So many times she catches herself and says “I was so attracted to you” “I always wanted to be with you” “Those were the good times.” And then tries to recover and brings it back to “now.”

When she told me she was stressed I didn’t believe her until she had a watch to show me she was telling the truth 🥴 WOW 😳 speaks volumes in how much he respects her opinions and feelings

I really feel for Abby. I think she is the main reason their son’s face doesn’t get shown anymore. If Matt had his way, their children would be their main content. Also, pregnancy emotions can be really ridiculous and honestly embarrassing. The fact that millions of people have seen her sobbing and high on pain meds and clearly distressed is really sad, especially after hearing how much she hates it. He has made her the butt of their jokes and painted her as emotionally unstable and ditzy, I can’t stand it. I hope as she grows and matures, she’ll feel comfortable standing up for her own opinions and views.

I wonder if Abby is realising how lonely it feels to be content for Matt, and comprehending that’s how their children are going to feel.

Matt dropped out of college because they hit it big on social media. Abby graduated and has a college degree. She has something to fall back on but he doesn’t.

The best thing about this video for me is 1. Regardless of your previous feeling towards Abby, you are man enough to admit when you agree with her and you could see her vulnerability, more so than her own husband. And 2. Admitting you were wrong and your wife was right 😂 Some people seriously can’t agree with people they don’t like or can’t admit when they’re wrong. This shows me the type of person you are

The fact that he needed a watch to confirm her stress and assumed she was making it up tells a lot about their relationship. Matt is at best neglectful, if not downright abusive. That’s some serious gaslighting to deny someone else’s emotions.

Did Matt seriously say/imply that he thought Abby was faking being stressed out sometimes and he didn’t believe her until the watch started showing her vitals and “proving” it?

I hope that Matt both listens and hears her bc she's pleading to him here. She's being as brutally honest and transparent as possible without saying I don't want to do this anymore. His response to her stress levels being constantly elevated while pregnant, her crying, and saying she doesn't enjoy making content was to take a deep breath?! Oh, Boy!! I'd have turned the camera off right then and there. He's a dunce. If he doesn't wake up now and see the writing on the wall, then that beautiful family picture she described will not be. I watch their podcasts from time to time. I feel bad for Abby. I think she is naturally an emotional person. However, her crying through the whole thing was so sad. I want to give her a hug. 😢

I honestly feel like it’s totally possible that Abby isn’t fully choosing money over her children’s safety and well being but choosing Matt. She quite possibly believes that he’d resent her if she decided to go against this which would then probably lead to the downfall of their marriage. Which in some ways shows she isn’t ready for children if she isn’t willing to go to bat for them.

He’s so annoyingly fake and uncaring about her feelings! He’s only worried about finishing the “ interview”. He’s the MOST insincere!

Recently watched a therapist talk about how if you ask a partner, in a relationship with a narcissist, why do you love them? They almost always say they don’t know what it is. It’s “something special” or “it just makes sense”. This is the vibes I get from Abby in her response to why she married him 🙃

I’m sorry one more thing… he said he thought she was lying and it took a watch to make him believe her. I’m actually starting to see an mentally abusive very controlling relationship. Imagine you as a wife or significant other saying I’m stressed and have anxiety and then being like your lying. How helpless would you feel? Then you get a fn watch and then he believes that over what your saying. Someone who you should feel safe and loved how manipulative.

I recognize pregnancy emotions when I see them. While pregnant, I once cried because there was a green jelly bean on my kitchen floor that I silently and repeatedly protested bending down to pickup for a whole day. 🤦 I don't like jelly beans or these people, but I'll give her a pass today. That guy is exploiting her. Their poor children! I hope she gets out of this.

You can also tell Matt never wanted babies. He always bringing up the past and how it was “better.” The past , the past, the past.. that’s all he ever talks about. He never talks about his children and the beautiful life they live now, so odd and very selfish.

She is giving him what he wants which is really sad bc she clearly isn’t happy. This life isn’t for her and I don’t blame her. Just because he’s the leader doesn’t mean he should be pushing his wife and children into something just so he can be lazy. A real leader would honor his wife and not make it all about what he wants. He legit acts like he doesn’t know her.

Even his attempt to ask his wife if she’s ok is completely manufactured and fake. ew, Matt. Gross.

