I just discovered Matt a couple of weeks ago, and I am addicted. His voice, his presence, his everything - that soul, that passion for music, - wow... he's so amazing and I hope to see him live one day, that would be the ultimate dream come true!
happy i saw him live in concert here in The Netherlands! hurry back Matt i like your music even more then all those great one night stands together! Matt you are really the best!
That sounds exactly like what happened here in T.O. this afternoon. After Matt was called out for a second bow after this song, Stuart remarked, "I don't know what to say after that, except that I'm sure, as the show goes on, he'll warm up a little and be ready to give it his all." :) Convocation Hall is probably still shuddering from the standing ovation following 'O Holy Night.' What a breathtaking talent this man is.
Matt is one of my very favourites; such power and soul. I heard him at Burnaby Blues Fest and at the Royal Theatre in Victoria. He filled the hall completely with his music, his voice and instrument touching every rafter and every nerve. Looking forward to seeing him again soon in Nanaimo.
We saw his first ever concert at Massey Hall a few years ago. I had goosebumps many times. It was just him, his guitar and that voice and he had the entire audience in the palm of his hand. A brilliant performer.
I was there live and it was powerful to hear for the first time. It a 50th birthday for a lady I was with at the time. It became our song. Funny because I did have to leave so this song became true to us both. Yep our song crazy. Wonderful with Stewart Mclean and the stories plus this side kick with Matt Anderson. Two thumbs up!!!
@@techy72 I don't know bud, I just think that there are people out there that are beyond help. Their sole mission in life is to hate beyond criticism or reason. I think you did a good job and whatever the vid is lacking Anderson makes up for. Keep at it bro!
This guy had me wiping my eyes with his performance at the International Blues Competition in Memphis (IBC) and HE WON FIRST PLACE in the solo/duo acts. I wiped my eyes at his performance-he received a standing ovation at the Orpheum Theater. I'm so proud to be Canadian!! Had he not won, I would have written off the IBC forever but, this event has proven to be THE place to discover real talent. Matt deserved to be there and be discovered! I love the IBC and I found a new love - Matt Andersen...
Saw him in Calgary with Stuart McLean. Again he just absolutely blew everyone away. I honestly felt bad for the other musicians cause none of them got close to the reaction he got. Amazing!
whew......i usually have a 3 minute attention span when it comes to a song......but whewww...kept my attention right here til the very end.......he really is so incredible!
This is the Vinyl Cafe episode I heard on the radio at work that got me to check out Matt Andersen's performance here in Moncton. When I heard it I found it so incredible I just had to see his show.
I saw this show in Fredericton 3rd row center and he blew us away. He sure can bellow out this song when he is standing. Would anyone out there have video of that show. I am always so proud to be Canadian,,but hearing how Matt is doing around the world makes it even sweeter.
I saw Matt perform this at Stuart Maclean's Vinyl Cafe Christmas Concert at Convocation Hall in the holiday season of 2009. I could feel his emotion in my heart as he played. I was extremely pleased to see Matt perform with Stuart again this year. Amazing.
I don't even like "O Holy Night" and this guy blew me away at the National Arts Centre last night. Loved his duet with his mum. And this song. Whew. Thanks for posting it.
i only heard of this guy the other from a friend who seen him live, wow is all i can say, i hope i get to see him live, amazing voice, come to newfoundland
I love My S2 IS it has captured many years of great memories and yes it records almost as well as it takes stills. Oh YA WoW this voice is so needed in this pop driven wreck of a music industry.
I saw Matt last night in Saskatoon. With his first song, I was blown away by his voice. He received a standing ovation for that song. But when he began to sing O Holy Night, I started crying (and I was in the front row)...the power of his voice combined with the words was definitely a magical moment. Wow. Please please please post a video of his O Holy night performance if you can do so. I wouldn't mind reliving that moment over again :-)
I understand that trolls exist...I get that some folk are just assholes.....but...how can any soul,in or out of their right mind dislike this? Maybe soul, or the lack thereof is at the heart of it.
Kerry - your negatively and sense of entitlement is truly astounding in your comments of Matt's videos. You may appreciate his music, but you obviously do not "get" who he is as a person. He is about humbleness and gratitude and positivity. Hopefully you will allow his music to truly affect you one day...
saw him do this last night in vancouver - same show with stuart mclean - tore the house down - i like it when he stands up to play - good sound quality on this video - good image quality too- would have maybe shot more of it with a tighter frame - good job though - steady hand
