Sounds like they lost confidence in the dam. Same thing happened to Arkabutla in Mississippi. the found a spot that was weak so they drained the lake. we are still waiting for permits. hopefully they will add some more water this time. your lakebed looks almost dead anyway. maybe they can plant the bed. as they begin to fill plant some water grasses that don't grow long etc. need to start putting cypress in the lakebed now.

Hello from the future we can’t travel through time but we can send msgs to the past .,. Lake Conway 100 years later is doing just fine as a world class bass lake , it’s great watching these old 100 year old vids of the lake draining, so glad someone archived it for us to watch as once again the lake is slated to be drained next year . Sad because it just filled back up last week and finally got a crappie over a pound for the first time using technology to beam fish straight on the boat deck .,, we don’t use poles anymore just live beaming scope 😂

I don't understand why this lake is being drained. All of Mission Bay in San Diego was dredged and expanded without problems. Whatever the reason for draining that lake is, it could have been accomplished without destroying that beautiful impoundment. It seems that whenever the government gets involved in anything, local or otherwise, they don't bother to get enough input from proper sources to make an educated decision. Instead, they simply accepted the lowest bid. It's so sad.

@@louisaziz1235 shallow water lakes don’t have to be drained like that , you can just build levees a section at a time and do it triple quick and not loose a single fish , this is a money making scam of some sort I find it hard to believe they lost the technology to do a shallow lake drain correctly . Hopefully it could be a covert way to stimulate our failing economy in this area and is very likely some good people behind it with good intentions rather than a scheme of some sort follow who benifits the most the public or individual contractors and government and you will have your answer imo .
