She's adorable, so smart and likable. That baby girl is beautiful! Taking in a child gives us a lot too. In addition to our children, we took in 2 girls who had a similar home life, middle school friends of my daughters, and raised them. Now young adults doing wonderfully, sometimes I just look at them when life is tough and feel maybe I contributed a little to our world, not changing the world, but making someone's life a little better than it was betters our own lives too.

Thank you for doing all these videos. I suffer from very bad depression and anxiety but the worst thing for me is my social anxiety to the point where my marriage is on the rocks and I have no support system around me. No family no friends and struggling really bad financially. And I’ve been to so many doctors but no one will help me so it’s been really bad and I thank you for posting these so that sometimes I don’t feel so alone.

I have a girlfriend who I never understood how, or why she can feel like that, it was so sad, and the medication she has to take for manic-depression, she was always so sad looking, I tried to make her laugh, and she would just smile. My heart goes out to her, because she has it real bad. Thank you for showing me another side.

I love how sometimes you talk about some of the hard things especially knowing it can truly be the hardest to talk about. Especially when it comes to childhoods. I think you are doing an amazing job with State of Mind.

I can totally relate to her story. I went through the same thing as a child. Coming from parents who have drug addiction has been very difficult for me and it has long term effects I still grapple with.

I just saw you, Maurice and your beautiful daughter on the Tamron Hall show! She surprised you in her AF uniform for the first time. It was amazing to see how proud you were of her and how excited she was to surprise you! This video was recommended to me right after and here I am! I am so glad I found your channel.

I'm sorry, but I need to respond to this episode with Heather in (my therapy!) sections. It was such a joy meeting Heather & Eloise! I was 22 when I had my first (surprise!) son. I met my husband in Dec. '81, got pregnant in Jan, married May 1st. I was not going to have an abortion. I was prepared to raise him by myself. Funny thing- I had met several of his family members before I met him! His Mom worked at a catalog store. His Dad was our Fuller Brush salesman. I met & graduated with his sister. His brother I met in Russian Club & again later when working at a local hospital. His sis-in-law worked there, too! Then, I met him, both of us working 45 minutes away from home! Destiny? 🤷‍♀️ We have 3 amazing sons. First one (the "experimental one"!) I rocked to sleep always. Then, 14 months later, was another son. Now I have 2 babies on my lap. WTH?! Son #2, thankfully, sucked his thumb, so in to the crib he went. I'm learning!! 😬Then, 5 years later, son #3. He ain't gettin' away with nothin'! 😉Bedtime is bedtime. *WHEW!* A huge ty to my Mom, for helping me with them through all these years, especially since my Rheumatoid Arthritis was always so bad... But, let me tell you something from my inner MOMMA BEAR - NOBODY MESSES WITH & HURTS MY BABIES & WALKS AWAY!! I don't care HOW OLD MY BOYS ARE! YOU HURT THEM?! YOU WILL ANSWER TO ME! YOU THINK SONNY CORINTHOS IS SCARY?! NOT AS SCARY AS I CAN BE! 😉😉 Congratulations, Heather! ❤️You are a great Mom! Just keep being you!

When you said something on the strength of being better because you got through it, so many people need to hear this because too many believe they won’t make it and unfortunately harm themselves. I always say that life is hard, it’s not supposed to be easy, but coming through it shows your resilience and strength. No matter what you are going through, you are stronger than you think! I pray for those that watched this heard what you said, let it marinate on their brains and believe that they are stronger than they think and know that they will absolutely be okay. No matter how dark your day may seem, the sun shines on us all…

Great conversation Mo and Heather! I'm the kind of person who is sensitive and prefers my own company. I remember back when I was in high school, every now and then someone would say, "You are so sensitive," and then look at me as if I had a problem. That is when I learned to try and hide the sensitivity and 'roll with the punches'. It's not a bad approach, given the times. Not a good one, though, because there is not one thing wrong with being sensitive. The world is big enough for all kinds of beings. If someone disregards you for being sensitive, simply regard them as being an asshole.

So, ur wife & daughter r half sisters as well as mom/daughter! Beautiful!

Love your daughter Heather!!! She seems so sweet and down to earth!! Very likeable!! I can honestly relate to being in an abusive relationship myself and that trapped feeling and making all kinds of excuses for the abuser just to convince yourself he's really not that bad and it becomes a total mind game of excuses for his bad behavior!! I wasn't physically abused but definitely emotionally abused and constantly threatened by him. As women we seem to always make excuses for the men we are with at the time because out of fear of being left I guess?? Its just a horrible thing to experience and I went through the court issue too but he took me on false charges?? Its ashame because he was once someone I can depend on and thought was easy going but he changed through the years as he got older and he also had some health issues with his heart and cancer too. He started getting all these tattoos too that I didn't like and it seemed like the more tattoos he would get the more verbally abusive he would be?? That's why I really don't like tattoos on a man till this day because of what I went through with him! He became hard cold and threatening and putting me down too! Very bad and I suffered emotionally! Went through it for over 23 years! He just changed for the worst once he had his 1st heart attack and that seemed to make him break? I think he felt like he couldn't function as a man anymore so he took it out on me? As women we are so afraid to be alone and the stigma if your not married too so we try to hold on to something we know is bad but do it out of confusion and all the other excuses that go along with it! Family and friends support is crucial when going through something like that!! Anyway I'm so happy Heather was able to find new love again a better love and that "beautiful" baby they have!!! She is adorable!!! Maurice your very blessed to have such warm loving children and grandchildren along with your wife Paula!! Family means everything and they all seem to adore you too!! You must be a wonderful grandpa!!!! Keep up the good work and these great sit downs with State of Mind! Really enjoying it!!❤❤

I enjoy watching you with your family - Heather is such a blessing and Eloise must be pure joy! I have 5 grandchildren. The oldest is 21 and the youngest is 5. Thank you for your focus on mental health. My daughter has anxiety, depression, and bi-polar. She spent nearly 3 years in prison. And now she’s a medical professional. She still struggles, but she’s doing so well. I believe you’re helping to remove the stigma surrounding mental health issues. I have watched GH from the beginning - Season 1, Episode 1 so I have enjoyed watching your skill as an actor for many years. Now, through State of Mind, I’m seeing a different side and I appreciate your transparency about the challenges you face. These conversations help so many people. So I hope you continue with it.
