Definitely a notable difference.. I remember that vid..I just swapped the grease (hand lotion🙄) in my M1000 a few weeks ago..its a lot quieter than before🤘🏻
Thanks brother!!! Yeah I was shocked at how little was in there. It definitely made a difference. Looking forward to using it again! 🌮🌮🌮🌮 and a BONUS 🌮 LOL🤣
You are so right after you use a long throw your job goes a lot faster. I have Adams 15mm swirl killer works ok but after I purchased Griots G21 guess which one is my go to. The G21 is a lot quieter to. It’s nice to have a variety of polishers makes your detail more enjoyable. I just spent 25 hours on my corvette I will post a picture on the chat tomorrow very happy with the results. Need to change your handle to Papa smurf detailing your making good videos need people to find your fine work. Cheers.
Man, I was just talking with Brian ( FAB )About the new G21 that will be coming out. I'm pretty sure I'll be picking one up. As long as this M15Pro works well in the field! 25hrs?? Man I can't wait to see it! Appreciate you watching man! Haha idk about PapasmurfDetailing🤔🤔 there are some who wouldn't consider me a " detailer " LOL but totally hear where you are coming from! Take it easy, see ya in the chats!
I swap the grease on cordless adams polisher and feels better out the box it’s junk feels like a hammer my dewalt dual action cordless very smooth and powerful now that’s a machine!
Very nice. I did see Apex’s video on greasing the MaxShine polisher but still wasn’t sure if I needed to do this. Going to give this a shot. I’ll contact you if I can’t put it back together!
Thank you! Yes, it needs to be at least 4.5 to kick in good. It was stalling soooo easy before. I mean Hardly any pressure. Now I've gotta really put it to the test! Appreciate you watching! 👍👍
PapaSmurf918 I also seen it stall with different pad and polish / compound combos as well. Like if the polish is too thick and the pad is too aggressive it’ll stall. You with like the super heavy duty compounds. So I switched up to mostly Xtreme Solutions stuff and I’m not stalling nearly as much , same with the Sonax Cut max. I also noticed the longer microfiber cutting pads work good with the M15 Pro vs A shorter nap microfiber. But I also use Oberk Supreme Cut and that cuts well with either a short or longer nap microfiber. And something on a side note if you buy this stuff it’s called Black Soap it’ll be kinda multi color , a super all natural soap and wash your pads with it they come super clean. And they seem to perform better after being cleaned with it. Just my experience.
Thank you! That's awesome tips right there and you are right! I have noticed depending on pad Compond/polish combo if its grabby it tends to stall easier. I'll be putting it through its tests in the next few weeks👍 hoping its tolerable if not oh well. I tried! Appreciate all the information man! Interesting soap you mention I'll for sure look into it! Right now I use my own homemade recipe I've almost got it dialed in. Once I do I'm going to share. I cleaned all my pads from the other day and it worked VERY well🤙take it easy my friend!
Haha lard is s good word! I couldn't believe how dry the ring gear was! Definitely much smoother now. Lol yeah I packed mine flush with the housing... needless to say a had a mess to clean up. LOL thanks for watching!🤙🤙
Unfortunately most DA polishers have stalling as a " safety " thing lol. Nothing local I don't think unless you have a local detail shop that sells polishers. I'm almost to the point of getting a rotory. These newer cars have so many body lines where you need to manipulate the polisher.. it's easier to use a 2" mini polisher but takes to long. Definitely, the maxshine has power.. still use my M15pro here an there. 🤙🤙 appreciate you taking the time to watch!
yeah I hear you haha. Been thinking the same. I got mine locally and strangely it did not come with any washers haha. But I will tell you I rocked a chemical guys 8mm machine for a few years- got the job done, but this stalls way more than that haha. I saw somebody throw a normal washer on, I have no means to cut one haha. May give it a try and see what happens 😂. I just know that it supposedly affects cooling
@kristofferpence nothing wrong with that! Whatever gets the job done🤙 yeah, that's odd mine all came with a washer! Lol contact maxshine and say hey send me a washer or sent me another unit 👍 worth a shot!
