What would you recommend to get the geometry back into after effects? I tracked a scene and used the camera link from AE to make sure my models matched in maya so its tracked nicely. Should I batch render the scene and composite it back into AE?
Hi. I have just subscribed to your channel. Could you point me to the video where you taught how to setup the After Effects LIve link in Maya and likewise in After Effects. Thanks and looking forward to your reply.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4oOfc0S11Ic.html hopefully this is the link your requesting. I do go ove the mac setup... windows will be similar. Any problems let me know. Cheers Chris
It's useful as a quick solution to get camera data and animation data between both maya and AE. There are other methods now. I'm planning on overhauling alot of content soonish.
@@the3rdplace I think you still need to export a track from a camera tracker, so the only benefit here is that you don't need to export plates for a Maya backplate? But you've already done that if you use a different camera tracker. Seems like that saves about 40 seconds. You still have to render from Maya, so you're going to import frames in the end anyway. ??? I think they added this feature because they could finally link viewports to live sessions, not because it was useful.
See above comment. It's useful as a quick solution to get camera null, and lighting info from AE to maya and back again. Generally speaking I tend to use other tracking tools to integrate live action and cg. I'd recommend you explore those and find your own journey as you seem to know it all.
