Fantastic, thanks so much for putting this online. Conan is without a doubt one of the best, and Bruce is the boss. (But only speaking as a fan for nearly 50 years.)
This is a Springsteen fan fest. You have Bruce there for Max’s last show. Then you have Natalie Merchant who covered a Bruce song. And then you have a very young Jon Stewart who ALSO had Bruce and come and play on HIS last show.
No he wasn't Vini Lopez was the original drummer. Max was hired for the recording of the Born to Run album. He wasn't even there in time to record the studio version of the song Born to Run, which featured "Boom" Carter on drums.
Good times in 1999. It's 2 years before I was born but I feel some kind of strange nostalgia about 80s and 90s. People did things different back then on TV, more entertaining than now and music was still genuine and light hearted.
I've been laughing at that ever since I first saw it about 20 yrs ago. I thought if Bruce wasn't with his wife Patti he would've had a sure thing with Natalie for the night. Lol Natalie Merchant doing a yoke check. Hilarious.
