Clem's Cooking reminded me of the stuff I had to do when I lost my job and was facing eviction. I would eat anything to survive, and tried to make bad foods taste good. I respect that mans hustle, and wish I could buy him a good ass burger. People like Clem helped me not starve, and so grateful for my folks giving me a 2nd chance to get my life together.
Clem seems like he knows good flavor, techniques, hygiene, and just how to cook good in general but just doesnt have a ton of money to spend on steaks or fancy/expensive foods
@@g.s.375 Our family tip, especially for ground meats and cuts---Discount meat. If you're gonna cook it that night, definitely look for discounted meat. Budget cooking can be very delicious. Its not always feasible and we have just done hot dogs before, but sometimes the value packs are on a good discount and we eat well for 2 nights.
@@bigschmill294 truth. Got 3lbs of steak-some low quality London broil cuts, and some bottom round, for less than $15 yesterday. Flank steak for carne asada is that much per pound. Discount meat for the win.
Kingcobra literally microwaved a burger twice because it was mooing at him. The man vaporized french fries. He's a danger to himself and others behind a stove
Clem actually seems like a chill dude, food looked decent, clean kitchen, nice guy, just trying to use low cost ingredients to show low income people they can be interested in cooking as well.
Lol I'm like really happy and sad that Cobra is finally get attention. I'm not caught up on his lore, but from what I remember it seemed like deep down he was a good dude just surrounded by bad people.
Just saw the thumbnail and I'm genuinely worried about cobes He's for sure not a good dude, he has a lot of flaws. But he isn't mean or purposefully malicious. Just very disconnected and naive. I do not want him to be turned into some Chris Chan esc monstrosity due to insane amounts of manipulation and "trolling" He's got a very protective following, so I'm just hoping this level exposure won't do too much damage.
Clem's cooking is exactly what he promised. Poor man's hotdog cheesesteak. Good execution and useful tutorial. Nothing like "1 dollar plate! *as long as you buy minimum 500 dollars of groceries at once."
@@Analogmemories245 it's probably a bot. Don't @ them, or click on the pages, and never click a link from a bot. People have lost control of their accounts previously. I think it was about a year ago that exploit started.
Charlie seems like the most intelligent person you’ve every spoken to, then he saves a tab for how to make a PB+j and mayonnaise burger. Every ingredient is in the name of the burger. I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed
@@Sqkz. probably because people think charlie's vocabulary is above average even tho it's as good as any other's vocabulary, which just makes me think the people who look up to him aren't as "well-versed" as the average person. Rather than looking up to him as an intelligent person, I look up to him for being a genuine soul. He's kind, not afraid to express himself, and he's genuinely funny. Not many people I've seen are like that, which says a lot about how many people are being mean nowadays. Instead of ridiculing or attacking cooking channels, he's just making observations and even giving the "peanut butter and mayonnaise burger" a chance.
@@kommstein5692 yeah I like him cuz he's genuine and charming, in no way do I find him to be some intellectual, most the shit he says is funny cuz it's so dumb and void of logic
I feel like everyone that cooks has weird recipes that they like and we might not. I cook stuff myself where people are looking at me "wtf are you eating", well im enjoying my god dam meal.
Hot dogs are already full of fat and you wanna put them in extra oil? To be honest that sound super gross Just like people that use to much oil for their eggs
@@sonicartzldesignerclan5763 Oil is essential in much of cooking, it not only makes non-stick pans usable, but it helps to transfer heat and get a better sear on foods, plus, if you're eating hot dog cheesesteak, you are probably not worried about fats, c'mon.
@@Tavares0709 Bro i just say if you eat something thats full of fat and put that in oil its to much Especially if its fatty already You dont cook bacon in oil either You cook the bacon and use the fat for a better flavour progressing cooking after with that fat the meal So you dont need oil for fat sasusages cause the fat already would make it cook it If you do eggs you need oil or butter or something but to much is gross
@@sonicartzldesignerclan5763 are you illiterate or just ignored what the man said, you dont cook bacon in oil because it has grease enough inside it to not need it, if you tried to cook hot dogs in a pan without some oil or butter all you would do is sear them to the pan, make a huge mess and ruin the food
"We're not Spongebob. We're not working at the Krusty fucking Krab, okay?" should be put into every video when Charlie has finished cooking. 11/10 cooking skills, 12/10 for the trouser shitting halfway through. Would rate again.
i don't know if KingCobraJFS has ever cooked anything that didn't include doritos or peanut butter. he has a cordial cherry burger that looks absoultely dreadful
@@Christian_Crab The only thing we all can do is just keep reporting these whenever you see them, unless youtube finds a way to figure this issue out this is probably it right now
honestly looked like good cooking on a budget. some people have to cook within their means and he’s teaching people how to do that. nothing but respect for Clem💪
Clem seems like a real struggle king, keeping his head up and doing his best with what he's got. Whoever recommended him to Charlie as an example of goofy bad cooking did the man dirty.
