What's up Pete!! Keep on keeping on. Never realized there was so much hate out there for your success. This week I was called a GCI "cheerleader" for giving an honest review of your seed. I won't say this name, but he's down in Salisbury, NC. Update....I've been blocked from the Fescue Freaks page and wasn't gonna call him out, but Olee Poole is butthurt.
Haters are a dime a dozen bro. They everywhere. How we treat them defines our character and who we are. I choose grace and forgiveness. Hope you can do the same…I appreciate you friend.
Oh well some days are rut's and some days are Bermuda. Nice work Pete. Sanded ( 15 ton not me, done professionally ) my Tif 419 stand in Upstate SC last month and I plan to again the next two to three seasons so these Bermuda sanding episodes particularly interest me. Thank you.
I wish everyone could find something they love to do, and make a living out of it. In my opinion, there is nothing better. Thanks for sharing your life with us, Pete! You are an inspiration to so many people. God Bless. #hugefan
Keep up the amazing work Pete, thank you for all you do! Idc if someone thinks I'm a cheerleader, or a fan boy, you have earned my respect and then a ton more. God bless!
Wow that G2 turf float is nice for sure goes well with the Ventrac got to be best set up for sure. Maybe one day I can take a month off work and come work for you for a month for free just to learn how you do things. Find it fascinating how you do what you do. Thanks for sharing Pete.
Do you have to have a specific type of grass to sand level? I know you have to cut your yard pretty low to level it. Your videos are awesome Pete! Keep them coming. Been praying for your family and the triplets. God answers prayers my friend!
I live your passion and excitement for the work you do.....your channel is the best, your content is so good, I love the Ventrac and your promote it well! Great video.... please share more!
Looking great Pete! Have you ever considered using a tow behind top dresser or Utility vehicle mounted unit like is used on golf courses? While a bit of a learning curve at first, they are quite a bit more precise than dropping buckets of sand around the field... although really any method works.
@@GCITurf Pete I have the Turfco met matic 4. Love it I used it to spread sand and topsoil and this year I did compost at over seeding and it spread the fines of the material perfectly at a .25 inch. Have a great day!!!! Your venteac will pull it hold a yard of material
Looks great Pete, wow that's allot of work! What exact sand are you using? I just started reel mowing my KBG and it is looking fantastic. I'm getting ready to aerate and overseed and was also thinking about leveling everything off with some sand (I live in Iowa) but not real sure on the exact type to use? Any help would be appreciated!
Why would you use a regular mortar sand for leveling/topdressing? The clay and silt particles are way high in red mortar sand. You need a clean washed sand or you will eventually lock up the rootzone of the turf. You need a USGA quality Washed Fairway Sand or at least a washed White Mortar Sand for for sand leveling Bermuda. Yeah, dump trucks on playing surfaces are always a no go. Always been a fan and a subscriber to multiple guides. Best of luck with this part of your business.
Great work Pete. Love seeing a great looking outfield. Wondering why the fertilizer the day after rather than a day or two before? Or have you not noticed an advantage to getting it growing gangbusters prior to the sand level. Thanks!
Pete, I have two ball fields that I am maintaining. I am considering core aerating next week because of poor drainage. I then will be sand capping the fields (both infield and outfield) and then giving it a nitrogen app shortly after. Normal frost date is Nov 1st. Does that sound like a wise plan?
I could watch that leveling all day. Is there a point where a depression in the soil is too deep for just sand? Like septic line runs that have sunk down over time.
Ya know I never realized how serous this job actually is....mess up one spot, leave an uneven spot, roll a girl's ankle...she loses a possible scholarship opportunity from injury, maybe never plays again. I never realized how serious this work actually is. It's not just some grass like most people may think.
