massa pushes Kubica out of the track while being behind him, this is not allowed by the rules, he had to give him space there.
That's because this is Fuji, and not Spa. Spa has no forgiveness for mistakes, and it's a dangerous track. Fuji is mostly flat except for the last sector, which is very slow anyway. Fuji also has a lot of runoff. Spa has gravel traps and no runoff.
@Leonardo Araujo I recently watched the entire 07 and 08 seasons and they were awesome. I actually didn't know who was going to win any of the races, let alone the championship (I actually knew because I was there back in the day watching them, but still you get what I mean). Who cares about Ricciardo and Perez overtaking each other 10 times a race if at the end of the day the podium is Ham-Bot-Ver and the championship is decided with 5 races to go? Plus, everytime two cars get to a straight you know there is no way the car ahead can defend from the overtaking with DRS. No skill, just DRS.
Its like Kubica was just cruising , chilling until a challenge appeared. This man was ready to go with whatever speed necessary to keep up regardless of track conditions.
Ew no it isn't. It has NO flow whatsoever. Just a bunch of corners that are too fast for mechanical grip and too slow for aero grip so you just chug through them.
They didn't mean to take prisoners, that's for sure. Looks to me like Massa started it by not giving any space. On the next turn Kubica has his revenge. It was brutal and spectacular. There is only one question. How did they fit in the cockpits with balls this size?!
When this happens now, the car either breaks into a confetti of carbon fibre or the drivers would be crying about “unfair” fighting. Wish we had fights like this nowadays…
There never was a 2007 F1 Game. They had Championship Edition with 2006 season. Never had 2008 game and then 2009 was focused on the Wii. 2010 had the amazing music.
Massa back in the day.. i still cant believe he did not clinch 2008.. still the rightful 2008 champion.. Then 2009 completely changed him. He was never the same aggressive massa we knew and love
Both were clean tho, like they both forced each other out and fought like real man to see who would come out on top. The fact that they only banged wheels is aslo a proff of great battle remember vettel pass on riccardo in china. Here, both knew were to put their car to not spun. Now, they can't even fight properly on defensives lines
"both were clean" lol pushing someone off the track is the complete opposite of clean, they were both at the same level of dirty but partly due to the low grip
Os dois foram fantásticos. Assisti essa corrida de madrugada no Brasil, e corri para o pc para ver essa ultrapassagem pela manha, até hoje relembro a sena. Both were fantastic. I watched this race at dawn in Brazil, and ran to the pc to see this overtaking in the morning, until today I remember the scene.