2:46 the only bad thing in this recipe was the cheese he used, I really think I'm trying this at home, I'm legitimately surprised by the fact that it seems very good
The hot dog thing I did too, but it's better to just mix meat and vegetables with boiled rice, fry a bit, add curry, chilli, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce and it's premium shit.
That first meal is genuienly good, I tried it, I think that's actually a good chef that just tries to do some cooking for lower-class folks, that's nice of him.
Honestly that first meal was great. Those vegetables softened the right amount. No flying onions. The buns were toasted perfectly. My only two suggestions: buy the beef hot dogs (the cheap chicken/pork ones are disgusting), and use better cheese, maybe even place the slices on top the food on the pan so it melts more.
The point of the food is to be cheap as possible while still being very cheap (the meal only cost 95 cents). Beef hot dogs cost more than the pork ones Clem was using, and same deal with the cheese. It would however make the food tastier, but it would also up the cost quite a bit.
He could've sliced the hot dogs length wise into fourths, and cut them again when they're parallel each other. I also recommend sauteing vegetables like peppers before adding the hot dogs
9:28... It's 2am rn & I'm watching Charlie react to some guy farting on screen for 2 minutes straight... Even analyzing the fart sounds. What tf is wrong with my life...
As someone who has worked in a professional cooking setting, there’s nothing wrong with the first clip. He even calls it “poor man’s.” Homeboy made some grub.
Fun fact: traditional Italian meatballs are called "papellis" and are about the same size as his, sometimes even bigger! They are served right on top of the spaghetti in the middle of the plate and topped with parmesan cheese. Some people cut it up and mix it all in, while some others just cut a bit off with every bite. Bon appetit!
I feel like a lot of these guys did some time in prison, especially the ones who combine Top Ramen with blocks of cheese and everything else under the sun.
I had a Cuban lady show me that you can add an egg and shredded cheese to ramen after you drain the pot and it actually turned out fantastic once the egg scrambles. Makes them seem way less salty and a lot more filling
I dunno, his videos used to be funny when it seemed more like he was "in on" his whole status as a meme (at least a little bit), but have just gotten kind of weird and depressing in the last few years as his alcoholism has worsened and he's left the house less and less (over the pandemic he kinda turned into like...something resembling a homeless Vietnam vet, even though he's not even homeless, it's like hard to describe, but that's totally his vibe now)
@Mike TMDWU. Cobie is a train wreck I'll never stop participating in. I'm coming up on about 6 years as well. Some good times with cobes. Rip homeboy scotty
It never seems to amaze me how much you make me laugh Charlie! I can’t even count how many times or how many days you just turned my whole mood around just by watching you be you and it genuinely makes me happier just watching you. Thank you for being here and doing you man! Love you Charlie! -Moist minion out🤙🏼
from a normal human, it's nothing excellent but if I made something of the quality his dishes are I'd eat it. Although I do think I would not eat it if cobra delivered it to me himself

Cobra is like way back in the day, trying so hard to be serious and doing this grody sht, now he's like full embraced meme and even when he does something weird it looks damn good. Man's actually figured his stride out.
@@buddytheweim nah, not how I mean it. His spiral downwards is more a sign of embracing than anything, hes just accepting how people want him to be rather than how he wants to be.
Be careful what you say about KingCobrajfs He's a dark wizard , He will summon thunderstorms to your town And make sure all the crosswalks never light up, He scares the shit out of me
he's literally spent over half an hour explaining how he doesn't smell bad and how in fact women always note how good he smells whenever he's in public bc of fine pipe tobacco and tactical soap lol (like that's almost verbatim what he's said), no one who *doesn't* smell bad would feel the need to devote that much time to talking about how they don't
