i am only one week in - how often did you walk and for how long? - i need to start something - 49 pounds is amazing - what else have you found that worked for you?
Try at least 30 minutes and walk some hills if you're outside and if not walk incline if you're on treadmill. You will definitely loose a lot of inches! 3 to 5 Days a week. Good luck!💪🏼@@kenbrb6261
@@kenbrb6261 I’m so sorry for my delayed response. I stared walking once a week in the beginning and then increased my walking to 2-5 days a week. I take the stairs at work instead of the elevator. Kept my carbs below 80 grams per day. No sweets and lots of protein. I’m not diabetic but I am insulin resistant so eating after 8 is a no for me . Weights also helped me. Purchased a walking pad so instead of sitting while watching tv I walk while watching tv. Fiber helped with the constipation ( fruits and veggies) I learned to make lots of sweet stuff with either Greek yogurt. Thank you! Best wishes on your journey 💕
Turns out, it's not us. It's not a character flaw, not lazyness. Some of us are affected more by the flaw that is glucose metabolism. Some people stay slim easily, some settle into obesity and can't do much about it. Ozempic is a revolution in medicine and in biology. I hope it works for you. For me it did.
I feel your nutritionist. I had to go carnivore- removed all carbs-veggies too. I fast 16-18 hours a day and no snacking. Lost 100lbs. I have about 30-50lbs to go. I don’t miss food. I don’t miss sweats. This is sustainable. I feel amazing. I eat a lot of butter, ribeyes with extra butter , I fry my foods in lard and tallow- real animal fats. I stay so full I can do the fasting.
Omg! So someone who totally gets it. I’m learning so much about being “fat adapted” which honestly sounds like your diet. This is so important! Yes to butter on things, avocados and avocado oil! Yeassss Congratulations on your weight loss. That is tremendous progress ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜💜💜💜💜
@@LatriceKelly there’s an entire community here on RU-vid. Dr. KenBerry, Dr.ShawnBakerMD, Blackcarnivore, Dr.TonyHampton, Beat Diabetes, Dr. Sten Eckberg, Dr. AnthonyChaffee, Dr. EricBerg, Delighted to Meat You & Adapt Your Life just to name a few channels. These channels are 20 grams nor less of carbs (keto) and zero carbs (carnivore). I never went to my doctor; just started brainwashing myself with all of their advice and changed. Best thing I ever did for my health.
Keto is the best meal plan. Think hunter gather. This IS what they would have eaten and fasting would be a way of life. It gives your body time to digest and heal itself. Beriers and black coffee to add to the delicious meal plan. See Dr.Berg for further help.
@@YouAREyoubeYou yes I’m very familiar with Dr. Eric Berg. He’s done so much to help so many. He’s helped me tremendously. I started keto but I lean towards carnivore now. It’s just easier. All the vegetable prep was time consuming. Having to eat it before it spoiled. Huhhhhh. 😂 I don’t think the oxalates in the veg agreed with my gut. It could have even been the pesticides on the vegetables. I felt good keto but I haven’t felt this great since my 20s since going carnivore. I
I started Wegovy 4/9, and already down 7lbs as of 4/14. I can’t snack, I have no appetite/hunger so I’m reminding myself to eat. I had 1 slice of cheese pizza yesterday and my stomach did NOT like it. Whole foods are the way to go for me. Minimizing processed foods, fried foods etc. I’m not exercising, but I’m going to start going on short walks. Thanks for your video!
@@Cajeudy I started at the lowest dosage, and just finished at .5 and starting the next higher dosage this weekend. I noticed I'm not as bloated looking, and I always lose weight in my face first LOL I havent had to change any of my clothing sizes, but the scale is saying I've lost weight so far!
@@daninatia it will because , I was on Tirzepatide since February then I switched because of the cost, it’s more expensive but I will have to get back to it instead, I have lost 52 lbs on it and quick it’s more effective than semaglutide and less side effects there’s a reason why it’s more expensive.
I started mounjaro 3 weeks ago. It’s the carbs, processed foods, the standard American diet, seed and vegetable oils etc that got us here! (Avocado, coconut, and olive oils are technically fruit oils) Other countries have banned a lot of the things we’re told are completely safe! Such great info! We will not die if we don’t have a muffin every 3 hours!
Your comments about food culture obsessed is spot on! We've gone from truly having cake --only on very special occasions (like 5-6 times/year) to weekly or more! Most successful dieters will tell you they eat very consciously 90% of the time. Your doctor sounds amazing. And girl, you are so lovely! Your skin glows. Praying for your continued success and good health!
