I was just watching the new Match Game and it still doesn’t compare to the original one. The contestants on with Gene Rayburn were more demure This new one the contestants are sometimes a wee bit overbearing and the cast are vulgar Gene Rayburns group were suggestive but far from vulgar Plus the contestants were all so beautifully dressed I think this new Match Game should take a leaf out of The old Match Game a classy wonderful show So glad it’s back and can watch it on GSN
Watched for a few minutes when it first came out a few years ago and that was it. Unfunny, liberal pos host with equally unfunny, liberal, anti-American liberal absolute TRASH for what they call "celebrities". Yeah, right. All the remakes are that disgusting, especially the new supermarket sweep. All anti-white racist, liberal, immoral TRASH!
Couldn't agree more, and demure is a spot-on description, people generally seemed more respectful back then/in the good old days (not "back in the day" thanks). Best thing about the show was the naughty and suggestive humour, delivered by naturally funny people, who knew how to banter without being coarse (coarse can be as funny as f*** too of course), and who didn't have to live with the constant burden of tossers like us spouting off in self-righteous judgement over every word they said. My therapist recommended that I take a couple of Match Games intravenously every day to keep myself on the right side of sane.
I really enjoyed seeing the writer-side of Ann Elder come out in these episodes. She gave thoughtful and interesting answers that were not necessarily predictable. Its not something the show had a lot of going forward.
Kind of slow again this week but Brett won the week giving away 6,000 in a head to head and audience match matches for the regulars. Richard had 11 matches for the week for the regulars. Ann gave away 5,250 dollars in head to head and audience match matches with 9 matches, also Robert had 9 matches for the semi regulars. Morey gave away 500 dollars and Joyce gave away 250 dollars in audience match matches..

Christmas tree was the answer I thought of, it was a great answer. She deserved more matches than that. How could any contestant ever think to say, "The janitor's brother" (Morey's answer)?? Morey seemed to deliberately give un-matchable answers. He was an awful panelist imo.
Canned fruit and vegetables were still popular... somehow... Del Monte had the most beautiful 4 color process, with 3 special colors labels. The inks used in the printing were brighter in color than the dingy looking products inside the cans...
Depending on who you asked they had one cocktail, except Richard for sure, at the dinner break to loosen them up a little but they were already a walking party sober.. Gene has said on the show he didn't drink because of a rotten liver but I don't know.. ;0) One staffer said they didn't serve cocktails at the dinner/lunch breaks at all..So who knows..
Seems like some tension on the set on this one; initially, the audience is very quiet, and the slight rivalry I noticed in the preceding episodes between Dawson and Amsterdam (on the former's part) seems even more apparent during the wedding vs bridal moment. Unrelatedly, all these lipstick-stained teeth in the Seventies. Yuck.