@@huzaifavawda8383 no problem at all! Yes, I have the 15mm.. 21mm is ok for the bigger flatter panels.. but let's face it. Unless your doing vans and bigger vehicles ehhh I'll opt for the 15mm. 👍
Informative video! I'm looking to buy my 1st da. Any suggestions? 5inch plate was suggested to me so I could run a 5.5 pad. Maxshine m8s looks good and inexpensive.
John, thank you!! The Maxshine M8s is a great entry level polisher at a great price. There is Also the Griots Garage G9! The G9 will run a little more than the M8s but either one will be just fine. If your on a budget go for the M8s. I too prefer the 5" backplate for sure. The M8 comes with the 5" backplate. G9 comes with 6" so you would need to buy a 5" backplate. Another 20 bucks. Either way you will be ok. Depends how much ya wanna spend!!
@@PapaSmurf918Detail Thank you. Yeah, it's nothing that I'll be using alot, just on my car. Diy'er, that's me. Just looks like so much fun and satisfying. My car paint is in great shape really, just some light swirls and a few scratches here and there. Thanks much! IIL get the machine then. Orange pad and 3D1 should do the trick I think.
No problem! Sorry for late reply! 3d One and orange medium cut pad would yield some great results!!👍please let me know once you get it and get to use it. Love to hear your feedback from experience 🤙🤙
Absolutely! Any manufacturer should have them available. They typically include them. If not contact the manufacturer and they SHOULD be available directly through them👍
Well I personally never... ever run mine about speed 4-4.5 speed 6 is just too much. It's not needed in my opinion. Pad choice will vary depending on paint conditions and desired defect removal you want.. rupes pads are good. Lake country pads. Griots pads. Ect.. stick to foam to start and as you grow kore confidence bump up to more aggressive urofiber or microfiber pads👍👍
Raul, they are both great machines. As far as quality? I'd give it to G9 just a little. The M15pro is very well built minus the crappy grease. The G9 Comes with Mobil grease which is a good grease ( is what they are saying) so no need to swap. That's the edge. We will see how this upgraded M15pro works and I'll have to see if it changes my mind for my go to polisher 👍👍
Here i am commenting about this video more than a year after it was posted. I'm looking to upgrading my 7+ yrs old Harbor Freight Chicago Electrical DA polisher. I am leaning more towards this product compared to the Rupes. First, I'm more of a weekend detailer for my own cars. Second, the price. Third, warranty wise maxshine/ shinemaster has better coverage. My question is regarding the washer as I didn't see the OD & ID sizes in the description nor the comments. By any chance you know the specific size?
Dean, well thanks for watching an older video!! As far as the washer size, I'm not 100% sure. They come with a washer in the box but I needed more. And Instead of ordering 2 more to try for a total of 3 I just machined my own. But, the washers although did make a difference It still stalled on me. If I were you, I look into the series II Maxshine 15mm.. it's a great entry level polisher.. I just picked up the new shinemate ex620 15mm as well. Another polisher fairly new and around 250. It's been getting phenomenal reviews. 👍 worth a look much friend!
PapaSmurf918 When I saw you break out pad & pencil with the spacer measurements I laughed, thought you were doing a West Coast edition of John The Forensic guy on us. 🤣🤣🤣 I love it-it's all in the details!
great vid. i turned away for a second then all of a sudden your daughter's hand appeared in the vid, and i jumped back off my chair like a horror flick.
Thanks for the effort. However, even after your mods, the backing plate mark still rotates very slowly with just a little pressure. It still slows way too easily. Also, you were working on a flat panel. Try the same test on non flat and it will stall. This polisher isn't the ticket, IMO.
It is a flat panel.. and it's much better than it was before.. it's taking a lot more pressure to bog this thing. I was putting way more pressure than I would be during use anyways. It's not the best that's for sure. But improvement is improvement!🤙 thanks for watching!!!
