so, in the midst of a graphics card shortage, you paid an outrageous sum for a high end pc and the first thing you do is play max payne 3? I mean it's a good game but what a fucking waste of money you moron lmao
You know that God-awful feeling you get when you pass out drunk and then wake up thirsty, disorientated, disappointed in yourself, and just in time to experience the full onset of the hangover in its full glory? Imagine that in addition to finding out that you failed at your job and now have to murder an entire Panamanian death squad. fuck that shit. I'd be popping every narco that came across me too lol. Poor fuckin Max.
Literally an un-ending mockery with Max as the butt of the joke until he, finally, refused it, got off the booze by sheer willpower and cleared up his thoughts long enough to take control. A lot of what Max became after the second game, in my view, was a desensitised husk, only provoked to action by impulse and instinct. He broke the cycle eventually by resolving to at least make sense of the clusterfuck that was going on with him at its centre.
Not only that. The tons of animations that go with it still haven't been replicated. The top part of his body slightly leans to whatever side he moves. I've been playing this the last few days. The shooting mechanics mixed with the AI bullet hit reactions is still like no other game on the market. The facial expressions as they take the hit, or how their hands go towards whenever they got hit in the upper body is "payne-fully" realistic. It's crazy how this game still hasn't had a remaster. And is still stuck only to be played on last gen consoles or PC. It's a bloody masterpiece
@@MrAden1307 You're right, after reading your comment I was just thinking about how the Airport shootout is my all time favourite level out of any TPS I've played. That entire moment was where the gunplay, movement animations, verticality, music, enemy layout and ai came together to create those "lightning in a bottle" moments that are extremely rare now.
@@wylser your spot on. That last mission is so epic. You feel so pumped at that point 😂 knowing everything Max has been through. This game hasn't be replicated in the slightest. And with the current games on the market. It looks like this type of game, with all of the mechanics & music, the brilliant bullet physics and AI animations. This game will remain one of a kind
it's easy to throw yourself around and beyond your limits when your sedated on pills, numbed by alcohol dependency and utterly dismissive about your own physical eel-being. Max can do this stuff because he's pretty much detached from himself, that is until he reaches some closure with what's happened.
Take a closer look at Michael Townley, he actually used to be thinner but desperate back in NY, then 9 years later, turned out to be cynical, negative about how society evolved to be, in his own words "rich and miserable", became an alcoholic, became fatter, lost his last long dream of being a famous football player way back from HS, but like Max, rose up at some point really later into his adulthood into becoming someone else. Both Max and Michael had a really rough and traumatizing past and both at the end had a happy ending, at the cost of losing friends, loved ones and people who both cared for years ago. They stood up to their demons, fought them and both won. Michael needs rest now, so is Max. That's why both of these characters shouldn't need to appear in new games based on the future of what they ended their story with. Both has been through a lot, more than anyone in real life, even trained could get out sane. Rockstar has made their protagonists as humanized as possible and even them could become insane because of post traumatic events or too much heat on a prolonged time.
This level was like a fever dream, waking up with a hangover just to realise everyone was brutally slaughtered... not only the yacht even the docks and the museum at land were suddenly crowded with bloodthirsty mercenaries. And your friends were standing there just packing their stuff onto a car ready to leave just like it's an ordinary day.
It's this game's nightmare. And while it's no "running through a bloody hallway as you hear the cries of your dead infant daughter", it's still quite disturbing.
"The way I see it there’s two types of people, those who spend their lives trying to build a future and those who spend their lives trying to rebuild the past. For too long I’d be stuck in between, hidden in the dark."
@@WillemDafuq69I’m only here for those I love, they’re my reason for staying. My irreversible departure from this earth and reunion with the stars would cause more pain upon my family and friends than I ever wish to force anybody to endure. Sleep is my only refuge, my only break from everything, though dreams seem invasive, they carry no weight unlike the conscious day, no more than stretched moments of fabricated confusion and nonsense.
"This wasn't the first time I had woken up with a hangover, long after a party had turned sour". "Now the boat could go back to smelling like suntan oil, stale margaritas and greed". The Max Payne trilogy will always have a place in my heart.
Panama proved that MP3 could be dark without being set in Hokoben or an NY slum. HEALTH really gave us a masterpiece. I feel the same tension, fear and feeling of darkness I felt in the opening scene of MP1, Max in Roscoe Street knowing that Alex was alone in there somewhere too, trying to escape the hotel with just a bat after being torturedby Frankie Niagra, Max unarmed in the hospital outrunning the cleaners in MP2.
I love the music, melancholic, dark, somehow heartwarming. I love the character of Max Payne. I have never met someone in real life, who is asked for advice by some drinking rich-kid in a club and replies down to earth, why he wants advice from him, a drunk guy far away from home, who is in a place, where he can't stand the music.
best part of Max Payne 2 and 3, and GTAV for me is my grandfather is exactly like a combo of Michael and Max. his sense of humor, down to earth-ness in the face of BS, his general attitude, the way he looks, and the constant metaphors. its amazing honestly.
The more you grow up, the more you start relating to this character while getting struck and hit by the harsh realities and experiences in life that shape and mould you into something greater, stronger and braver. Truly one of the most relatable characters in the history of Video Games and entertainment in general.
