Spray the crossmembers above the spare tire area. My 16 had more surface rust above there than anywhere. I'm in PA. I sprayed all the steel on my 22 f150. Used the 360 can wand on the inside of the frame.
I really enjoyed this vlog Rich, keep on putting out content like this and you're channel will be at 200,000 subscribers in not very long 6 months, 12 for sure ,RU-vid Super Star 😊. bodymanbob from Alabama and Northern Virginia .
Hello Rich: Thank you for another educational video. So what you mixed the bottom mounting plates for the new air bags. No harm done, if that's the worst, it's nothing but fly Poopy. You're air bag modification to you truck is absolutely beautiful, well done sir. That beautiful MB that pulled into your shop really gets my heart going. Well it should it's over $$ 200,000 Thousand Dollars $$ 💸 Rich, it's quitting time & I'm tired. Hope you had a profitable day. God Bless & my best to the family, TMP from N.J.
That's about right. In my shops these exotic cars would run $$ 5K to 25 K easy. Rich your not ripping these people off but the complexities of these vehicles is nothing to sneeze at. Forget book time on these cars. These customers pay for perfection & I never failed them even if I had to stay all night. That AMG 12 CYL I'll bet has a bunch of oil leaks ta boot. Who ever works on that car better have a spotless uniform & lots of fender covers or you will be paying for a repaint & that paint is very expensive !!!!! Get some rest my brother, TMP from N.J.
I used Ready Lift bags on mine they have built in bump stops. I like them they do what they are supposed to do. I put a 1000 lbs (1/2 ton) in it and it would squatted. Not anymore.
No the truck has coils up front and leafs in the rear. These air bags are for towing and weight in the bed. They keep the truck level and the ride nice.
I added a pair of Bilstein 5100 shocks to the rear of my 19' F150 and made a huge difference to towing.Definetly took the bounce out of the rear when pulling a 6000 lb travel trailer. Also nite and day difference on rough roads when empty, way more stable.I'm going to do the fronts next.Air bags are also a great idea,as are Summo Springs.Looks great!
Only issue I have no is on the ride home the residual air trapped in the bag is enough over bumps to create enough pressure when rebounding the truck feels stiff
@FordBossMe what do you have the bags aired up to? My Firestone bags I ride at 30 to 35 psi and don't feel it. If I'm at 50 to 60 psi like I would for light tow I Definitely feel a stiff ride. Between trucks and vans I have 8 in the fleet all have bags only one that doesn't is the 9th my personal non work truck it'll be getting bags shortly I'm just waiting on parts because it's getting full on boards air and leveling sensors
I just did airbags on my brother's 2020 raptor. About to install a kit on my f150 just waiting on the compressor and gauges. I'm doing on board air and level sensors. No fuss ever it'll do all the work for you. All my trucks and vans have air worth the money
Fluid Film is your friend! I love the stuff! Worth every penny! It's like Frank's Red Hot Sauce, "I put that shit on everything!" LOL! Great work, Rich! And hey, I'm glad you included your mistake in the video. (I respect that a lot!) It's an easy one to make, and we learn from our mistakes. Maybe someone can learn from your mistake. Have a great day, Sir! And God Bless. o7
I've always heard air bags were a no no for towing. That a weight distribution hitch without air bags was best. From what I heard, air bags lift from the axle and so they don't transfer weight to the front wheels, but actually can fool someone into overloading the rear axle weight limit by pushing more weight down on the axle exceeding it's rating. Where as the weight distribution hitch lifts from the frame to transfer weight off the rear axle and onto the front axle; and, if you use air bags in conjunction with a weight distribution hitch all you are doing is taking weight off the hitch bars and transferring it back to the bags and back down to the rear axle defeating the purpose of a weight distribution hitch. I've heard air bags are only good for leveling the load in the bed, but again, it doesn't distribute weight to the front axle, the weight will always be downward to the rear axle (downward vector)..
I’m looking for something like this. Was embarrassed few months ago when squatting to the point where guys at the store were asking me few times if that was a good idea to load that much lol Wonder if these guys selling will ship to Canada
I sure it was a tire pressure inlet valve like the valve stem of your car you add it with a tire pressure gauge but they actually make controllers that you can put in place and control from the dash with a pump
I'm a little confused I don't think you watch the video all the way through because if you did you would have seen that the vehicle was up in the air and the suspension was at Max travel so you would have seen your question being answered right in front of your face
@@FordBossMe I know because I have done the same thing" this junk doesn't fit !.....oops" float in Yamaha carb will fit upside down and wow do you get gas running everywhere
The woolwax kit I used came with a gun with bottles and with several wands with different tips. Was your fluid film aerosol cans or similar to the woolwax kits?
I think in the video I could be wrong that I said it I bought eight cans I'm pretty sure at the end though clearly said I bought eight cans make sure you're watching the videos all the way through
@FordBossMe indeed you did. I just didn't hear what their kits use for application like if it's aerosol paint can sized cans or comes with some sort of gun and wands like the woolwax kit I used. Figured for future touch ups may consider what I believe you used but didn't know what you used exactly. Seems like it went on good and easy from the looks of it
Hey Rich, hope your doing well man. When you have chance, can you make more videos using the Otofix d1? I have one and made some videos recently, it’s a great unit. I also sent back my XTool
