From an athletic standpoint, Mitrione was one of the better heavies i have seen. Sure he wasnt a world beater in terms of his career, he did come to the sport late, but he had a lot of potential. He had power, hand speed, and he could accelerate in and out very quickly. Most heavies are pretty plodding by comparison.
@@Therealvaulterwhite Prior to the fight, i had picked Gane winning by decision. I wasnt a fan of the match because i wanted to see Lewis rematch Ngannou, and i knew Gane was the worst match up for Derrick in the division. The guy is just too fast, moves too well, and his striking is much more technical than the beast. The more i thought about it, i figured there was a good chance Gane may get the stoppage. I was expecting a heavy leg kick game, but while he did hurt Lewis with some kicks it he didnt throw as many as I thought he would. Very impressive performance. But i dont think its enough to get past Francis. Francis last outing vs Stipe, he looked very relaxed and patient with his striking. Much more dangerous than his usual bum rushes. I think he walks Gane down
Me too. I thought this was gonna be a brotha's revenge for what Matt did to Kimbo Slice, while smiling the whole time. When my friend's two black uncles have nightmares after a long day partying in their backyard BBQ, I know Matt must be there somewhere in their dreams.

With heavyweight punches, the brain damage is worse, so they don't give you much time to wait it out. How many punches do you wanna take from Shane Carwin to your ears while your face is in the canvas? Ask you doctor first. The ref gave Frank Mir too long to be a warrior against Carwin, for example. Other ref's have learned since.

Dont know y Lewis protested the KO because he was given time to recover. Always wonder how good Matt M would of been if he got into the sport sooner and actually gave 100% effort into his training. He might just of been thrown in the fire a little to quick. UFC and Dana kinda fed him to the wolves and they ate him up and shit him out 🤷🏼♂️… thats what the UFC does with some of their guys and i just dont get it. But then give special privileges to Conor, Ronda, DC , Brock Lesnar, Brian Ortega, Sean O’Malley and many others. That why i love seeing those guys and girls that they push get smashed.