You can feel Max's existential pain in this track. The undying burden, his deep depression and death wish and the void after losing Michelle, Rose and Mona. I truly hope for Max's return in a new title. He doesn't deserve to be forsaken.
what he does deserve is peace and quiet. and we already had ourselves a nice trilogy. I think Max deserves to rest. think of him enjoying the beach, the sunset and the margaritas while not monologuing sarcastically in his head, just like in MP3's ending.
"I still didn't know how I'd gone from drinking myself numb in New Jersey to looting corpses in Brazil. But this is where I was-5,000 miles from a home I couldn't go back to, on another suicide mission to clean up a mess that wasn't even mine."
“Daphane Burnstein, a recent divorcee making the most of her considerable settlement, and marcello was making the most of her. I didn’t... I don’t wanna think about it.”
Miami/ South Fla is such a cool place in general for fiction. So much from being close to the carribean and Latin America and also being so goddamn American and diverse landscapes and people . So Glad it’s the location for GTA 6.
Rockstar should purchase the gaming rights to the Punisher and make a game as him as the main characters with Max Paynes 3's gunplay and mechanics. That would literally be a dream come true
I can just hear loud boot footsteps and a man screaming "ENCONTRE A UNO DE ELLOS!" While Max is in cover at the door with a Glock in his hand. This whole chapter was sort of eerie in a way. Truly a masterpiece of a game. Always will be!
@@audiosurfarchive Yes...Health did an outstanding job with it. I don't think an OST made me feel so emotional in a long time. And the most amazing thing is, it's not the typical orchestra stuff. It's incredible.
Max Payne Claude Tommy vercetti Carl Johnson Niko Bellic Michael Townley Franklin Clinton Trevor Philips Jimmy Hopkins Arthur Morgan John marston Rockstar make a legendary characters ❤️
Max Payne 3 really had that Far Cry 3 vibe to it. It was one of the best games I looked for. I wish Ubisoft and Rockstar make more Tropical Island type games.
There's that hard sequence with the stairs just after the room with the piano. At least you get additional painkillers and ammo if you fail enough times
@@ayushgupta7273 on my first ever playthrough I almost died at least 5 times on almost every chapter lol. I was a dumb kid though so that's probably why
when we talk about soundtracks in video games I think max payne 3 has the most underrated one of all time, when I tell u the greatest songs I've ever listen to are on this game I'm not lying, this song specifically is my favorite at 4:02 when that other beat comes in, is what makes the track for me its amazing to listen to, I will continue to listen to this masterpiece of a soundtrack until I die Thank You Health
As soon as a heard this track while playing max Payne 3 on Xbox 360 back in 2011/12……from there on a knew gta 5 soundtrack was going to be something SPECIAL n a mean special
@@drwgalabuschagne3287 the mid life crisis drunk, cigar huffing miserable guy in his late 40's who wants a chill life but wants action too. That's both Max and Michael lol
@@maxpayne7030 he even gets a special ability reminiscent of Max's bullet time. in the GTA universe, the Max Payne trilogy is probably a series of classic Vinewood films that Michael loves and is obsessed with. he probably fancies himself a deeply troubled anti-hero who's also witty and smart, but is in reality a deluded fat guy who backstabs everyone he meets. I love both characters btw.
We got god awful movie with fuckin Wahlberg as Max, Mccafferey was put in 3second cameo and not even credited, WHO THE FUCK was in charge of that shit? THey should've just ditch this piece of shit whalberg and give James the lead, even with godawful script and story his acting and voice would fix it right up to be serviceable and not god-awful. He was better than most of the cast they got.... Tarantino by the wheel, Cafferey as Max, Health making ost......It would be marvelous....
@Interesting Dude lmao just cause theres accessible online play to almost everyone today..... and SA is one of the most played GTAs yearly still... 🤦🏾♂️ their still making mods for it lol what makes gta v good? its "grafixxx?" its overly detailed, yet emtpy af open world? its lack of the entire state of SA? or the Microtransactions for that precious online? lmao
@Interesting Dude lmao yeah sure. a ps2 game from the early and mid 2000s is STILL being compared to a 2013 and 2015(XBO and PS4 version) game. theres a reason for that. gta v story was sub par at best.... TBOGT was a better plot lol and yeah, online is free for almost any game. still gotta buy stuff to be on par with mostly everyone else. you cant even get certain cars to race properly without having to buy a dlc carr lol
@Interesting Dude GTA IV's story, physics and details > GTA V's story, physics and details GTA SA's gameplay and possiblities > GTA V's gameplay and possibilities. All of these games are really, really, really good, every game has it's cons and pros..
@Interesting Dude lmao maybe now, not when it was first released. Hows that online currency for real money?? And maybe you dont pony up actual cash but there is millions that do... and heists wasnt even available until the next gen rerelease of the game. Keep drinking that gtav kool aid buddy, better graphics doesnt mean a better game. And like the other dude said, IV is miles above V, let alone SA lol
Full Glock Auto, Painkillers and a Hangover, the perfect mix of destruction in a doomed water "paradise". I guess these war pirates will know their fate as soon as I will get out of my room. (Imagine Max Payne saying that!)
