I like that you make it clear that the Rampages are NOT rock crawling tires. That's what helped me avoid them. I wanted Roxxzillas, but they're made of Unobtanium so I ended up with System 3 XCR350's instead. Dunno yet how i like them; only 50 miles on them so far. I was thoroughly impressed with the Carnivores that my KRX came with, but lilke you say, they don't last. Mine were done at 1500 miles... but they sure stick on the rocks. Love your videos! Wish I was up there in Colorado instead of hot-as-hell Arizona.

You liked the Carnivores in the rocks? Roxxzillas are fantastic in Moab, but not the best tire for Colorado though
@DanBrinkmann

@@BullittOutdoors yeah. really want roxxzillas but the trails out here in colorado are hard AF on tires, i hit rough stuff FAST.

I got a set of these not to long ago. After watching a few of your videos with them on. I've been satisfied with them, I had to clutch up and put a tuner on just to drive the 32" tall tire. I'm running them on a 2019 XP4 1000, and in Idaho. So I think we have similar soil types, but I think we are a little sandier.
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors 4 года назад
Definitely my favorite tire I’ve had. When they wear out I’ll try something else just to try it but wouldn’t think twice getting them again. Probably try 2-3psi in Moab to gain more traction

Bullitt Outdoors This is my second set of tires. I like them way better than the big horns that came stock.

Purchased a set of these for my rzr xpt4. Rode several Wisconsin trails early this week. Must say Im impressed so far. Took a bit to figure out best tire pressures but after that worked great. Also agree these are NOT rock crawlers.
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors 4 года назад
Where are you at on pressure? About 8psi? I’ve seem to settle around that pressure for all around riding. Might need to drop it to 2-3psi in Moab next time

@@BullittOutdoors Not much snow where I live so not something I can speak to. Still they have been down hundreds of miles of Colorado trails at Taylor lake recently. Hold up well to rocky trails.

True. Haven’t heard too much about guys in the Rockies or West Coast and the Coyotes... East Coast and Mid West seem to hate them

Rampages and Carnivores are both great tires! But on my YXZ the Carnivores were 1/4 tread and needing replaced with a 1,000 miles, where the Rampages were still 3/4 tread at 1,000 miles. Carnivores definitely bit better I’m slick mud or wet grass, rampages were better everywhere else.

I have the 32" rampage on my XX and ride east coast, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia are my main riding areas. We have everything here but sand and the rampage is a good all around tire, Ive found for climbing rock they need to be 8lbs psi or under.
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors 3 года назад
For sure we’ll under 8psi for serious rock crawling. I didn’t care for the grip when they were new at Chokecherry or Moab, but now with 1800 miles they grip like crazy in Moab

on my 3rd set of tires on my XX. Stock, GBC Terramaster, now Motovator R/T. headed out to moab next month and will see how they do on the rocks aired down. i like the rounder tires for trail feel but....

I had the rampages on my RS1 and thought the did great.. I have X-comps on my KRX and I would have to agree that fast pace trail riding is definitely not where the X-comps shine.
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors Год назад
X-Comps were great in Moab, not so much in loose rock and gravel. Which sucks, they are a great looking tire.
@jcarpentr2
@jcarpentr2 3 года назад
What offset were you running on your wheels? I’m torn between a +45mm (5.75/1.25) and a +15mm (4.5/2.5). I’m not concerned about trail width but I don’t want to widen out and put extra wear.
@jcarpentr2
@jcarpentr2 3 года назад
And thanks for the review. I was looking for a tire that has open spaces lugs that have decent wear for gravel roads and do well in looser soil. I also something that tracks and steers well…sounds like the Rampage is probably the right way to go.
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors 3 года назад
I use 5+2 wheels. 6+1 is the closest to factory offset. 4+3 makes the steering stiffer, introduces bump steer and can wear out bearings faster.
@StuckAndStones
@StuckAndStones 3 года назад
Do you run the stock clutch on your xp turbo? I want 32s but debating if I should get a clutch kit or not
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors 3 года назад
I would keep the stock clutching unless you’re at higher altitude. The larger tires and thin air will bring the shift-out RPM down. But lower elevation won’t effect things as much

2023 now - I'm up for new 32" tires... Looking at lighter tires: Rampage, Megabite, Terra Hooks, and ProArmor Crawler XG. Do you still think the Rampage is the way to go? My riding all mountain trails, so a lot of creek bed rocks/boulders, gravel, loose dirty, small amounts of mud, some snow. WA Cascades, ID/MT Rockies, all west coast. There's a lot of way to heavy tires out there.

How do they do in clay type mud? Theres a lot of that in most of the parks I ride
@BullittOutdoors
@BullittOutdoors 3 года назад
Slippery clay is a tough one. The Rampage is prob a 5/10 for a condition like that. It'll work and perform better than most but it wouldn't be ideal.