PapaSmurf918 fair enough. Didn’t mean to insult you. I bought this polisher, used a washer and was still far from impressed, so I’m a little biased. Luckily I could return it. Thanks for your videos.
Mark No insult taken my friend!!! 🤙 I wasn't impressed either after putting on a few cars. I'm hoping this will at least make it tolerable. If not oh well. Hoping to test it this weekend 👍 There's always to new Griots BOSS G15 OR G21😁😁
Tomas, yup. So after this washer mod and grease it seemed better. But soon as I got it on a car with a different pad that had some bite it was still stalling like crazy. I didn't get it. Contacted Maxshine and they said to send it in. They then contacted me and said they couldn't fix it due to not having the parts so they upgraded me to the M15pro series II and I absolutely love it. Muuuuch better than the original pro version. Plenty of power. Done 4 full jobs with it and its awesome 👍🏻 I have a video on the series II if you wanna check it out as well as just purchased the M21 Pro👌🏼. Agreed that for the price they are great. I've never used a Rupes so I can't compare. But, in my world they work just fine✊🏼✊🏼
Thanks for the fast answer and I am really happy you got a new better serie 2 unit. How do I know it is a serie 2. I have one home with white front cap, white trigger, 1000w motor. I say Maxshine M15 Pro but how do I know? Did first serie look different? Anyway I like your channel and following it (I live in Sweden). 👍😀
No problem my friend! If you have the white head and white trigger that is the series II 👍🏻 the non series II is all black. Appreciate the support on the channel 🤝🏻
@@khristian9579 awesome man! You can definitely use it out of the box but I'd swap out the grease. They don't recommend it cause of warranty stuff BUT I did it. Its needed. Be careful with the small Phillips screws as they are really soft. Strip easy. I definitely felt a noticeable difference and improvement in smoothness and it's a tad quieter as well.
Bee. You know I'm sure they have then from just about any site that sells polishers. Or even Amazon. However I didn't want to wait and then have to stack of 6 washers so that's why I opted to make my own👍 as far as the whining noise that could be an issue. Which polisher do you have? Is it the M15Pro? If so I'd contact maxshine before taking it apart because if it's a faulty machine they won't do anything if you took it apart.
@@PapaSmurf918Detail it's a M21. No I haven't taken it apart. I thought about taking it apart to put some more grease in it but I was like no. It shouldnt be making this noise and supposedly brand new.
Thanks, Hank! Was fun to make. Just took bits from different videos and put them all together.. I use Kinemaster ( as I'm sure you know haha it's got the watermark on my vids ) it's free.! I do everything from my Android phone. I really need to invest in a nice laptop or desktop 😄😄
My da polisher keeps stalling sometimes it runs and sometimes it don't I charged it up today again because it is a battery operated da polisher but when today was trying to use this denim 2,000 disc on my da it kept starting and stopping immediately. I don't know how to fix it got it off Amazon could just call them about the issue
Possibly a battery issue my friend. I'd definitely contact Amazon and see if they will take it back and refund money 💰. For either a new one or a different one👍
@@PapaSmurf918Detail I got a replacement da polisher today from Amazon but gonna send the original back soon. Now can get this orange peel removed on vehicle but there still are spots where the color ain't blended in right lighter spots.
Yes, I saw that... I deleted by accident after I edited. I needed room to free space to export an it deleted that one video because it was takin in my phone and not my gopro.. there was 0 free spin at all.
Great tip david! I've noticed the thicker pads had more drag... however since I've upgraded to my series II... no issues there at all. Much better unit! Thank you for watching!
@@PapaSmurf918Detail awesome , I'm buying a polisher and first thing I'll do is swap the grease as I've been watching everywhere that all need that for less heat and smoother operation. Just wanting to see what grease it's good
Absolutely man! Be very careful with the 3 Phillips head screws.. they are very soft and will strip easy. But all in all should take no more than 25 min!
@@PapaSmurf918Detail lolzz Nevermind. Peace of mind is absolutely necessary. Thinking of that extra grease will release extra dopamine every time you run the machine. Keep polishing.