Right. I graduated from college & my mom bought a cake for me. It was cute but I had just had gastric bypass 6 months earlier. I was like why? Talk about sabotage.
I’m with you! After thinking, I don’t think I truly know hunger. Many times I eat because it’s time to feed my family. I absolutely enjoyed this video. You’re super relatable.❤️
Thank you, Latrice! I was just recommended Ozempic for fat loss by my health care provider, so here I am on a deep dive of RU-vid to gather as much additional information as possible, and really found this helpful!
I was prescribed Ozempic today by my doctor for weight loss. I've lost 18 pounds on my own in the last year but it's been a struggle. I'm currently 230 pounds, and Im praying that this medication will help me lose more weight. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Oh no dairy (if I do buy cheese it’s sheep or goat ) all organic foods, grass fed stuff … spring water no purified water etc I do end up having 1-2 unhealthy meals a week tho!
My experience has been very good, I have lost 41 lbs so far and am finally out of plus size pants and tops.I am also a Type II Diabetic. I cut my portions. I eat kids meals or lunch portions.I do not eat a lot of bread or snacks. If it is snacks it is fresh fruit and vegetables.I have gotten to where beef does not agree with me. A small kids hamburger is fine. I do not use butter on anything.that is just me so you can do that if you want.I drink unsweet decar tea wtih Swerve for sweetner. Does not raise blood sugar and no calories.I do not bring junk into the house unless it is a small serving and only once a week,Good luck and success! I have about 30 lbs more. You need to do what works for you. If you don't like it. you won't stick to it.
Just subscribed to your channel, because I love your optimistic and kind vibes:-); I restarted Ozempic after an interval that it was out of the market.... during which I regained the weight I had lost in the worst way possible, I've reached the peak of my weight gain - wasn't that overweight even when I was pregnant with a 4 kg baby. That said, despite being back at square one I know everything will work out from now on. Good luck to all of us.
Absolutely love your video!!!! You bring in a very important issue with weight loss, YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR EATING HABITS!!! I love your healthy promotion of not snacking, not measuring or weighing your food! You are an amazing inspiration
Ozempic and the other GLP-1 meds are a game changer. Not only are they providing patients a virtually non-invasive alternative to weight loss surgery, but it’s helping people who are having trouble losing weight due to medical conditions like PCOS and being on psych meds. The irritating part of this is it’s not covered by most insurances, so it’s cost-prohibitive to most people in the US ($1000+/month supply), and even though it’s cheaper in Canada ($400/month supply) and US patients can get it from there, it may still be cost-prohibitive.
Thank you for sharing your tips and experience. Intermittent fasting was a game changer for me. My weight did not move until I started intermittent fasting. I have been doing intermittent fasting for two years now. I need to go no carbs completely to hit my goal weight. Thanks again for the tips.
Thank you Latrice for your experience and great tips. I have an appt on Sat with my integrative doc and I'm researching and these tips were very helpful to be able to prepare my questions and follow through with the process. You're beautiful. Keep it going girl!!!
My Ozempic was recently increased to 2 MG due to a long plateau. The scale still isn't really moving ( I have 15-20 more pounds to go until my personal goal) but I'm not discouraged. I've already lost 45 pounds. But for me, I still have to be super mindful of food choices and portion sizes, as I don't really notice much loss of appetite or GI side effects of the medication..even at max dose! Oh..and I should add that I was prescribed O due to diabetes. My sugars are perfect every day now!
Great video Latrice ! You did a great job of presenting the facts - and everything u mentioned works if u want it to works I hope at least one of your viewers tries this - believes in it to the core - because God will help you if u are dead serious !!
Ive been watching some videos like this today... and people have said things that are contrary to a gestational diabetes diet that was created by EVMS and I had the best results following it for three pregnancies in three different states telling me different things. My A1C was best when I did it the EVMS way which was probably stricter. This video that you have made is so wise and gentle. I feel lile Ive done these things at various times and those were the times I saw progress. So thank you for this video ❤
Thankyou. I feel you are absolutely correct. Its not just the Ozempic its the great lifestyle change you have made for yourself. Congratulations. Btw I am day 4 starting Ozempic. Grateful for good advice from a good person. Happy Trails!
I'm waiting on the approval of my injectable. I just want say you have given some awesome tips!! Over the years one of my sisters and one of my nieces and I have used Maria's apps relating to food or a liquid and it makes so much sense to use the notepad or download a notepad and keep it simple. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR HEALTH JOURNEY!!
