Great to find another classical music lover. I have 30k classical lp's. Sometime I'll post them here, now they're only on Flickr. Thanks for your reviews
Fantastic finds! I've really got to get down there some time. Yes, all those Berglund/Bournemouth records are wonderful, especially the Shostakovich and Sibelius symphonies. Have you discovered the Groves/RLPO EMI catalogue - a ton of what used to be called "second-tier" British music, but which is actually first rate, in wonderful sound. Bravo on finding that Ansermet/Bartok LP - I've never seen that in the wild.
Hi Mark! Thanks for watching, I miss your videos, I hope you make some more! I have the whole Berglund/ Sibelius cycle and really love those recordings, especially his 4-7. I don't believe I have any Groves, I will keep my eyes peeled for them.
most were like 15-30, some were more like 50-75ish and the SAX's I paid real money for, but I figure in the U.S. I'm maybe never going to see these titles in this condition ever again. To be Honest I believe the whole lot was about 1600 bucks.
I was there a couple of weeks ago and picked up a few. I would have bought many more if I didn't already have a 'ton' of classical audiophile records. Great finds!
@@FLOWERINGSPIKES Thanks! I just reached Jake and traded some emails. I thought very highly of Brian. Thanks for your videos. I'm very happy to have discovered you!
Basically, ya! There were some super analogue there too in the bins and some other guy bought them while I was digging in boxes! He had the Sibelius 2.
@@FLOWERINGSPIKES I think the 2nd record you flipped through was the Brahms Clarinet Quintet by Wein Octet - I just found that on Super Analogue for 6,000yen and I think its the best sounding so far of my 40 odd SA discs! rare one never seen it before in tokyo
