Fairly sure the play at 14:41 was EOT crack fetch for a Blood Crypt for revolt and Fatal Push the Grief, and then untap and hope to hit a 5th land for your Fury/draw another answer for their Fury (which you were going to need to spike anyway with Goyf discarded)

Yeah that (or hitting Grief with K-command) seems like something to at least consider. Grief is a menace.

Only Reid the long time Jund master who has played a lot of decks similar to this list can still go hey I'm changing it to be more like mine but credit to the guy who won the mocs who came up with the idea. We just need to find this user and get him to say he got the idea from watching Reid and it will become a wholesome Spider-Jund meme

Is there a benefit to killing specifically Ragavan at the beginning of combat vs before damage during declare blockers?
@faseel4392
@faseel4392 Год назад
In a lot of matchups and scenarios no, but the general answer is it can inform your blocks. For instance, if they counter your removal, having the option to block is nice

Why not fetch shock & push the Grief @14:57? You then can draw a Liliana, Terminate, or an untapped land to help beat the Fury

Couple of questions from someone trying to get into modern and likes the look of Jund, but what's the reason Dauthi Voidwalker isn't used in Jund decks, at least as a sideboard option for Murktide? Also do you think Orcish Bowmasters has a place in this deck as it seems like a fun card to me and I'm looking for a good place to use it?
@UncleVersace
@UncleVersace Год назад
Voidwalker is good, and depending on the meta, I think it's perfectly reasonable to play it in Jund. The biggest issue is that there are a lot of really powerful 2-drops in these colors, so deciding what to trim is tough, and sometimes it's just better to play someone other than Voidwalker.

@rossmcbeath4997
@rossmcbeath4997 Год назад
I like that play better as well. Grief is a huge threat with menace and mana value 4. Also, dealing with a card on the board, that had mana invested in it, tends to be better at undoing their mana investments.

1:34:37 you mention a lot had to go right to win this true and I think a decent portion was of course decisions made. Like I think when they forgot about Juicy J I think they might have figured hoping for disruption was a better plan and when they went all in the very next turn sacrificing an untapped land without floating mana while keeping 1 blue or red up I read that as they had found said disruption and it was spell pierce and if you had used terminate there might have lost the game. And given they use one a couple turns later ups the odds they had it then. Part of this is the opponent seemed to be playing real tight as well and at that stage with you likely having removal and trying to gain control it's not unreasonable to go for the chance of protecting your creature that can win in 2 turns over putting a companion in your hand that by the time you can cast with the way the game was going might be too late to matter. So props to both of you this was some great back and forth

@mattleemb6283

Don't really understand in g1 why you didn't just evoke fury pitched Kcom and then after it resolves with grief still on stack push the grief you would have both been 0 cards but you get first draw and you are playing jund and top decking is where you thrive. Maybe I'm missing something? with this play you didnt have to depend on a land draw to play fury next turn. It would have been a 4:2 but realistically abrupt decay is doing nothing for you so its not that big of a loss
