Maybe Aeration Helps More than I Thought! The pasture is just not growing as good as it normally does and I think I’ve figured out why. I need to get the pasture aerated but before I can do that I have to fix the tractor!

working for an over the road truck leasing company I discovered that just about all big trucks use group 31 stud post batteries,,,, They do not corrode as bad, are a breeze to change, and most of the time are cost effective...... Cables use solder on 3/8 heavy duty eyelets.....

Love the closing shot of your grown up bottle calf. We had about 15 head that tame which made checking on the cows pretty amusing. People kind of freaked out when the 1900 lb bull approached for a scratch.

Seriously, plus you don't breathe that nasty acid dust.I would have just sprayed it with a rust converter after cleaning, who cares if it dried? A rubber cushion can help vibration but they are likely to trap water which will accelerate the rust.

Y’all can laugh, but one house we bought had a badly thatched lawn. I was able to wear my son’s first pair of metal baseball cleats. So, I put them on and for the next few days stomped the yard. Next heavy rain, most of it floated up and off the yard. A good raking helped the rest. My neighbors thought I was crazy. A little fertilizer, a watering when needed and I had the most beautiful yard. I know this isn’t about pastures, but an inexpensive way to help yards.

Wow! 13 years use on your battery! Definitely time for a new one! Good value for your dollar. Seems one thing, leads to another… good time for some preventative maintenance. Radiator probably getting a workout in all that hot 100 F. weather too. Here in Southern Ontario Canada it was 100 F in the sun last few days, very hot and humid 😎😓Today, dropped to 60s F. and all day rain, 💦 much needed! Want us to send you some? Aeration should help your pastures absorb the water better. I always learn something from your videos, especially about farm machinery! Wow, that Buddy sure has grown, and his eye lashes too! Stay well and safe Farmer Tyler and a belated 🇺🇸Happy July 4th from up here in Canada🇨🇦 !!!

Box blade works really well on those belts push hard with first cut, probably won't go all the way through but then you fold it and slice from the other side. I use that stuff all the time and never would have thought you could cut through corded belt so easy until I tried it.

Next time you get a chance, Go to a auto parts store Buy the felt protection pads that slip over the battery posts and are under the terminal - they prevent acid from corroding the battery terminal. On those universal clamps - old guys will tell you to put grease all over them to seal out corrosion, but Anti-Seize (the Grey paste) works better. If you replace the cheap bolts with stainless, they will last forever unlike that nut and bolt on your old terminal. CLEAN OFF THAT RADIATOR COVER MONTHLY AND HOSE OFF THE BATTERY AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Rustoleum flat-black paint is cheap...i use it and then put a battery mat in. I hate exposed metal...i wire brush and paint my outdoor vise and anvil after i work on them. i paint my shovels and auger bit...tiller blades for the winter. Nothing i own has much rust on it for long. I keep my tools and my fathers tools and even grand fathers tools for 100 years. If i use a tool i'll sharpen it and oil it...ready it for next time. Outdoor hammers and sledges left outside or in a drafty damp barn are painted too.

Might need to drill a few holes in that battery box, I know it should drain out the front but with wet dust and if the front is higher then the back it will stay wet for a while, and we all know metal hates moisture.

Enjoyed your vid...we are doing test lines with aerating and dropping 3 inches of compost (and seeding) on our range on contour lines in Smartsville. Where we did it last fall the cold temp winter range grass grew much better initially ..but the rains stalled out .... so this summer everything is dry dry despite leaving some grass in place... will be interesting to see what happens to those test line areas IF/when we get rain this fall....goal was to retain moisture an extra x days with incremental resulting grass growth...which we feel 'did' work even on this very dry year...driest we have seen it. Your thoughts on aerating and water make sense. We have dramatically adjusted our thinking to be proactive about getting even 2 weeks more of growth on the range which increases stock pile forage per acre pretty dramatically and adopting techniques to improve the ground biome.... keep the vids coming..
@farmertylerranch4399