Abby has always tried to fight against Matt. When she had their first child she specifically said that she didn’t want the birth video on the internet and he pressured her into it. Matt is AWFUL and only cares about the views and money. I see divorce in their future if he can’t start listening to her and respecting her.

When you said that stuff about the son looking for you in the crowd after doing something hes so proud of. Hit me hard. I just remember my sons first school concert. He was looking so hard for me, daddy and his mamaw and the look on his face because he didn't see us right away absolutely BROKE my heart... and as soon as he saw us, his entire expression changed. The happiness and confidence took over. I would literally not miss those moments for anything. I even put my phone away and dont take videos because I want to live in the moment. Our first family vacation we took, I have maybe one picture. Everything else I have, is in my memory. Live in the moment people! It's the best! ❤

I would love to be a fly on the wall behind the scenes because Matt always is posting videos being soooo sweet and talking Abby up and always complimenting her but I can only imagine they probably fight a lot about Abby not wanting to do this and asking Matt to not make her do it

If Abby told Matt no more vlogging or I'll take the kids and leave, I really think Matt would still have a problem putting the camera down

My therapist talks about marriage as a bubble. It’s the two of you, and that has to come first always. It’s your sanctuary. It sounds like Matt is letting content creation get into the bubble and it’s affecting Abby, and it will affect their relationship if they don’t get it out of there. You gotta protect the integrity of the bubble, man

You're so right about finding someone that makes you LAUGH! it is so important. My husband and I have been together almost 5 years and we still find ourselves laughing to the point of tears. It's honestly so great.

I really feel like she deserves better. He’s ruining her ideal dreams of being a mom and having a family because of the cameras.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Abby at first. But I appreciate her honesty. Also her saying "we're not going to have a pity party over the life of an influencer." That's something I wish I saw more influencers say. Instead of complaining about their comparatively easy "jobs" to the people who work real world jobs.

She will have a breakdown/marriage implosion after this baby is born. She is already showing how stressed she is and once that baby is born taking care of them will be her life 24/7. Matt will be focused on content and not understand how much of a toll caring for two small babies takes on your mental and physical health. There is no way these influencers have such big families and make content in a healthy way, it's not possible to do both. Either they have nannies and not taking care of their kids or literally on camera 24/7 living their lives through a camera like Alusha and Jess.

I have a feeling she’s slowly just going to keep pulling back and not be in content so much. It’s obvious it’s not her passion, she doesn’t like everything being turned into content, but either is feeling insecure or is being a people pleaser and doing it for Matt. As a people pleaser, I heard so much of my old self in the way she would dismiss things or say that it’s hard “but” she’s thankful. And if she loves baking or doing little shopping hauls then why aren’t they creating that content? If it would bring her more joy why isn’t Matt stepping aside and letting her try that?

The fact that he needs a watch to believe that his PREGNANT wife is “actually” stressed is toxic.

I remember being hurt when I would see my dad on a phone call during my soccer games. The idea of a father clogging himself talking with his back turned to the field, makes me so sad.

This DCP episode has such an important message, not only for vloggers, but parents and future parents. As a photographer and a full time nanny, I have experienced the distancing that children start to display after always having a camera in their face. I am fortunate enough to still have time to change this with my own children (from a future momma). These photos are for memories for the parents and not to post online for cash. However, I still feel guilt for not being truly present with these children that I have bonded so closely with, as I am usually with these families for years of their lives. Again, I want to emphasize how thankful I am that I am learning this before having my own kids. Thank you, Josh, for helping me to have this realization before it’s too late.

This marriage unfortunately will not stand the test of time. She doesn’t seem to like him honestly. She’s constantly annoyed by him. Is clearly much more mentally aware and smarter than him. This is another couple married too young who are now growing in separate directions and changing into different people.

Next, Him noticing her watch said shes stressed, calling her honey and then saying lets take some deep breaths was the cringiest fucking thing! I felt like it was all for the camera. It seemed SO awkward!

I don't think their marriage will last because of how controlling matt is. I honesty think once after having her second child and after she has healed. If I were in her shoes. I would take the kids and run. Matt is showing no sympathy towards his wife. This is just my theory but I believe he got her pregnant again on purpose. So that he can trap her. Just my thoughts.

Hi Josh. I have to say, this was quite a refreshing video. I think the fact that you highlighted some positives aspects and addressing details in a more positive light - not just bashing them (Abby more than Matt) makes it more enjoyable to watch. At the end of the day, they are also human beings, so it definitely makes a difference when you don't solely make the video pessimistic.

