Guys i know how u love originals and how ur tryin to be all loyal to it, but this version is amazing and so is her voice and there is no doubt that this version is amazing and well sang.
(reply to below) I'm not sorry, you can hear the masterpiece, studio version with Liz Fraser anywhere! This is an amazing variation by the quintessential Martina Topley-Bird! She was the vocalist on Tricky's Maxinquaye (amongst other amazing projects)! GREAT UPLOAD! RIP Mina Mazy!
Very appropriate too; Massive Attack originated in Bristol, England and this lady is part of the Jamaican diaspora there and has a really broad Bristol accent. Love this version too, for that reason and the unique guitar sound used. :)
@SIMONDUKEN Difference is, this is a live performance. Elizabeth Frazer's vocals were recorded over numerous takes in a studio and digitally mastered to sound the way they do on the record.
@TllGrrl google "audio extraction" to save this vid's audio in mp3 format using its web address (from the address window at the top of your browser). I wanted to give you a website but this was blocked by YT.
@thecelt001 no someone said that martina topley bird is the original...i like them both but this song sounds better by elizabeth frazer. peace!! have a nice summer holidays!!!
Actually, the voice is perfect for Massive Attack, as they originated in Bristol, England and this young lady is part of the Jamaican diaspora there and singing in a broad Bristol accent.
+nate coulter That be Martina (Trickys ex/old singer) and voice isnt out of tune like the comment below, that will be a Bristol accent. Although there's quite a lot of reverb on the vocals. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Topley-Bird

I think I like this version even less because it is coming from Massive Attack themselves. If this was just some fanmade cover, I'd be like "okay, nice try". But this version has no pulse, no passion, Martina's vocals pale in comparison to THE Liz Fraser's. I just can't help but feel Liz's absence when I hear this, and that's never a good sign. Aurora actually did a cover that sounds much more harmonious to the orignal's energy, that's also saying something.
