Great job, Fran. Love the romantic look of the Pinwheel quilt. I will now call myself a “collector” instead of “hoarder” for my obsession with fabrics!!
Fran, you truly are a gifted artist. In every case, you put the fabric submitted in a position that it received a place of importance that honored the request. Then two other fabrics, that worked so well with the first fabric, were brought together to create a fourth, totally unique and very beautiful finished look. Thank you, I just loved watching!
Hi Fran, you have a wonderful gift of matching fabric colors and patterns and then pairing them with the perfect quilt pattern. I love too that you explained how monochrome colors work in a pattern with lots of movement. You give such good tips. Thank you.
Loved the Pinwheel Party quilt with all the poka dots. The green poka dots in the #3 position really make the quilt pop. Thanks Fran for these amazing tips for fabric selection and how to position it in a quilt.
Excellent fabric choices once again 👏🎉. I really enjoy this series of fabric and pattern matching, Fran. Always interesting. Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
I always enjoy your fabric matching videos, Fran. Your insights have really helped retrain my mind to what supposedly "goes" together because your results look fabulous! Thank you so much for this series you do 😍
Goodness the cabbage fabric is amazing. I absolutely adore the fabrics and pattern you have chosen for it. I also love the caladium leaves fabric and contrasts you have chosen. Just gorgeous!
I just discovered your RU-vid show. I have really enjoyed it, how to match up my fabrics my sister got me into quilting she used to help me match my fabrics, she passed away three years ago from cancer. I'm glad I found the show now I can work on trying to match up what I have according to what you show thank you
Hi Cathy, so glad you found us! Matching fabric is something we love to do and we try and share as many ideas and tips to help inspire others! So sorry to hear of the loss of your sister, I hope you're able to match together your fabrics and make a beautiful quilt in her honor 😊
Lovely choice of fabrics. And the pattern is so simple, straight forward and stunning. After years of trying to quilt the stitch in the ditch method, I have also changed to wavy lines next to the ditch, or on top of the ditch. Works out much better for me, and any mistake is thought to be part of the wavy line. So I admire your choice of wavy line quilting. Thanks for such clear instructions.
Fran, your eye for color is amazing. I loved all those quilts but the polka dots from the customer were yummy. I collect all things basset hound which sadly are pretty rare. I like to make items for basset rescue auctions to make funds for needy hounds. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Wow, I learned so much today! Hearing you talk about the weight of the fabric and how to spread it around your quilt was enlightening. Monochromatic is another topic I enjoyed hearing you talk about. I think you could do a full show about that. Guess I'm asking for a show about it. I collect fabric of all kinds, pretty much. I love, love green and that's a big attraction for me! Thank you Fran.
I have 1 yd cuts I would love help with but if I cut off a foot to mail I am afraid I won’t have enough sew the suggested pattern. I love the combos Fran finds .
Hi Susan! No worries, you can send in your 1-yard piece of fabric and we will return it back to you after we match it. You won't have to cut it up at all 😊 Thanks for asking!
WOW Fran, I just love all your fabric choices and patterns....such a gift you have. I have a terrible time doing that. But I'm learning so much from you.
Fran, so glad you showed Rebecca’s cabbage fabric. I have that same piece and bought it because the colors caught my eye. Haven’t used it either. Will keep your suggestions for it. I collect strawberry fabrics; been collecting for 20 years. Hasn’t always been easy to find. I also look for it when I travel.
Your video today was so interesting, because you gave reasons for choosing the fabric that you did. Like on the polka dot fabric was really interesting for me to learn about. Especially, because I am just now getting into polka dot fabric. I loved this video, because it was like a teaching class on fabric's.
I always enjoy your Matchmaker videos, Fran. Today I was surprised to see that I have some of that green polka dot fabric in my stash. Thanks for the great ideas of how to use it!
I thought it was fun when you brought out that green polka dot fabric. I had bought some of that to use for our Project Linus Team, we loved it so much and found that it went with so many kids prints we had to go back and buy what they had left. Maybe the kid fabrics have more of those colors.
I think you hit it out of the park today! I was a bit skeptical of the first combo but the image was so pleasing to the eye. The other two were equally great. 👍🏻👍🏻😊
Hi Judy! It varies, but we do a bit of both. Sometimes we will use the same line for all three fabrics, and other times we will mix and match manufactures and lines if they work well together. 😊
Hi Lisa! We use Electric Quilt 8 for all of our renderings. However, we have many of our patterns on PreQuilt.com where you can place your own fabrics into the patterns to see what they will look like. You can find PreQuilt here - bit.ly/prequilt - they have a lot of helpful videos on PreQuilt too that you can search and watch. Hope it helps! 🥰
