Proud to be a Slovak. Congrats to England. Slovakia left their hearts and soul on the pitch and pushed England till the end. We had nothing more to give. We went to the max.
"The tactical foresight of Southgate today was like the Titanic was sinking, and instead of getting the life boats, he's rearranging the deck chairs." 💀
@@hemutitu1870deservedly, we’ve been sht and Southgate refuses to make any changes. Gordon has only seen a minute of football in the euros, despite being the only actual LW in the squad
The fact that England won and didn't lose, gives pizza hut guy a possibility of not being fired post tournament review. Knock on effect huge, nation pissed off by the pathetic state of play. Compare semi finals 96 to this year, kids in the 90's proud to be gazza, shearer, sheringham, etc...kids gonna be on the park pretending to be mainoo, rice and galagher? Too much to take...Southgate needs to go before the Swiss game, put Jurgen in charge for 1 match or more.
No point playing Foden. I don't know why we need 3 creators on the pitch in Mainoo, Bellingham and Foden. 2 is enough. The wingers should be pacy and direct. Gordon and Saka.
I think the main problems from all of the matches so far was the wingers were too far forward. If they flocked the midfield like Slovakia did, the CBs do not have anyone to pass too. They were saved by Palmer and Eze who often dropped back to help build the play, so whoever played the wings should play like that. They can't play hollywood balls from Pickford the whole 90 minutes. Also please don't play Foden at wing, that's not his position.
The best play England put together was the quick attack for the offside goal, a couple of expansive passes opened up the defense and create a chance and they never created another chance like it. The double pivot has been dreadful and I feel like Southgate is going to walk away from this results going *"well that worked no need to change anything".*
Absolutely spot on,it’s unbelievable really how this manager cannot see what everyone else can see,it looks like he’s simply just picking the best players on reputation alone and then just sending them out their and hoping for the best, very similar actually to Sven.
@@ezeztztzIt's even more fundamental than that. He screwed himself over by waiting until the 80th - 90th minute (barring palmer sub) to make changes. It's like he's frightened of upsetting certain players or disturbing some kind of balance, even when it's clear that the team on the pitch aren't working. A manager that's scared of subbing his players off and rotating the squad is no manager at all.
What was his managerial carrer? Success? He took a team that never achieved anything since 1966, and actually got them to 4th place in the World Cup and 2nd place in Euro. Those are not victories, but you all act like England won every single title around since 1966.
Exactly, don’t want to see any calls for him to be dropped. He was Englands best forward player of the bunch that started the game, and so versatile. The Palmer hype is silly, he came on and lost the ball 8 times without doing anything.
And he's played mountains of football all season, he's running on fumes now but Southgate is going to flog him to death. I'm worried Saka picks up an injury.
Agreed, not like England can even attack or counter. Back and sideways are they only game they play. Hell, saw more backwards passes in these England games than you see in a game of rugby
Agreed. My fear is he thinks the result today vindicates his choices. The post game interview seems to confirm this. Not a single suggestion that he sees his mistake
Mark, that moment when the camera went to the sidelines and you saw 3 England players and interpreted it as Southgate making 3 subs only to realise he was just handing them water was the highlight of the game for me. Absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the laughs. 😆👍
@@jaegerwhatifs4679 Then Slovakian players shouldn't of been pretending to be suffering from leg cramps. Funny their cramps healed after the second England goal? 😂
@@harrywatson2694His plan was to have their first shot on target being a goal in the 95th minute from an overhead kick of all things against Slovakia of all teams? 🤣🤣🤣
I meen over the whole course of the game I would say we did, we controlled the majority of the game, it wasn't pretty and against a top team we would of been in big trouble, still 1 shot on target in 90 mins is a terrible state against a team like Slovakia
Bellingam should've been sent off. A clear second yellow card on the dive he made in the box. If the refs did their job properly, England would've been home now. Just keep in mind how lenient the refs have been. The game for England could've easily went south...gate? :)))
@@darkwillow1451 Was a foul but ref decided it was not enough to give a pen, no dive. He also got the ball on the first yellow so arguably should not have been given. Juraj Kucka on other hand, already on a yellow, made multiple more fouls including a clear yellow card offense and should have gone.
Kyle Walker and Keiran Trippier might be the worst 2 fullbacks in this competition. They have been nothing short of disgraceful. Walkers playing centre back and has as much attacking intention of gandhi and Trippier trying his best pirate impression with only having one leg and never beating anyone.
@@sebbepvp1207 I bet his country has won more trophies in the past two decades than England has in their entire history. England should just stick to cricket.
While he may not be the best manager, he literally is the most successful manager for England since 1966. Yes, England did nothing since 1966. It's not like Southgate stopped them from winning titles.
Southgate didn't change anything, we did nothing all game. Hadn't had a single shot on target the whole game and he changes absolutely nothing. We got extremely lucky, I still have zero faith that we'll make it to the final. It was painful to watch.
It is getting to a point where I believe Southgate's treatment of Gordon is personal. He is arrogant in the extreme and it appears the more everyone clamours for Gordon to play the more Southgate refuses to do it.
He put Toney on with 2 minutes left. Literally wasted some of the last minutes we had. Got so lucky. Saka was right wing, left back, and then was stood in right back position towards the end. It’s such a mess. I honestly thought he was trolling us at times. Genuinely.
