I was already undecided to get a mimo 3-12 or a quspot withe the router inside. Now I’m thinking maybe get this. I do like the look of the quspot as I’d only need to run one cable. I’m looking to either stick it on the roof or on a pole and run cables to the awning. This is cheaper and as our caravan is stored on-site I would know the direction of the towers once I’d found it. Thought the quspot is convenient.
Yeah if signal strength / speed is your measure of performance then in a static location it’s better. However when in motion or if ease of use is the measure of performance then Omni is probably a better choice.
I work in a shipping container. I don't get any phone signals. Will this set up work in the 20*8 shipping container? I have electric connection but no phone line for ethernet.
Finding the right band is a bit trial and error but using the cell mapper website you can see what bands the network you are on on the towers near you. It depends on the Router you have as to if you can lock the bands or not. Some (like the Teltonika range) have it in the administration pages and some like the Huawei 535-232 can be accessed via Java script see this video here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tRIIWwU8kCQ.htmlsi=8-B1rNJkd_Xr0JY8
What’s the best antenne for the rut 955? Nice vids. Love your test video’s ooh and what’s the best setup for wifi inside. I have the 955 with the puck. But not always great wifi near the van.
If you are looking to use it on a vehicle / in different locations currently my recommendation would be the Poynting Mimo 3-15 which has LTE,WiFi and GPS compatibility - this will enable you to utilise the WiFi antennas built into the Poynting antenna giving better WiFi coverage than the stock ones. amzn.to/3sKDgLz
@@ExploreVanUK 👍 excellent. I could go for the 17 if I would change the router later to the rx 12 or 14. Are the rut routers with built in wifi or sending the wifi threu the external antenna.
Hi glad it was useful. I believe the H112-370 CPE pro has 2 TS9 external antenna connections so you would need adapters I have used these ones in the past. amzn.to/3O1HOVB to connect to the factory provided external antenna sockets. It's worth noting that as the H112-370 CPE is a 5G router it will have more than 2x2 Mimo antennas (it probably has 4x4 4G and 4x4 5G Antennas in the unit) so even with an external antenna some of the signals will still need to reach the internal antennas for it to work to it's best potential, there are services like Router-mods that provide a modification service to add connectors for the other antennas. router-mods.co.uk/product/huawei-cpe-pro-2-5g-h122-router-modification-services/
I wouldn’t say they are waterproof. Weatherproof potentially. Personally I would put the connections in a waterproof junction box but I do tend to go over the top. A good covering of self amalgamating tape and mounting so that water drains away from the connection is probably plenty of protection.
The connector of the extension cord is usually not waterproof. It is recommended to wrap the interface with waterproof tape after connection to achieve a waterproof effect.