Thanks I've lost 25 pounds so far and had to check myself on eating habits. When I wanna chew I choose veggies and fruit. I don't eat any meat anyway unless it's seafood. It takes a lil commitment but the results are astounding and keeping it off requires an intermittent lifestyle.
I’m so glad that I found your videos. I’m a type 2 diabetic, and I was prescribed Ozempic yesterday. I’m waiting on insurance approval right now. So in the meantime I’m doing a lot of research. Thanks for your help. Also… what is the name of the podcast that you mentioned?
I loved your video babe, ❤ I learned quite a few things, even though I thought I knew a lot. I just started on my Ozempic journey a week ago so I'm subscribed to your channel and will follow your journey and rooting for you. ❤
How about your hair? Did it make it any stronger or brittle? Did your hair grow faster or stagnate? I've just been prescribed this medication and am already having issues with my hair. Thank you. New subbie
Refer to Dr. Tyna Moore's podcast about dosing in low amounts in order to avoid side effects. Pharma is dosing very high which can cause all sorts of zide effects.
I found this method of working with your doctor who is supportive on your weight loss goals and health is the best route. I have never lost weight on my own and kept it off without this level of help. You got this!
Can you speak on the side effects. I was prescribed ozempic today and I’m scared to death to start it because of what I’ve been hearing about the side effects. Does something in particular make them worse like eating too much food or too many carbs?
I’ve been on it for 5 months. I’ve lost almost 70 pounds. I eat more early during day. Cause eating late...... for me , I don’t digest enough and I’ll get super sick overnight. No dairy after lunch. Eat quality carbs. Quality protein. And the quality of fat is important. Steak fried in butter..... not to much of that. That’s me.
I have been on ozempic for 6 months. At first I was constipated, had the sulfur burps, and def felt full and bloated. As time went by, most went away. But, as many have said, the food noise went away. I no longer think about food and am full fast. I dont even want chocolate! I find if I keep eating past feeling full, I feel awful. Get enough protein, and drink water.
There are many keto snake options now. Keto ice cream is the best! Low to 1 carb per serving. There is also zero net carb tortillas and keto bread from Costco.
Hi, Latrice! Thank you for these great videos. I have a quick question. I know you promote doing a 16/8 fast but only eating one meal. I was wondering if you only eat ONE meal during that 8 hours, or do you eat more than once in that 8 hour span of time? I just started Ozempic 3 weeks ago and am down 13 pounds. BUT, I have done an 18-20 hour fast regularly for 2 years now so I eat several times during that short (4-6 hour) window of time. I do strict KETO when I do eat. So, I am curious...as I add Ozempic into my fasting regime, if I should try to just eat ONE time in that window? Thank you for your help! :)
Started on Saturday, June 01. Today is Wednesday June 05. How long before you feel something, anything? Does it need to build up in your system? I am hopeful that this starts to curb cravings. I'm realistic about it, not looking for miracles, just a little something to help. For many years I controlled my weight with intense exercise and it worked. But a few years back I was in an accident and I'm not as young as I once was. I exercise but the intensity is not there (yet) and the weight creeped up. So now I have to focus more on diet and cravings are tough.
It does need time to build up...give it a week or two (maybe longer). I feel that Ozempic does a better job of staving off the cravings. The feeling fuller sooner thing is so real. Your hunger alerts will be pushed to the background. So focus on getting in your protein so your skin, hair and nails won't suffer. You got this@
I've been off for few months now. First when I quit, the effects of appetite suppression was still prevalent. It takes a while for the meds to leave your system. Now my appetite has crept back to "normal" I've put on a couple pounds. Thankfully I have NOT gained back the whole 30. I plan on going back on Oz in January 2024 :-) Thank you for asking and allowing me to be really transparent!
@@LatriceKelly do you know if Trulicity the as ozempic? I’m on . My doctor put me on the lowest dose and after a couple of weeks I told him I’m still feeling hungry and I’m not losing weight. Now I’m on 1.5 mg on the weight watchers diet have lost a few pounds my appetite fluctuates at times. I can be very hungry and sometimes I’m not hungry. Do you know if this is a adjustment to my body.
I tried to listen but ended up counting how many times you touched your hair. Lol. I'm easily distracted. Going to try to listen again without watching the video. Sounds like great advice.