This. Sabotage, stubbornness, wilful incompetence. No apparent strategy when he has so many options at his disposal. Infuriating. The post-match interviews feel like total gaslighting.
The spineless pundits on TV have gone from "that was dreadful" to "well credit to them, they won" . A performance doesn't change in level just because of the result
They scored two goals. 1 very close offside. Hit the post. And they won the game. Not convincingly no but they won and any neutral viewer would say England were still better. The rest is when they face a half decent team. Maybe they'll wake up when it matters.
@@kevtb874 So if you paid builders to build a wall and they used Weetabix instead of Mortar would you say.. well they finished the wall so they did fine
We aren’t gonna be better against SW because Southgate still doesn’t think we are playing crap- still doesn’t see it’s all his fault. Stinking football. Brings on Toney with two mins to go and thinks the result vindicates him. 😠
I’m actually terrified than Dan ashworth is that close to Southgate. If he thinks Southgate is a manager you have to wonder if he understands football at all.
People talking about “Southgate/Kane silenced all of you” know nothing about football A result doesn’t make up for the shocking 94 minutes we all had to witness
Sadly, because they scored GS will persist with Kane and Bellingham, who apart from the goals were almost anomynous, Kane cannot play that lone striker role, he simply offers no runs to drag defenders about. The Swiss looked extremely well drilled and organised and if GS persists in the slow build up it will be another 90 mins of no shots, England could no worse than trying a little chaos, by playing Gordon and Palmer and using Watkins or Tonie in the middle. We need energy and the will to be willing to press other teams
Having watched England not play for the last 3 games I don't know how anybody can look at our opponents whoever they are and say "easy draw for England" with a straight face.
But it was a straightforward win. Didn't even go to penalties. England scored twice and the losing team only once. How much more straightforward can it be?
You cannot win games playing in your own half ,practically standing on the edge of your 18 yard box!! . The only reason we get as far in these competitions is because the luck of our draws for the last few years we have had easy groups to progress, its our fitness that has won england their games ,the opposition simply run out of steam in the 89th minute and we score to win, shocking football the whole fa should resign
We have world class players and a poor coach, other teams have poorer players but far superior coaches bringing the teams together tactically, technically, cohesively and squeezing every last ounce of ability out of their players
The answer is oblivious. It has to be moving Foden centrally to play alongside Bellingham to effectively utilise both of them and play a proper left winger like Gordon on the left to not only give us some attacking strength on the left but also take some pressure off of Saka so he can become more devastating. Additionally, start Trent at right back to add much needed creativity. He would be devastating alongside Saka and can provide support for Rice. Walker can come off the bench for added stability. This is how to get this golden generation firing but Southgate refuses to listen
Southgate is gone at the end of this tournament so we at least have something to cheer. Short of winning it I can't see why the FA would offer him another contract, and we're not winning anything playing garethball.
@@billcosbyjr9609he’s just pointing out the clear toxic siding. He hates Southgate he loves ETH they play the same way. Barely score goals and when they do it’s either moments fc or a shambles from the other team. The coaches are the same but mark reacts different. Even when England win and United lose he’s still against Southgate and for ten hag. That’s his point
@@colet8940bro you don’t know football. ETH dominated Netherlands and the Eredivisie and almost won a UCL. Its not the same. United don’t have depth and players don’t listen. Southgate is vibes FC. It would be better to compare Southgate to Ole. ETH at least wins trophies. Its not the same.
What’s with those hand signals toward the crowd though from Bellingham, like they haven’t played dreadful and wernt 80 seconds away from going out to Slovakia, while not having a shot on target the whole game. What a pisser
So they clawed their way out being kicked out the tournament, scored a winning goal, won the game, got through to the quarter finals but why should that get in the wqy of a good moan. England were 2 minutes from being out. Count your lucky stars the players had faith when their supporters didn't.
Still, it was a brilliant move to play Toney with 1 minute of play left. What a brilliant tactician Southgate is. Let’s all hope he extends his contract for another 5 years
KOBBINO did very well when you consider his age and lack of experience at this level, but his class shone through and he looked the most effective of all the team, which is very impressive.
Why is everyone shocked this is deja vu with every tournament Southgate has managed with England. He plays negative crap he scrapes wins and lands the easiest route through then always fails. If only he could get the players in to watch that tomorrow but he would be contravening the Geneva convention cruel and unusual punishment.
No offense but if England are going to play that way against Switzerland you are not the favourites, not by a longshot. The Swiss have a drive to win, England are beyond lucky to have survived that game against Slovakia.
I mean, just look at Spain tonight… admittedly it’s only Georgia but their football is so fluid and attacking. Southgate just seems like he’s given up 🫣
Only Georgia...they were fantastic, have a deadly counter attack and some very gifted players. That Georgia team would beat England the way they are playing.
That was an excruciating watch - the tactical ineptitude, stubborness and lack of courage is horrendous. My only sympathy for Southgate is that he didn't hire himself - some clowns at the FA saw fit to give him the big job even though he is PAINFULLY unqualified.
He was truly dogshit today. I don't know what ppl are saying but they obviously have no ball knowledge. The guy is a Sylvestre clone just really really crap
Some players are just God's favorite and Jude Bellingham is one of them.. Ghosted for an entire 94 minutes only to pull a splendid goal out of nowhere is insane..already a favorite boy for the british. He is really that main character lol.