I really really like her. She's genuine and she's young. The accidental pregnancy on such a young mom has been hard to watch. She also has a degree and finished her schooling - she could always fall back on that.

She’s really stumbling about why she’s attracted to him. She also talks in the past about how he WAS her best friend. Weird.

I feel that this is all his making her do this and she genuinely wants to quit, but he won't let her. If she quits, he has to stop doing this too and he does not want that at all. She's definitely trapped in this, at least that is what I am seeing.

Josh - this was such a good video! You had me laughing my head off. It unfortunately makes me so sad to see this intelligent young woman, trapped and ignored by her husband. Abby isn’t necessarily for me but she deserves so much more than her husband is giving her.

I’m sad you skipped from minute 3 to 8, she basically said she would love to be a homemaker and he then goes to question her and say “oh so that’s what you’d want to do?” Basically saying she should be doing something to make money.

I will say this about them, they’ve completely stopped showing griffin’s face in their videos. Even when they did, their child was never the star of all of their vlogs and social media postings and for that I can respect them. Their videos never revolves around the child solely. Parenting, maybe for a few videos, but not exploiting their child. This interview also made me like Abby a lot too, I agree with you.

I'm not an emotional person but I cried a lot at the end of pregnancy. I remember being really tired all the time and wanted everyone to leave me alone. It does seem like Matt is constantly pressuring her to do this all the time. They never have videos of Matt crying on the couch.

Poor Abby ☹️ my empathy for family vloggers is close to none man, it is so evident that she feels stuck. It strikes me how seemingly unaffected Matt was by her overwhelming expression - through both words and body language - of the pressure and discomfort she feels from filming their life as their job. I'm sure he loves her but he is so clearly in denial about how taxing this lifestyle is on their family, despite Abby trying to tell him... 🙁

The entire episode he just seems to be looking at her like WTF and treats her like she’s so stupid. And hormonal. Which yes, she is, but it’s sooooooo much more intense because she knows deep down that she hates what they’re doing. She just hasn’t fully realized it yet.

they literally seem like co-workers, who live together but hate each other and have nothing in common who are forced into talking to each other. (i use co-worker super lightly.) it also seems odd, that her watch is warning her when she’s talking about the stuff she doesn’t really seem to like about their dynamic and such. this feels like a jab to him the entire time she’s talking.

Matt really set Abbey up here. He is acting like he is trying to audition as a television interviewer. I thought that having Abbey’s parents move in with them was a very immature move, but I am actually glad now. Her parents will see what he is doing and how it is affecting their daughter. As you said, her body language, everything is screaming she doesn't want to be here, Matt doesn't see that? and her first answer of WHY she's "grateful" for this job translates more as to why tolerates it and continues to do it. Feels stuck? As though there is no other option in life that would provide for her to be home with her son(s)....

My take is that their life style is what is putting the most pressure on Abby. They have this big house and cars they don’t own yet and two young children. I think Abby is ready to stop their channel, like yesterday. But if they quit this and got “normal jobs” they’d have to give up all their nice things, both get jobs, and put their children into childcare. My sense is she feels she has to choose the lesser of two things she would hate and chooses the one with the money. So I bet they’ll keep going until they have enough money to own everything and live in luxury for the rest of their lives and then Abby will put her foot down and just say this is enough.

Abby, IF you really want to quit family vlogging, punch Matt against the wall! Give the options - either quit vlogging or divorce. You will manage with the children with the money you have already acquired, you will get half of it. Don't let someone else take your health, your children's well-being!

Their relationship seems so unbalanced. She seems like she's growing for the better, maturing very well. But he just, doesn't understand the boundaries or anything it feels like. I feel bad for her. :( Hopefully she gets what she needs eventually. It feels like he's taking advantage of his wife being a cute, likable (even annoying) girl. I don't know.

It sounds to me like she is already checked out of their marriage. Her words about how he was this and was that are a subconscious way of admitting that she isn’t happy. It’s going to be a miserable marriage for her and I’m pretty sure she isn’t going to divorce him, but she must think about it. She seems so unhappy, the poor girl.

Watching Abby is like seeing a stepford wife slowly wake up I feel bad she got bamboozled by matt I hope she's able to set limits and not have more babies as she's said she doesn't want to and leave the relationship if necessary she needs a man whose gonna provide for those kids not a narcissistic child.
