This filmation He-Man is one of the very best I've ever seen. I have them all, except the Prince Adam Cringer set, it's on pre-order. I love this cartoon line . I'm 50 and when I saw the first wave come out I knew I'd be collecting them all since I was not so far behind as I was in origins. Lol Subscribed, awesome review.
Here in the UK mine has arrived today, only took just over a week to come. Can’t wait to unbox when I get home from work. Jitsu is gonna take pride and place in it.
I was happy to pick up two of these from Mattel Creations! I think the best way to release Night Stalker would’ve been to sell it in the same case as Stridor, in equal numbers.
Great review as always! I also was hoping as many of us I'm sure for the window box. Especially if you are a collector in box and want to put him next to Stridor.
I had the vintage one as a kid (and yes, I always treated him as Jitsu's steed rather than Skeletor's). I never got the Classics one, as I didn't have much in the way of disposable income during most of the Classics run (but wow, that is a good looking version in Classics). I did buy the Origins version, and it arrived last week (with the Collector), and I am very pleased with it. It'll be displayed with Jitsu once again. Nice video!
Thanks for the review! Hoping to find these 2 at WalMart, as online scalper prices are through the roof. Also, was wondering when you are going to do your next update on your MOTU Origins figure ranking video? (And do you collect and rank the Masterverse figures also?)
You are so welcome! I typically wait for a year of releases to update my origins rankings, so once a year is what I aim for. I’m actually only a couple of figures away from having a complete Masterverse collection so when I get those I’ll be doing the Masterverse ranking video! Hopefully before the month is out. Thanks for watching!
Too me Wun-Dar will probably always be my #1 as someone born after even the 200X show finished airing my connection to these characters has always been how they look and smth about the brown hair and black armor tickled my brain the right way to get me into the line and MotU as a whole!
Another miss of a mile is a green Goddes, It is also one of my favourite figures! I also like the first release Skeletor the most! It is funny how different taste two people who are into same franchise could have. 😅
I love your passionate defenses of the figures you enjoy! It would be awesome to see your own ranking some day! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your opinions bro! God bless and take care my friend
Begining of the list and I am already so disagree... 😅 Kronis is really cool because You can enrich Your Ethernia by another representant of other race or specie of a blue skin men aswell as Keldor. The same with the comic book Stratos. I have multiple of them to create an army of Avians with grey Stratos as a lider. By the way He man is also a half naked guy abd nobody boders. ;)
LOL snake men infiltrator is one if my favoutite figures! 😅 It was my only option to buy a palace guard replacement due to lack in stores regular palace guards so I bought multiple "snake men guards" instead.
At first, when I saw the uncolored vintage card-back artwork for these figures, I was disappointed. Over time though, the designs have grown on me. The colors make them pop quite a bit. I still think the unproduced last wave of heroic characters came out a little better/more distinctive (Strobo, Plasmar, Slamurai). It may be a false memory, but for some reason, I seem to recall some speculation online on various forums that several of these characters had different working names, as do so many other characters during the design process. I want to say that Plasmar was known as Hot-Shot at some point, and Terroar was Zip-Neck... which makes me curious as to if the initial plan back in the 1980s was to have Terroar's neck make a "zip" sound effect when retracted or extended, which would've given him more of a distinctive action feature. Regardless, fun to speculate! The unknowns and mystery around these characters are part of the charm. Great review!
Cutting the Kronis vest will replicate terroar's vest easily, and if you use hot water , it won't damage the figures' leg sockets at all to give him the right waistoff Rattlor. Takes less than a minute to make a waist switch if someone wants to. That's how I made a Terroar custom a year ago.
I like to think of Terroar as "The Thing" of MOTU. His classics bio, for as much as I frown at them, is his only lore and I'd like to see it expanded on in a horror sort of way.
Great review, you definitely made some fair points about a lot of the reviews I’ve disagreed with. The complaints about the extra joints are ridiculous because someone else would just complain about him not being posable. The likeness of Keaton is definitely great. People should just appreciate we got an 89 Batmobile AND a Keaton Batman at this level for less than $100. McFarlane did a good job here👍
Hey this Dwight like tell you about this Moss Man got my at my Walmart Erwin NC he is $5 think about this got him today this morning 🌅 okay happy with him have fun with your i have fun with my okay love Dwight Jr 👍👍👍
Great review Jared, I just received my Extendar order today here in Tokyo - Thank God Mattel ships to Japan! Even though I didn’t grow up with this figure, his designs are growing up on me in recent years and I look forward to displaying him with Stridor as a shining armored knight on his steed, MOTU style! I gotta say I grew up obsessed with medieval knights and castles, so this figure hits a real string for me, and I am really glad to get this figure. I’m older than you as born in ‘78, so I had MOTU original figures from different years as a kid growing up in Canada, but not that many. And today I learned that your favorite faction is the same as mine; the Snake Men! I’ll never forget the first time I saw King Hisss as a kid and my grandparents got it from me that day. They are also my all time favorite MOTU faction. I also wanted to say that actually, contrary to what you said in your video, the vintage Extendar figure also featured curved extension areas on the arms, pretty much at the same angle as this Origins figure. I thought I would mention it because I myself had been under the impression, not having grown up with this figure, that the arms were straight extensions, until I looked deeper and found images online of the vintage figure sideways. Keep up the good work, you’re the best MOTU figure reviewer out there, in my honest opinion!
Thank you for this awesome comment and kind words! You’re so right about the curves! Great to hear from a fellow Snake Men enthusiast! King Hisss forever!
I'm old enough to remember 80s MOTU in real time, but never got the chance to outgrow it. It wasn't about being on to the next line for me - production ceased. And one thing I can confirm is that Mattel had absolutely no idea what to do with MOTU back then. There were certain details that I became aware of after the fact but I recognized it as a kid. That's the crazy part about seeing how it's handled today. It's not that I think they are "ruining my beloved toyline", but more that it is mirroring the past in a way that invites collapse without resolving on its own volition.
Nice review Jared. I missed out on him, not one of my favorite characters, but I might try to pick one up later. Congrats on the new addition to the family. :) Glad everyone is doing well. 🙂
Hey buddy, great video. I collect vintage and customise but don't really collect Origins except on occasion. How come Thunder Punch He Man is so expensive. Is it a US store exclusive (In UK)? Thanks
Hey thanks! Is it super expensive in the UK you mean? I don’t think it was ever exclusive or anything over here. I know that it’s a tough situation over there for a lot of the figures!
@fanboysforever that's exactly what I meant. Sorry it wasn't clear. I was falling asleep lol. Yeh it's going for £50 - £100 routinely and usually the higher end. Its probably the main reason I don't collect the whole line. The mark ups and difficulty on exclusives are crazy. Cheers
Being born in '80, for the most part, I still remember where I found a good chunk of the figures. Extendar came from Sears, as did the Wind Raider. Modulok came from Woolworths (really showing my age there)! And Whiplash from a local pharmacy... the figures really were everywhere, even at little convenience stores. He looks great with the lance. It is sort of odd that he only includes the shield, but otherwise he looks really good. Congrats on the new family addition :)
Congratulations👍🏿. ...Now she just needs some MOTU themed onesies 😁. Mattel get on it: we need an infant size Battle Armor insignia, Roboto gears, & Orko "O" 3 Pack immediately!
