Kompany played in World Cup and UCL semi-finals for Belgium and City. He won the PL four times. Bayern is run by-ex-players and they would be impressed by his playing resume. Potter was inexperienced which is why Chelsea fired him. At big clubs, you have to win trophies. This inexperienced head coach won't get a lot of support but will be expected to reach top 4. This could be a disaster.
@kayceee6770

The same style of candidates means they are honing in upon the similar coach/manager like many European clubs run under including Barca. Following a method of play and ideals, with hints of their own. Poch was not reaching the merits they expect with their reasoning. They backed him to the end of season where they did not reach a good enough conclusion in the end of season review they agreed to follow. The fans wanted a manager to be stuck with till the end of the season, something they kept, but just like in the early years under Roman they let a coach go who they didn't see eye to eye. I don't believe the club want a puppet coach, but there are things they want to see or have implemented. If the club has declare x player is to be sold, love it or hate it the coach has to manage around the fact. What I don't understand is why did Poch join if they would have told him their remit, but after finishing below the starting target, believes he needs more control under a 2 year contract or an extension. It was clear as day he's the stop gap coach where they would seek an improvement on the coaching side. I don't doubt the club want to back a coach/manager, but they are running the club as they see fit with the standards they believe need to be withheld. If the players don't like the parting, well it is what it is, they are players and will need to get used to the movement of coaches like they most likely would have seen in clubs they came for- for reasons understood or not.

As a black man this podcast has helped me understand racism much better. 😂😂 Listening to a guy with an American accent talking about football is so hard. 😂😂 And these guys are so passionate and erudite once you get over the accent and some linguistic variations (shut out instead of clean sheet etc) this is probably the best Chelsea focused podcast out there. Better than Straight Out of Cobham which feels like the guys are bored and do it to fulfill their contracts.

@@drunkinclam100I used to love that podcast. Brilliant without necessarily being overly concerned with technical details etc (focused on the "feeling" of following Chelsea) but they lost me during the Sarri days when there was a clear divide between fans who had heard about what he did with Napoli and wanted him to be given time to replicate it at Chelsea and those who couldn't feel any progress under him and wanted rid. Both very legitimate opinions in my book but they got caught up in the insults and basically derided fans like myself who support the club from abroad (I lived long enough in England to have attended a few games at the Bridge but don't think it makes me a superior fan). It just got so toxic that I gave up on it. I'll try and check it out again it really was a staple before those days n

I’m not sure a puppet manager has ever won anything at least in the UK but that’s what the ownership want. It’s bizarre and clearly Poch was relieved to go when the ownership told him he would have very little say on players etc in and out. The club needs stability and that’s not going to happen. Let’s hope we don’t do a Watford.

Public opinion changes in matter of weeks so I would not give a damn about public opinion. I would bring Maresca or Amorim. I am going toward Maresca IF anybody pay over 50 for Conor, sell immediately. Conor is more suitable for clubs that have less possession and they want their AM to press rather than be creative.

This saga feels like the ownership is trying to bring in an American style metric system based decision making to football. They are hoping that it will revolutionize English football the way it was implemented in Major American sports. It explains the club’s decision to hire a set piece coach and dedicate an entire department for it. These metric based calculations won’t take us too far if the calibre and mentality of both players and management are not up to Chelsea’s standards. The ownership’s prediction system has ignored the intangibles of professional sports in entirety. Pochettino picked up our mess from last season and made sure we finished in a strong position while never throwing the players under the bus. That shows character and dedication towards the squad and the club. It feels like the club is taking decisions based on analytical predictions for the future and not with the situation that’s in front of them. The American sporting model where there are no continental competitions or possibility of relegation allows teams to just stick to their projects and hope to win at point in the future with a rebuild. That model does not work in English football where both domestic and European competitions pose tremendous challenges. The ownership has handicapped the club to compete based on statistics and just hope to win in the future rather than focus on winning today. That level of complacency will turn the club from a top 4 competitor to just another team counting their stars for making it to the conference league once or twice in a few seasons.

Board knows what they are doing, ruining our club! We want stability more than anything... Poch could have provided that in next season after what we did in the 2nd half of last season. Mad decision and now new manager means new style of play, more adjusting to do, more matches to lose... Their "PROJECT" is gonna be the shitstorm which makes our days bad. Remember the feeling when we won 4-3 with ManU, 4-4 with City and that JOY was so surreal. Bad games from Chelsea makes my day, whole week go to shit afterwards. 🙄

I’m sorry but the crocodile tears from chelsea online fanbase and creators is really getting on my nerves. Conservatively, 75% of chelsea RU-vidrs and podcasters were if not poch out then poch skeptics for most of the season - and that started early. Then we get some consistency and the club do what all these guys have wanted all season and suddenly they are bereft at the lack of direction from the club. At no point was I poch out and I’m upset he’s gone. Although I disagree with him I retain respect for carefreelewis because at least he is happy now having wanted poch gone. However, the vast majority of the poch out/poch skeptic crowd are suddenly upset with the decision too! This fanbase has to come to grips with what it wants before it turns it’s attentions to the powers that be. I’ve heard talk of demonstrations and strikes! What exactly would the strike be about? Against the decision to sack the manager? Against the new manager appointment (though there isn’t one yet so that’s ludicrous on its face)? A strike in favour of the guy that never got better than a lukewarm response from the fans. Amazing. I’m almost certain that if you polled the fanbase right now, the only idea for what we want that would be universal is “trophies and success”. Well that’s useful. We all want that - literally goes without saying. Ultimately though, that’s a result, not a process. You can’t control the result - not the fans, not the players, not the manager, not the owners, not the club. All you can do is make decisions and take actions that you think will give you the best chance to achieve those results. So what actions and process do we want as fans? I’ve heard everything from “the only way the board get us back on board is bringing tuchel back”, mourinho back, should’ve kept poch, Ruben Amorim, McKenna… I hear “we want style of play” but in the next breath “but the results is what matters” - well which is it? There is zero point lamenting the owners when a very vocal and visible part of the fanbase was calling for poch’s head in September. You don’t think this stuff seeps through to some degree? Even the London is blue guys on yesterdays pod were completely divided as to whether the new manager will be given any patience by the fans. Can’t remember who said what but one said “this is on the board and the fans won’t blame the manager - it’s a free hit” whilst the other said that given poch’s upturn in results and that it will be a less experienced replacement, the fans will expect our performances to be better immediately or it was a failure. There will be no stability from the owners unless there is stability amongst the fanbase. They will sack the next guy too if the fanbase kicks off and wants him gone because he plays colwill at leftback for a while (a criticism of poch I still hear trotted out even today)
@SW6Blue67

@goldboy150
@goldboy150 Месяц назад
@@SW6Blue67 yeah but you even heard it from Matt Law here. Part of the thinking from the club was that given the feeling from the fanbase against the manager during the season, the club didn’t think it could ignore that again if the fanbase kicked off at poch early into the new season. Like it or not, this is the time to change manager, not in October. There needs to be a paradigm shift amongst the fanbase because we’ve still got an abramovich mindset in a Boehly/clear lake world. Abramovich didn’t care if the fans liked a manager, it was his show and if he didn’t think you did a good job out you go. These guys are very PR conscious and they have so far been unable to rise above the fanbase kicking off.
@goldboy150
