Another great tune by a great band. This is from the "trum" TV-show, with Morgan Ågren on the drums, Mats Öberg on keyboards(standing up), Jimmy Ågren on guitar, Tommy Tordsson on bass, and Robert Elovsson on keyboards(sitting down).
Amazing how after almost 40 yrs of Playing and Listening to Various types of Music, I am just now hearing of this... Might I add, THIS IS AWESOME!!! Thank You for the Inspiration ☺️ There Definitely should be More Music like this In today's world... 💯❤️😎
It's from a Swedish TV show called Trum that aired about 10 years or so ago. If you search for "Morgan Ågren Trum" you should find full episodes here on RU-vid. It's mostly talking, drum lessons and record tips so not sure how useful that is if you don't speak Swedish, but every episode has one or more live performances.
Actually, the majority of the short episodes was always the live performances and some of the talking was Morgan showing vinyls from his favorite inspirations. All this though being an educational show at public service TV. But Morgan was free to fill it with whatever he liked to 😊
@@jonasthemovieWhen Fredrik Thordendahl wants to make a solo album he calls Morgan (and lets Haake do the voice) 😊 (LOVE Haake btw and Morgan couldn't do all he does as good - but Morgan is def more versatile!)
jakehawthorn *Definitely - "Defiantly" means something totally different (characterized by defiance; boldly resistant or challenging: a defiant attitude).
@@MrGul True, but I think both words were applicable here: a defiantly definite Nintendo boss-fight sound track! Or maybe I'm too happy my state legalized marijuana. Definitely one of the two...
Mats and Morgan play the music the teacher tells you not to, the silly noises that put a big fucking grin on your face and I love it. It's not popular stuff, it's not following a standard musical formula... they're just having a blast, I suspect they'd be at home doing it even if nobody else cared to listen.
To me these guys simply define "ahead of the curve". Just seems to me that scandinavians are always pushing it a step further... Just take bands like Meshuggah for example (or even The Cardigans hahahah) Excellent and inspiring! Thank you Mr Zappa would have been so proud!
Uckin' Fey. Most excellent. Am just now discovering this ensemble of incredible talent, where have I been all my life? Here Now, near how, Hear Now, brown cow.
I get shivers down my spine every time I hear this. Mats' style is insane and he's hilarious to watch. Lifting up his shirt during the scream, rofl. And Morgan Agren blows my mind as well. So intense I just want to close the damn video! But it's too good!
It no miracle to me that Frank Zappa liked these musicians : ) The drummer is now officailly my second Favorite drummer in the world my Fav. is still Marco Minnemann
interesting. I can't get into MM. Seems like a great guy... but for some reason I just can't enjoy his drumming no matter what. Weird. I like Thomas Lang's more avant drumming... (he does stuff no other drummer ever did) (wish he was less mechanical though) and Benny Greb's delicious dynamics. Gavin Harrison (currently in King Crimson) was my fave for a bit but he's too much brain. I need BRAINS... plus PASSION.
another of my FAVE new drummers is a dude from Montreal noise duo (casio and drums!) called LAZOR BLADE. don't know his name, but he's a fantastic balance of "shambling" and "tight as hell"!
@@dumpygoodness4086 Dave King (The Bad Plus); Nate Wood; Brian Blade (from the sublime to the volcanic in 1ms); Kenwood Dennard; Jeff Hamilton; Chris Coleman; the original drummer for Anglagard (don't remember his name); Joey Baron; André Ceccarelli; Kendrick Scott; are some
What an incredible performance. Now would somebody rip it, synch the audio and re-post? Please! I would do it, but I'm stupid. I only know how to complain. But seriously, excellent post. Love it. Thanks.
Actually, the CD You are referring to is recorded at Club Fasching (which is GREAT!). This is from the TV-show called "Trum", which can be found on the CD "On Air With Guests".
Yeah for a good example in the prog metal sphere go listen to both “Adenosine Breakdown” and “Adenosine Buildup” by Blotted Science off the “Machination of Dementia” album
@@The_Kevinist You're right. And there's also irony in his work, but people seems to not comprehend that. Does humor belongs in music? Same for english band Cardiacs. Do you know them? They can be mental as anything on the planet but still be fun and, in the end, great to listen to
So music hasn't stopped progressing past the nineties... Love it!!! By the way, I am hearing things, or is the melody from their other tune Baader Puff creeping in from 2:47 - 3:00??
Well, your nickname tells me all I need to know, so all I'm going to say is that I find it very catchy and thoroughly enjoyable. Return to the gloomy pit from whence you came and never return!
@Flemmingdoerken And it's even cooler when they go back to the theme they started with. This happens at 6:54. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thing thats kindof misleading about this music is that to play this stuff you are nowhere close to drugs. These gentlemen dedicate their lives to their craft and it's not for people who like their music spoonfed to them either. Look at Zappa for instance, while he was in europe these guys jammed with him. Zappa dont give just anyone that kind of credit. Not for everyone but damn I love it!!
@JensClaesson By that logic I could ask you why anyone would count in quarter notes instead of 2nd notes: Because it's not the same thing. If 8/8 is the same as 4/4, then it's also the same thing as 2/2 and even 1/1, but you don't count or play it like that. How would you play something in a crazy time signature like 15/16 or 29/32 if you're only counting quarter notes?