I just started almost a week ago, and I’ve already lost 3lbs! Thank god cause though I’m not morbidly obese, I’ve been likely getting symptoms of fatty liver disease for the last few months and my skin all over is sooo itchy. It’s not dry, no rash, but damn it’s awful.
I went on Ozempic for my diabetes @ .50 dose and I lost 15 pounds after 2 months. Then weight loss stopped and it started going back on. I am looking for help as to why I am not losing a lot like everyone else. I barely eat and pretty sure Ozempic is making me malnourished as I can not eat due to nausea and it makes you just not want to eat. I can only walk about 1 mile 3 times a week, weather providing. As far as home exercises - no clue, I lift weights. I can not eat meat at all on Ozempic unless I want sulfur burps all day long.
It's called "Weight Loss for Busy Physicians" it's on spotify and on Dr. Katrina Ubell's website. Just look for the series on her podcast called the "Roadmap" and start from there. Life changing!
Thank you for all your information am going to start Ozempic soon. Anyone have any side effects? When throughout the day are you taking it? With a meal or empty stomach?
My doctor recommended stomach surgery. I'm going thru menopause and asked about hormones to help with weight. I'm going to ask about meds. Less evasive.
You can also get it directly here. katrinaubellmd.com/podcast/ Go to "podcast" at the top and then choose "where to start" to get the Roadmap series -- my doctor specifically said to listen to those. 1 per day in 30 days!
Just did my first shot on Semaglutide yesterday thanks for this video my stomach does feel weird but my body is probably shocked at this point my doctor suggested this med
For everyone commenting that it’s a quick fix , and people are being lazy and want to lose weight easily …….. You still have to diet and exercise, it’s not a miracle cure for being overweight. You have to out the work in
I just took my 3rd dose. I feel sick the first 3 days. Headache, nausea, heartburn, and fatigue. Then I feel completely normal the other 4 days. I have one more dose at the lowest dose and then I double it. I’m terrified.
Thank you, Latrice. I'm seeing Dr. on Oct 3 about Ozempic. Had to change my Primary to do it. Current on high fat, very low carb with Time Restricted Window of 18:6; lost 2 lbs in 2 mos. LOL. The fat will have to change I know but was wondering if I could continue the 18:6 so thank you. I was wondering how one could possibly eat 5-6 small meals (raising glucose & insulin) and lose weight....that's grazing...like cows.
Yesssssss to this comment. It's exactly that. Grazing. Picking over your plate because you just cannot eat a whole meal anymore. This drug, while amazing and helping us with A1C lowering and regulation of blood sugar, we have to find the balance in how to get our macros in!
UPDATE: Humana DENIED. Have to be diabetic both Oz and Mounjaro. Can't afford out of pocket. So it's a no go for me. They won't pay for a glucose meter either for same reason. Thats ok. I wasn't keen on a lifelong drug or gaining back the wt again when you go off and the risks. Soooo...I'm looking at going almost carnivore and eliminating all carbs. All carbs produce insulin spikes. One kind does it fast, the other slow..same result...sugar.
Insurance companies are 👿…. Make it make sense. If you or I suffered a heart attack or stroke due to side effects of obesity, surgery would likely be covered. But “no” to preventative or treating the disease! Insanity!
I'm over being furious. Been screaming all week. I'm on my own again. Ck out Dr. KenDBerry. All carbs & inflammatory oils = high insulin = visceral fat storage = inflammation = muscle pain. Visceral fat chews up muscle tssue and makes it difficult to rebuild muscle especially if older (sarcopenia). It makes our muscles look like marbling in a steak. Suggests stop pouring gas on fire first. No carbs. We can get everything we need from meat, poultry, eggs, seafood, and a few fermented vegs. Meat proteins do not raise insulin. I'm 77. It will take awhile but as visceral fat starts to go away, the muscles will start responding if taxed.
Yes Ozempic will help you lose weight for sure, however applying wisdom before taking these meds is important. For context, there has been a slew of FDA approved anti-obesity wonder drugs that have been withdrawn years later because of adverse long term affects such as liver disease, heart issues etc.
My insurance will pay for Majourno if my doctor diagnoses me with type II diabetes. I have HIGH insulin levels, an A1c of 7.4 but only 123 fasting blood glucose. I am insulin resistant, and he says I am not diabetic. The ADA and Family Practice College guidelines seem to indicate that a one-time high A1c, no matter the fasting blood glucose level is diabetes type II. Also, they indicate Type II diabetes can involve low or high insulin levels and insulin resistance. So I am getting a second opinion.
