I'll unbox the 14 cars from the first Power Grabs mix of 2021. Some really nice castings in this mix, including the new Plymouth Savoy and VW Golf GTI Polizei.
Sorry, Laz, I missed your comment until now. Yes, I often wonder what future generations will think about what we hold dear. I suspect they’ll like these as much as we like Lesney!
I’m daring enough to hope that Mattel are working harder on the Matchbox side their business. Would go ape if they bought out a Car Culture style line up.
Thanks, Eric. There is a lot to like in the 2021 MB mainline/Powergrabs collection. I’m guessing each wave will have two or three absolute killers. I’ll do my best to get hold of the whole set and post videos of them. 👍🇦🇺🙂
Loving your enthusiasm while you do this unboxing. It's infectious ! Cos usually you are more reserved in your commentary lol Really like the redesign of the power grabs boxes. Just the cars sans the background. Nice. The tissue paper is an improvement over the plastic bags but it's a shame those silly unsealable flaps remain. Great case.... That savoy definitely is the highlight , it's..just...so...cool , although I'm strangely attracted to the colour scheme of the 350z. The baby blue dodge pickup is also nice, definitely the best version of it so far, for me at least. And it's also good to see the return of the Porsche 914 P.S. Hope your pet kangaroo is doin fine after that nasty scare earlier! Poor lil Skip......
So much to get charged up about in this case! But yeah, the boxes are a problem for collectors. Skippy’s in therapy and early indications look promising 😂
Nice box, well worth buying this one, so many cool castings in it, Merry Christmas to you and your family all the best for 2021 Rgds KC Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺😎✌👊👍🇦🇺
I keep Matchbox Power Grabs in the box after I open them but I do wish Mattel would put flaps with tabs on the boxes so you could close them neatly again after opening them.
Great video. I like the national parks color scheme. What year did those other 2 come out in?Are they exclusive to Australia? Please let me know. Thanks. Chuy
Thanks, Chuy Gutz. Mattel release at least a couple of National Parks castings each year. There aren’t Australian exclusives. Check out MatchboxFandom.com for each year’s releases. 👍
It is a satisfying sound! It’s strange that some products are only released in certain places...you’d think Mattel would want to maximise availability of all they make.
@@buildingtheultimatematchbo257 It's probably because the people who do the ordering have no clue what a Power Grab is. Heck, the toy stockers don't even know what a matchbox car is. They look on their phone and point at a playset and ask if that's what I am looking for.
Hi, Tripper, you’re doing well to have found 40! So far in the 2021 season, there have been 63 cars released. You may be able to catch up with the earlier ones from private sellers online or local Matchbox community groups. Now might be a good time to join one if you haven’t already. I posted a video of the first box of ‘21 on December 26, 2020 so at least you’ll be able to see some of the castings you’re looking for. I’ll post a video of the 4th wave tonight. Happy hunting, my friend. 👍🦘
I promise to show more love for the Chow Mobile in the future although there might be another video that I’ve already filmed with one in it.🙄 There seems to be a widespread affection for the little fella.🙂
I am guessing the paper is pur in the boxes for environmental reasons. It is easy to recycle. As for the cars they are great. The winner for me is the plymouth savoy. It is a bit heavy on the mopar factoring two trucks and cars. That bugatti is my unicorn car but after getting used volvo p1800 in white as part of the christmas present made up for this other one. Some day for the bugatti maybe. They are other greats cars to make up for it. One note about the jeep. They state it as being a 1948 but it is the same casting on the 1943 version. Pulling an audi wagon on us.
Got to keep a close eye on Mattel, for sure. This mix still rates very highly for me all the same. Really good to see so many enjoying this video, it was a lot of fun to make.
That would be nice but they don't it's just pure greed people want to sell them online for 10 times what they're worth that's how it goes in the US I'm sure they do the same thing there
@@buildingtheultimatematchbo257 been collecting since 1975 it has gotten to the point of buying whole cases I really don't like to buy them that way because then I'm stuck the cars that I don't want or need however a trade here and there helps flea markets in yard sales also I've even donated a whole lot
