Received it last week but I will not open it for the time being. I have the box displayed though....and I don't want to use my pool table to display it. It is a piece to behold, and in my opinion, with the right price. There's a lot of effort into putting this piece together and a lot of people working together on this project that won't do it for cheap. Quality products should be compensated. I am a vintage collector and this piece will flawlessly fill in the void for the vintage Eternia and even with a better quality the vintage. Definitely a dream come true! Jared, excellent review. Keep'em coming! ...and congrats for the new Baby!!!!......best of luck and good health for all!
My Eternia gets delivery tomorrow! This video has been the best and most comprehensive review I have seen so far for the Eternia playset!! Great review Jared and good luck with the new baby!
You do a great Job! Thanks for all your hard work and for sharing your collection with us. I would love to see what else you're collecting. Regards, your long lost brother
Great and wonderful review I really really enjoyed your content and look into this absolutely amazing holy grail of a playset.I did get mine and absolutely have no regrets and would do it all over again.Thank you for taking your time out in your busy life to make this review and congratulations on the new baby. As a father myself its the best thing to ever happen to me other than fulfilling all of my inner child's desires we really are lucky to have this Masterpiece and i hope you enjoy. 😉 "I don't want to grow up I'm a TOY'S R US Kiddult" "We have the power" Good Journey 👊💯
Really good review and definitely one of the better ones I’ve seen! I love your set up, the print under the playset and the sky/cloud background really adds to the overall display!
it's a really great playset to own. but, the price point when it first started and how they didn't even put on there a way for people to make down payments on it instead of one giant payment all at once, it was already too late. people were getting mad about it and it never made it to the final tier for that other figure and on top of all of that, i never got around to backing it cause it wasn't in my budget and the other thing, i didn't have the space for it. it's just going to be that one motu playset i will never own. which makes me a little sad. but, that's life.
So much to say about this incredible acquisition... And that poster! Well, I could hear your pain about the sticker handling, that is one of the main reasons I backed off to be honest. The modularity of the vehicles made to circulate around the towers is really interesting. I really like the offensive movement that has been added to the Viper Tower (hummm, lunchtime! Lol). I don't think that mechanic was optional back in the day. I can't wait to see your future displays, including the Motuc figures, which bodes well for some exciting battlefields, considering how diverse this legendary line was. Can't wait to see what Mattel is cooking up with the Snake Lair in the future. A little disappointed, though, that the Fright Zone (which I was most excited about) had to be postponed for another time. Anyway, enjoy this masterpiece dear Jared (how could you not?). 😉
Mine still sealed in box. Trying to figure out how to display it. This is one piece I don't regret one bit. Worth every cent. Don't fill it with water. You don't want water stains, or how the paint will react. Don't take the risk with a one time deal playset. You can't replace it, if it gets damaged.
Man, I love mine but the stickers drove me nuts. I put a tiny rip in one. Once they touch the plastic, if you try to pull them up, the back will come off and they may rip. I feel like Lego stickers are more forgiving and you’re able to easily adjust so that was my major gripe. Otherwise, it’s amazing!
Yes that’s exactly the issue! The adhesive is so strong and the paper so thin that readjustments are almost impossible. The only thing I did for one that worked (which I’d already messed up anyway lol) was use a heat gun on low for about 2 and a half minutes. Then it could come off alright but still not perfect.
Awesome review! And I look forward to the sundry MOTU dioramas you have planned. I just got my Eternia today but I won't be able to assemble it until next weekend. Still, I'm so geeked now that I have it in hand and see all its potential. A dream come true!
For those of us who bought it out right full price out of fomo of missing out on King Greyskull $650 is allot but for people who were able to order it via the $50 dollars a month paymen't plan it's really not much at all because they only had to pay over time where allot of us had that $650 taken out all at once which is a gamble these days to make big purchases for allot of us.
This thing is massive! I don't own this, but I can tell by just how large it is with the figures standing beside it. As far as the moat, you can always get an Amazon or Walmart turkey baster it'll suck the water out real fast without having to move the structure. Then just take a wash cloth and dry out the excess. Was thinking add water in it then a drop or two of some green food coloring to turn the water color green. I think that would look pretty cool.
I think I'm going to skip putting the chair and dummy in mine to have more action space. They can always be just standing at the computer. Great review. Can always tell when a true fan does these. Do you think they'll make the ship that fits into the turret base like the retro?
Great setup. I too want to go for a grassy look on my Eternia set as opposed to rocky look. Is what you’re using from train diorama pieces? Also can you share where you got the sky backdrop? Thanks
Thank you, absolutely! I definitely prefer it in grasslands as it’s been portrayed in the Netflix shows. Here’s the paper. They had it at my local Michael’s store for 10 bucks! www.michaels.com/product/pacon-fadeless-designs-paper-rolls-clouds-10471604 and as for the grass I got 2 of these www.michaels.com/product/mini-green-grass-mat-by-make-market-10260223?michaelsStore=1065&inv=3 the other stuff is random foliage I found at hobby lobby etc
Agreed, bright green grasslands are best and truly add to that great color pop from all the characters combined. Mattel really knocked it out of the park with that beautiful blue central tower. I need to get mine unboxed already but not looking forward to all those stickers. Ugh!
Here’s the paper. It’s called fadeless.
I'm curious to know... if someone put this on a circle table, what would the minimum dimensions need to be for the base of the three towers to all fit on the table?
Good question. I used to know all the answers when I measured it out for my current display lol. Maybe someone here will know it though. If not I can remeasure some time.
Did you see the new netflix series? i liked revolution a lot more than the first part. I thought revelations was ok, didnt hate it, but second series much better
