@@burlhorse61 He was actually very open about those issues for about 20 years. He did a lot of coke during the earlier years of FRIENDS (hence his very svelte frame) and eventually his alcoholism and addiction to pharmaceutical pain meds took over. He's done so much for struggling addicts over the years, and I hope he's remembered for that too

@@thomasw1865 agreed. Perry has been open about his struggles with addiction. GN went for the entertainment aspect and the laughs. unfortunately, in this case. but then chat show hosts usually do.

@@thomasw1865 Matthew Perry told the original story on Graham Norton prefacing it with “this was back in the days when I drank too much.” And Perry has told the same story on several other chat shows, (I’ve seen it on Ellen and I believe Conan also) so it’s not like they dug up some story from his past nobody knew about.
